You are welcome. Somebody helped me out also with this. It seems is only working in manual.
PD: I also mean, the other way works but for ground navaids
Well… Got it to work once! Unable to get it working again after several tries, just get Ident for local airfield.
I guess this bit is dysfunctional, spent a day fiddling with it, not worth any more time, so unreliable I will leave it till after module is next updated; see if it works proper then? Disappointed though -
Thank you sir
A combination I'd yet to try!
Just had another go and got it working. Thank you again. Cheers -
Hi Guys,
Really enjoying your new DCS F4U-1D Corsair. Great job, well done
Whilst pretty much everything is straight forward when it comes to operating your F4U-1D, there is one issue I have, despite quite some time trying, failed to get working. Namely, hearing the Radio Nav Beacon to locate the carrier. I attache my M.E. settings for both Essex & Corsair, in case I've done something dumbIf not, then it is the cockpit switchology that has me confused! Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers

Ha! Just spent an hour trying to get this working. No joy, not a squeak!
But, thank you for your time. I must be doing something particularly obtuse! Can’t think of anything else to tryIt’s defeated me!
Just tried again. Seems it works fine in Single Player, but I hear nothing in Multi Player-

Sure
In the mission editor for the Essex, it's the main Frequency (127.5 in my example)
In the mission editor for the Corsair, it's the ARR-2 Navigation Channel frequency (127.5 set to Channel 3 in my example)
In the cockpit:
1, Battery ON
2, C-38 Reciever C Switch to the MHF (up) position
3, C-38 CW/Voice Switch to the VOICE (right) position
4, C-38 Channel Selector Crank to desired channel (3 in my case)
Then you should start hearing the beeps.
Hope that helpsBrilliant, thanks. Was missing the crank for correct channel
Will have another go
Cheers

A Royal Navy Corsair attempts to return home during a spot of weather, somewhere in the North Atlantic...
Hi,Nice
Any chance you’d share comms settings that got your Essex homing beacon working? Try as I might I can not hear callsign and sector letter in my Corsair
M.E. Comms settings for Essex
M.E. Comms settings for Corsair
Switchology in plane to receive homing beacon signal in cockpit????
Cheers-

OK, sorted, thanks

OK… Any more clues? I’ve edited mission.lua in my mission file and set Red, Blue, Neutral Bullseye X & Y’s to 0,0. But,on reloading mission in mission editor issue persists? Bullseye co-ordinates remain outside map bounds????

Ah! OK, must have missed that! Thanks for the info. Cheers

Great work guy’s. Loving your new map, sets a new standard for sure.
However… don’t seem to be able to adjust BULLSEYE position as it seems to default to a position outside the bounds of the map? -

The DCS AV-8B's AWLS compatibility with "regular ILS" is purely fictional - the "real" AWLS is a microwave landing system and uses the same 20 channels as the Hornet i.e. ICLS.
As there is no way in RL or DCS to enter an ILS frequency via the cockpit or a MFD page, the only way to do so is by editing a DCS AV-8B config file -
"DCS World\Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Cockpit\Scripts\RadioNav\AN_ARN128_config.lua"Comment
AFAIK due to the current dispute between Razbam and ED (where Razbam and their coders/artists are not receiving their portion from sales of their aircraft modules) - it is unlikely the AV-8B code will be updated to support the new map.
Note: there is a slim chance a Razbam dev will do the work for free and ED will agree to push the change as part of an official patch but I wouldn't hold your breath.
Any idea where I might find the correct [“mapID”]?
Seems the file hasn’t been updated since the release of the South Atlantic map -
Thanks for the explanation. As you suggest, I’ll not hold my breath!
Such a shame, three iconic aircraft slowly falling apart -
So no AWLS channels for ILS approaches in the harrier on new GermanyCW map?
No AWLS Channels listed in kneeboard?
Or… am I missing something here? -
My understanding of orbiting tankers…
I’ve set up a tanker to orbit around a waypoint.
Without any trade in trail it seems the tanker orbits quite tightly at about 45 degrees of bank.
When an aircraft approaches the tanker for a hook up the tanker will reduce its bank angle to assist the hook up and fuel transfer.
However, we are still, from the settings in mission editor, asking the tanker to orbit around that same waypoint. To do so, at a lesser bank angle, the tanker must, necessarily orbit in a wider circle as it is turning less sharply. Therefore, it will initially need to turn away from its orbit waypoint to be able to orbit it in a wider circle at the lesser bank angle
Have not experienced orbiting tankers changing altitude significantly. Although, if you get out of position & too close the thanker may see you as a collision threat and decide to take evasive actionWhich, I’m guessing, may account for any significant altitude changes?

Win 10 -> Display Settings -> Scale & Layout.
Was set to 150% (Recommended)
Setting to 100% & everything shows fine-

Being lazy here
Finding setting up custom ‘ in cockpit’ snapviews for my harrier rather tedious
I wonder if anyone has configured a nice set of ‘in cockpit’ snapviews for their harrier, in their snapviews.lua file, they might be willing to share???
Cheers
