It has LDG Gear switch UP/DN as options on throttle, Id like to set it so DN position turns landing lights on and drops landing gear but I cant seem to find in the controls section where the landing gear stuff is, even searching "landing" or "gear" Id do see Landing Taxi Lights actions of Up, Down, LANDING, TAXI, OFF
What is the naming/where can I find actual landing gear actions, and how is best setup? I havent figured out how to have one switch position do multiple actions, where you select the second one to bind it to that it wipes out the first one bound? -

Thanks Virus, could you expand please?
When I am in the "Controls" GUI, it just saves one file. Or do I select a binding each on TM Throttle, TM Joystick, and Combat Rudder Pedals and save a .diff.lua each time, resulting in 3 files?
I have the same request, 4 years later LOL

I always test things like this (or almost always) when i read them so i again did now.
The FPS rate did go up with about 90% (Syria map, F/A-18 free flight), going from a synced 60 to roughly 110 FPS. All cool.
But then i added TrackIR into the equation and things got quite stuttery when looking sideways when the FPS is not on the monitors refreshrate (or synced) or on an exact division of it (running 120Hz monitor so either 120, 60, or 30).
After seeing the stutter i turned VSync back on, stutter gone, all smooth ride. No questions asked
Something else Ive seen mentioned where certain things work best as 1/3 1/2 or exactly at monitor refresh rate??? Will be using IR tracking
Not sure I understand the whys, but that was making me think 144hz monitor might be best with my not so powerful gtx3060 because 1/2 and 1/3 are 72 and 48fps... If it cant keep up at 72fps then 48 isnt much worse than 60fps most seem to lock theirs at (I start to noticed smoothness degrading noticeably at 25-35 fps based on some benhmarking) -
Is that just a TrackIR problem or all IR trackers? Ive seen many say they lock their frames at 60FPS because of it, set their settings so it never dips below 60 and cap anything above it off. That means anything with refresh rate of 120 or 144hz would be more than adequate for DCS then correct (just in terms of refresh rate anyway)

In for more reasonings on this. Trying to figure out what monitor or TV Im going to get as well

Echoing @QuiGon - I do have 32GB of RAM, and Syria runs well for me, even on high settings. I do not have a monster system. I can maintain 60 FPS in single player, and 30 to 40 in Multi with a lot of stuff going on in the background, with Ultra skies, and SSAO etc.
The real question is, have you researched the numerous articles regarding "Alt Tabbing", Enabling/Disabling device scanning, FXO/Meta Shaders folders, Clean installs, or installs on SSD's with non X86 locations for core binaries, and "Saved Games"??? Have you played around with "pre-load" and "radius" or viewable ranges?
When was the last time you did a clean and repair?
DCS isn't easy to play or run. It takes some research, and some tuning - but the rewards are worth it.
Brand new to DCS. Im assuming your talking about things that can be done to get better FPS while keeping the lions share of quality... would anyone be able to better explain those things or what I should do? Ryzen 7 5800 (non X) GTX3060 16 MB ram currently, was going to upgrade to 32 but making me thing might need 64 if ever want to use Syria map??-

Wasnt sure if I would be using Steam version, stand alone version, stand alone BETA so I just downloaded them all, and noticed Im only going to have about 100 GB free after that! (M.2 NVME SSD 512GB drive from Dell actually calls itself 460GB) Not too mention once I get F14/F16/F18 maps etc etc
Should I swap that drive out for a 1Terabyte one (not really sure how to directly copy over everything with the OS being on original) or should I just add an additional HD, it doesnt have another slot for the M.2 NVME stuff unfortunately. Does hard drive speed matter for things like loading times/game play etc should I stick with M.2 MVME regardless (i think you can get a expansion card to add another)?
Theres a bunch of SATA ports but I know those are like 7x slower than the NVME M.2 stuff -
5800 AMD, gtx3060 so I wont be rendering 4k or anything crazy. Would like to run 1440p (2k) so if you use a 4K screen you want something with native 1440p support, or its ok if you have to use a forced resolution? Used https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/table to see what there had native support and what said you could do it with forced resolution
16:9 larger displays (43-48" for example) seems like a few people prefer over their ultrawide monitor for instances like chasing someone in a vertical loop with its better vertical field of vision.
pretty sure want either 120hz or 144hz, no need for for anything faster as dont have anything that can render that. Ive been told that you want to lock frame rates to a whole number division of your screen??? (144 ran in 48 1/3rd or 72 2/3rd FPS, 120 ran in 60 FPS), but post below guy wasnt doing that
And you want to lock frame rates so track IR works smoothestQuoteIf you’re using TrackIR you want to lock framerate to 60 fps for the smoothest experience. I have a 144hz G-Sync display and I use the NVCP to lock the framerate at 60 fps. G-Sync will match the display refresh rate with the fps so I end up with 60hz/60fps and its super smooth. There are many ways to lock the framerate but for some reason I found that the one in nvidia control panel does the best job and keeps the frametimes stable. Other methods allow the fps to wobble from 59/60 fps and this causes TrackIR to do this annoying micro-stutter thing.
What is deal with VRR, Gsync SUPPORTED monitors drop out when FPS goes under 48 it sees, that might be problem for me so need actual GSYNC??
IPS necessary or good VA displays fine night flying etc?
I just keep getting more confused the more i look at them -
Thought I saw somone mention on a thread and closed the window before I found out more...

What exact modules purchased through Steam version are useable on the Standalone version, is there a comprehensive list somewhere??

I believe any plane/addons that you get in steam version can be imported into the other correct?
If thats the case, why wouldnt everyone get that version? If theres a case (example??) where Steam offers something else... can you install and have both versions running side by side or will that cause any problems

Can this be played via Steam or do you need to be running open beta direct version?
