  1. So this was a common problem and it has to do with me using some nonstandard fonts, specifically to match the look of the F-16 DED -- depending on the version that you are currently using I may have packaged the fonts in the zip file, if not attached below are the fonts that should fix all the scaling problems -- the easiest way to install them in windows is to download the fonts attached below and unzip them, open the start menu -> gear icon/settings -> type "font settings" in the search bar and drag and drop the fonts from file explorer to the settings window and they will be automatically installed -- Pup-calc-fonts.zip whoops, sent the response early -- let me know if the font installation works and thanks for using the software! ah! you were even faster than me
  2. Sept 21 2022: Thanks for the responses -- Please let me know if the open beta update change to the OA1/2 heading affects the alignment of attack runs -- my assumption was that OA1/2 were magnetic headings but apparently they were not so I think my software takes this in to account already...
  3. you're most welcome let me know how it works out for you!
  4. @Vigo68@Shrike88 Thanks for the help, I made some fixes and edits and uploaded a new version of the popup calculator. I also started a thread about it here: pop-up calculator
  5. This is a software tool that helps to plan "Pop-Up" attacks in the F-16C that make use of the VRP/PUP/OA1/2 guiding symbology that is built in to the F-16. Parameters and initial calculations used in the software come from USAF F-16 flight manuals (cited in instruction manual). The following video is an example of an attack run planned using this software: Pop-up attack run example video(2:00 for symbology details) The software takes parameters entered by the User and calculates the angles, distances, and so forth of the desired attack run and exports a Kneeboard (or a set of Kneeboards sweeping a parameter). The exported kneeboard has a schematic of the attack run and detailed DED programming parameters to correctly generate the HUD/HMD symbology to guide the planned attack run. Example of exported kneeboard in attached images. I've also included a user manual (attached) with the software. It explains in detail the various segments and parameters of a pop-up attack run as well as instructions on how to use the software. In addition I have included some simple practice missions that one can use to get started with the software and attack planning. Lastly, there is a fonts directory that contains the fonts used in the software. I will eventually figure out how to embed them in the software itself but at the moment the simplest solution is to add those two fonts on the user's computer. Detailed font installation instructions are also in the included manual. This is a work in progress, I appreciate the feedback I've received and hope that any one using the software posts any errors they find or questions they have below. CHANGELOG: UPDATED SEPTEMBER 19 2022 ----- Fixed OA1/2 altitudes and distributed with Font Pack used in the software to solve misplaced spacings and so forth To do: Incorporate with DTC mod to automate entry Clean up and publish mathematical derivations Download Link: Link [ED User Files] kikaku'sViperAttackProfileCalculator_for_DCS-Manual.pdf
  6. @Shrike88 Thanks for the mention -- I haven't gotten a whole lot of feedback re: the PUP attack calculator so was checking in to see if there was still interest adding the results of the PUP calculator to DTC. I've tried to reach out to the creator of DTC via discord but I haven't heard back yet-- I have, however, gone through the DTC code posted on github (coincidentally we both wrote our code in the same language/program/environment). I gotta say, DTC was clearly written by someone who writes code for a living and is intimately familiar with C#/Windows Forms...It appears to be written with the idea that it can/will be added to in the future to follow the new systems added to the F-16 and would also support the addition of other aircraft. Awesome job! I understood most of it but my coding background is purely functional in nature (I'm a physicist/engineer so like automating experiments, analyzing data or programming microcontrollers for my cockpit). However, if there is still interest, I think I could write a module for DTC that could add the VRP/VIP/PUP/OA1/2 generated by my PUP calculator code to a pre-selected waypoint. (Like, add a VRP/OA option/entry page and add another column in the WP sequence screen with a check box so one of the WP to be uploaded can be selected as the "TGT"reference for the PUP symbology) I could also probably add in the ToS functionality too... I'm not very familiar with the ins and outs of github and how to 'fork' software (if someone knows a good resource please let me know) and would much rather work with the creator of DTC -- however if I hear from enough people or see that there is a lot of interest I can probably work out how to develop a variation of the DTC to incorporate PUP calculations. The code won't be as elegant but it would (probably) work...I envision it something like duct taping a side mirror to an expensive sports car... You can ping me back here or on discord [kikaku#7185] to let me know if there is interest in this or with questions about the PUP calculator thanks!
