hi, in my country it is mandatory to serve in the army for every male, during our service we are all required to throw a live grenade for training. our instructors strictly emphasized that we duck behind cover after throwing a grenade even though it is 20m away and i can confirm that there is risk of getting hit by frags even at 200m away because that is what they told us.

wow i had no idea that bombs were THAT damaging IRL -
mk82, 83 bombs explosion radius too large after update?
SalakauHeadman replied to SalakauHeadman's topic in Weapon Bugs
hmm.. interesting... but is it really that damaging in real life? in the video i posted 1 pair of mk83s could destroy trucks that are almost 500ft away -

ive made a video showing the behavior i mentioned. by the way i also would like to add that i tested every bomb for the f4e and it seems all of them have an extended radius of effect -

hmmm.. on my end the effect is way larger... ill try to film a track and post results. very puzzling because i never installed any splash damage scripts.. -
mk82, 83 bombs explosion radius too large after update?
SalakauHeadman posted a topic in Weapon Bugs
recently have been flying some bombing missions and i noticed that the mk83s and 82s explosion radius seems a little... too big? i always replay the same missions for practise and this time when i drop bombs i notice that it kills vehicles way outside of the visual explosion radius and my plane gets "hit" by the blast because it will play the damage hit audio. for example the default f4e "hit hard hit fastest" caucasus mission usually i would fly it the exact same way and back then id hit maybe 2 out of 4 of the hangars and a few trucks but now it kills almost every vehicle in the base and sets it on fire. and if i drop bombs in continuous interval the first bomb will hit but then it destroys all the other bombs that havent landed mid air and make it explode early. i have not downloaded any splash damage mods at all let alone install anything on my pc the past few days. does anyone else have this same issue? the only thing i did was update the game -

nose down behavior on touchdown?
SalakauHeadman replied to SalakauHeadman's topic in Bugs & Problems
oh yea that makes sense too i did not consider that.. yea was just trying out different speeds to see how the nose down behaviour reacts to it and also thanks for this formula its gonna make things way easier for me -

nose down behavior on touchdown?
SalakauHeadman replied to SalakauHeadman's topic in Bugs & Problems
ahh that make so much sense..... thought i was doing sometyhing wrong or something was off with the flight physics, guess it boils down to the core game itself. hahaha thanks dude! yeah ive noticed that when i land just a little below 200kts then its easssier to hold the nose but if i try to do it onspeed then it slams down hard -
nose down behavior on touchdown?
SalakauHeadman replied to SalakauHeadman's topic in Bugs & Problems
oo i see i see.. cause i have seen some videos on youtube of european f4s landing with the nose not dropping so hard despite a quite steep descent, i remember seeing one where it landed so smoothly, so thats why i asked this cus i was curious for comparison this is one of the video i saw, notice the nose and then below is a recording of my landing where i try to land smoothly f4.mp4 it feels like the nose comes down a little too fast? -
nose down behavior on touchdown?
SalakauHeadman replied to SalakauHeadman's topic in Bugs & Problems
ok so far the only way im able to let the nose slowly touchdown is to trim the stick until the nose keeps pitching up then to land i push the stick forward but is this even correct procedure? do people land like that? -
nose down behavior on touchdown?
SalakauHeadman replied to SalakauHeadman's topic in Bugs & Problems
yea i looked at the controls indicator and the orange diamond is also full aft as soon as the main gears touchdown i pull it back i can see it going full aft. hence im not sure if im doing it correctly or if its just like that -
ok im not sure if i should post this here or in the non bugs section but im genuinely curious: when landing the phantom no matter how much i butter the landing i notice that the nose will tend to just slam down quickly onto the runway despite me holding full aft stick. is this supposed to happen or is it something that is work in progress? ive flown other jets and usually i can hold the nose up to do an aerobraking but it seems like for the f4 it is the hardest to keep the nose up or slowly ease it down onto the runway. its almost like there is too much friction if that makes sense?

icic, then means i guess its probably the altitude blocks. many thanks!
