  1. The gear sound in FC2 is not as loud as 1.12b but i think this goes for all external sounds heard from within the pit. Supposed to be more realistic to the true environment.

Maybe turn ur volume up, see if you notice it then.

edit: try turning you base up, some of the new sounds are heavy base, low frequency

  2. You just setup axis for mig-29a, but there are mig-29s and mig-29g. I bet this is the problem you're having.

Distiler, you are dead right mate. Problem solved! Thanks very much for your help, i can sleep at night now :D

I was confused in the training missions menu because the mssion title just said "MIG-29". The variants are not stated.

  3. Rik, yes i know i need a different profile for each A/C.

Distiler, i have no axis comands mapped in the Saitek SST software profile, all axis commands are mapped in the game controller GUI and saved in my MIG-29 profile.

What stick are you using? if its X45 and the above missions are working for you, then i can discount a mission config/input error.

If the throttle didnt work at all in any mission i could see the problem being a software conflict, but it works fine in some. Very strange, its like certain missions are missing instructions for the X45.

    If you look in

    C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Config\Input\Aircrafts\mig-29\joystick

    and

    /lockonflamingcliffs2\config\input\input parser

you will see what i mean.

  4. After some more testing i think its a mission specific config problem, prehaps in the config/input parser folder?

With my MIG-29 profile active I went through all the training missions for MIG-29 and found that the throttle and rotaries only worked in 2 out of the 6 missions.

    Ground controlled intercept.miz =ok

    Ramp start and NAV.miz =ok

    A/A Weapons training.miz =no go

    A/G Weapons training.miz =no go

    Sensor practice.miz =no go

    UAV Intercept.miz =no go

Also of the two online MP servers i joined, both were no go for throttle and rotaries. I can live with out the training missions, but not MP.

Hope this helps to narrow down the BUG.

    cheers.

  5. Why would this be?

Ok, I did some more testing. I find that the throttle and rotaries on my x45 ONLY work in missions that i build or ramp start missions that ED made from the mission menu. Anything else, even MP missions where i join a server, the throttle and rotaries do not work (the rudder control is working). Why would rudder work but not throttle or rotaries?

As mentioned above i use an SST profile but all axis commands are set in the controller GUI, see pic below.

ED testers can you please give me a clue where to begin here, I want to get into this sim but this crap is holding back a beautiful career.

    Cheers

  6. Im having a controller issue in some of the prebuilt missions. So far i have only tried the MIG-29 and SU-25 Missions.

Im using Saitek X45 and have made 2 profiles with the SST software instead of using the in game setup because i had issues with mode switch.

When i make a basic mission in the editor, the controller works fine (throttle, stick and all inputs), however if i load up an existing "ED" mission from the mission folder my throttle and rotaries will not work, throttle hat switch "D" button and mini mouse are all ok. If i load up the ramp start and nav missions for the MIG-29 or SU-25 tho, they work fine, ive re-checked my controller in the option menu and the throttle etc is being detected there ok.

    Any ideas?

    would appreciate any help here

    Cheers

  7. **** EDIT: THERE IS a NEW and SIMPLE SOLUTION right now...where u can asign EVERY button from the hotas INSIDE FC.**** maybe coming soon with tutorial....

    ----------------------------------

** OLD SOLUTION *** (still here just to let u know what is all about.)

    x-52 and x-52 pro USERS

there is a problem when un try to asign MODE SWITCH WHEEL, in MODIFIERS -ADD SWITCHES PANEL.

u cant asign mode wheel....doesnt matter how much u move the wheel FC doesnt recognize it.

there is a trick around. Cause SAITEK MODES cant work together with FC.

u DELETE saitek MODES and LET FC do the job.

    First, open saitek profile editor.

extended panel, and CLICK the "X" where u can DELETE MODE 1. Repeat process and DELETE ALL MODES (2, 3) AND all MODE + pinkie.

    modosfc.jpg

once u delete ALL COLUMNS, ( u have a COMPLETE BLANK or DELETED PAGE) , then SAVE PROFILE., with a random name.

    NOW, in FC. .....

Go to MODIFIERS button (left corner)

SELECT "ADD" from the modifiers panel, on switches panel.

NOW, MOVE your MODE WHEEL on your hotas.

if all is ok, FC WILL RECOGNIZE your mode wheel button, as SWITCH MODES. (mine on x-52 are btn 24 ; btn 25; btn 26) not the same on x-52 pro.

after this u can CLEAR your saitek profiler, and FC will STILL recognize your mode wheel button so you can BIND controls.

    NOTE:

Once FC recognize your mode wheel, from saitek hotas, then it will work.

no matter if u select your button from the key list controls. if FC cant bind the action when u press it. it wont work.

sorry for my english, i tried to make things clear. maybe to long....:)

THX to ECV56-FOXONE (for info about this trick on x-plane), and ECV56-Tucano

will continue testing with my hotas and if i find any news will come back.

hope this help and let u abandon saitek software and BIND from FC.

    GL.:)

Are you able to clarify this procedure a little more please. Ill explain whats happening at my end.

    I have Saitek X45.

With the profile editor i open a new blank profile and delete all of the columns including the shift columns (pinkie) then save the profile as random name. I then assign the profile and load up FC2.

The mode switch is now recognised in FC2 and i assign the mode button numbers to thier respective switches, but there is a problem. eg In game i switch to mode 2 and yes controls for that mode are working, however, when i switch to mode 1 or 3 the mode 2 controls are still active, i have to switch back to mode 2 then back again to mode 3 to turn mode 2 off (follow me?)

Also now that i have assigned the modes to switches in the control gui, i cannot use my POV hats on my stick, this is because every key command now wants to be assigned under a mode switch. I thought ok i'll add mode switch modifiers to my POV's in the GUI but this causes a conflict in the GUI because you can only assign 1 switch per key command, and i have 3 modes of course. (maybe set the modes as modifiers not switches prehaps?).

Also in the Saitek profiler if have tried saving one column (and various others) instead of deleting them all as mentioned in this thread but i get a blue screen crash when i load the game (anyone else seen this?).

My OS is Vista home premium.

I would like to setup all my profiles in game and lose the STT all together if possible, but i really need the mode switch.

This is getting frustrating, please help.

    Cheers

  8. Possible bug with audio upon very hard landing

Hi, I dont think this one has been reported yet, sorry if it has.

This "bug" occourred in the SU-25T Ramp start and Nav mission.

After hard landing with main gear collapsed, nose wheel tyre popped and large fire at rear of A/C,

the LOUD CLUNKING noise that you can hear while in F2 external view does not stop, even after aircraft has come to complete stop and both engines have spooled down to zero rpm. Even after i eject it still goes on.

Possibly the sound is audio for the damage, it does sound like debris in the turbine or metal on tarmac from the damaged landing gear, which is pretty cool but it needs to stop :)

  9. GUI Controller input does not recognise X45 Mode switch.

Im trying to setup a profile for the SU-25 in the GUI, i have read about the key modifiers and switches and most controls i set are working ok. The problem is the GUI wont recognise the mode switch on my X45 throttle as a switch/key at all. For example, usually in FC 1.1 my left engine start (r.alt hm) & right engine start (r.ctrl hm) are assigned to my stick buttons 1 & 2, but only in mode 2, which is my NAV mode. Now with FC2 the mode switch is not recognised so this input will occur in every mode i.e AA AG and NAV.

Also i need confirmation about the saitek profile editor, from what i have read in the forums re FC2, i do not have to use this anymore when making profiles, i should be able to assign a profile for each A/C in the GUI, is this correct?

    Any Ideas?

    Cheers Adder.

  10. Well at first I would set in targeting properties in ME weapons for the planes to use against targets (at every target you can set used weapons as ANY, MISSILE, BOMB...)

    Hi.

From my limited experience at mission building, the AI will dispose all stores and climb (and bug out most of the time) when they are painted by enemy radar unless they are assigned to the SEAD role in the mission builder.

Try setting up your F4's as weasels (anti radar loadout) and have them at target earlier than the frogs to take out the sam/radar first. Then the bomber package can do its job with less of a threat. Also check the retard bombs minimum release altitude, i think its 1000ft, so if you have the frogs lower at the attack point then they will want to climb.

Pretty sure the shilka is ok for the strike package to deal with.

Hope this is some help to you.

    Cheers

    Adder.

  11. Thanks all for your comments and tips, i'll definatley try that fraps at 1/2 speed.

    the antialiasing;

I have the AA set to 2x, game settings are on medium with full shadows & lights, & i have the tree count increased by 1/3 with modman, I get 20-30fps, its usually pretty smooth. I see what you mean about the jagged edges on some shots in the movie, i used the in game renderer for all the in flight shots, action etc & they seemed to have smoother edges than the tarmac shots i grabbed with fraps.

It possibly has something to do with converting the clip in "virtual dub". I use this program to reduce the huge file size fraps creates, then i put the clips into vegas for editing, i noticed during the editing some clips looked distorted & the edges were more jagged (fraps recordings only), but its hard to tell at the time when your looking at everything in preveiw mode.

Anyway im still learning the tricks of movie making, its trial by error atm lol

Glad you enjoyed it, & thanks for polling

    Cheers

  12. This is a short film i have been working on for the last month.

Based around an invasion of Georgia by Russia it records a ground attack sortie by two Russian SU-25t bombers against a rebel controlled city.

The full download is 95mb @7.5min & is available from the link below (right click & save as)

also posted at youtube, however the clarity is no where near as good as the full download:

  13. Rich

I'd like to release one bomb at a time from level flight of about 200m (this is what id like to find out how to do).

The manual says these BetAB-500shp bombs can be dropped from between 150 & 2000m at speeds of up to 900kph, so im trying for a low fast bomb run. Im not sure, but at this alt is the only bombing mode availabe CCRP mode?

When i press & then release the trigger i immediatly loose the target designator diamond & the bombs dont drop. Even with the WSCP set to "salvo" & a ripple release of 0.4sec, only one pair is released.

Ive only tried the above with bombs on stations 2,3 & 9,10.

    thanks for your help

    Steve.

  14. how can i release high drag free fall bombs in singles in CCRP mode?

Im trying to release 4 BetAB-500shp bombs one at a time, theyre across hardpoints 2,3 & 9,10. I have the WSCP release mode switch in the 0.2 position & the ripple quantity switch set to no1 (singly), i position the CCRP pipper over the target (a runway) then i hold the weapon release trigger down as described in the manual. The designation point diamond is displayed in the hud & once over target the release tone sounds the bombs are dropped...but only one pair & at the same time with no delay, even if i keep the release trigger in the other two dont drop.

All i want is to deploy the ordnance evenly over the length of the runway, was easy enough to do in the A-10.

Anyone know what i might be doing wrong here?

    Cheers

    Steve.
