  1. Hi Mustang. I recently reinstalled DCS and tried to get this working again by copying those folders into the DCS folder and overwriting necessary files however when i launch i now get some kind of shaders error message. Previously it worked fine although i think i only ever used your original version (not this updated versioin) which had only 2 folders to copy.\ Any idea why this mod you made might not work anymore ?
  2. Thank you. I had the zoom mapped to an AXIS, as soon as i unmapped it started working... however i also found that if i simply use the axis as soon as i spawn and then let go it goes back to my desired FOV. Thanks again !
  3. Yeh i've seen that and followed it word for word but it simply does not save anything. FOV always goes back to 100
  4. I get in the Hornet then setup the seat position, head angle and FOV to taste and then hit the 'save cockpit angles' shortcut... but it never saves anything and it always reverts back to the default zoomed out view as soon as I play another mission. It gets very tedious having to manually configure it every time I play the game. Am I missing something? What is the process to alter and save the default cockpit view (both seat position, FOV and head angle) Any help is appreciated
  5. Wow thanks a lot. This is exactly what I was hoping for when making this thread !
  6. Sorry for the bump but is the information in this thread still relevant ? I desperately want to increase the draw distance of EVRYTHING from objects to trees etc as even the extreme preset has very poor render distance for a modern game. I can’t bring myself to fly around a world with such limited view distance, it destroys immersion seeing trees pop and fade in that are only 6nm away from you.
  7. This is the post I was talking about in my OP Unfortunately he has edited his post AFTER he found the solution which is quite annoying as it makes his post super vague. He talks about using autoexec (?) to overwrite the default preset values. Maybe someone here understands what he’s done ?. I feel like it’s definitely possible as when I watch the eagle dynamic trailers it’s very obvious they have a render distance setup is a lot further than the extreme preset.
  8. At the moment I have extend and retract mapped to two bog standard joystick buttons. I understand that - To retract you simply push the retract button once - To extend you have to hold the button until its fully extended My problem is that even after its fully extended when I take my finger off the button it instantly retracts. Is this how its meant to work ? Do I have to be holding down a button the entire time im using it ? Can I not just fully extend it and then take my finger off the button and have it stay in position ? Whats the point in the retract function if it just automatically retracts as soon as you let go off the extend button ? The same thing happens when I use the default keyboard shortcuts.
  9. Is it possible ? Extreme doesn't seem very extreme to me, most mountains are just smooth green textures and then trees start to pop/fade in as you get close. I read a thread on reddit where someone said they managed to increase their draw distance for everything way beyond the extreme preset by editing or using some autoconfig file or something but their post was really vague and didn't explain what they did and I cant find any autoconfig file either. Whilst id like to increase the render/draw distance for everything its the trees that are my biggest issue. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated :)
