Unable to resolve radio issue - Sochi-Adler

I took my original mission and deleted all triggers ... still no radio until I delete the helipads! -
Unable to resolve radio issue - Sochi-Adler
Nialfb replied to Nialfb's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
Yes, anything is possible. I had made so many changes, anything could have been changed I went back to my original mission and however I set communications, it did not work until I had deleted the helipads. I could delete the scripts and try to isolate an issue in one of those. It would be interesting to know. -
My install path for my DCS is ... E:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World I have tried enabling the 'Openbeta' switch and the 'Standard' switch (although I'm sure I originally installed the Openbeta version of DCS), but the 'DCS World Install Directory' does not save the path in Kneeboard Builder. PRE SAVE AFTER SAVE Any ideas? Thanks

Unable to resolve radio issue - Sochi-Adler
Nialfb replied to Nialfb's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
Okay ... here it is, go figure! ... There are two Russian, PAD Single, Heliports in my mission at Sochi-Adler. They have always been in the mission since I put it together some time ago because I was trying something, they're actually redundant now. I deleted the helipads and the Su-25T radio works fine! Incidently, I dropped in an Su-27 and the radio worked with or without the helipads, it was only my original mission Su-25T radio that was affected by the helipads! My hat comes off to the mission designers who probably have to trouble shoot this stuff on a daily basis - and what worked today, might not work after the next update! How frustrating! Unable to resolve radio issue - Sochi-Adler

Thanks, I'll work through the units as you did. I don't have any mods enabled as far as I can tell, but the three SAM sites spawn randomly via a lua file - maybe they're a good suspect. Thanks for your input ... I'll report back once I figure it out. -
Unable to resolve radio issue - Sochi-Adler

I'll try it. Yeah, this is weird. I put this mission together ages ago and it has always worked. It's only recently that I noticed the radio issue. It's not the end of the world but it would be nice to identify the issue. -
Unable to resolve radio issue - Sochi-Adler
Nialfb replied to Nialfb's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
By the way ... If I call up the ground crew for external power supply, or if I call up ATC to announce 'Inbound' during the flight, the radio works fine! -
I have a mission starting at Sochi-Adler. There are two planes set to 'Take off from ground' ... Strike Force 1 and Test-1. Using the communication menu, neither plane gets a response from ATC when requesting start-up. However, if I copy Test-1 to Gudauta (Test-2), the radio menu works fine! In the 'Triggers' menu, I use StopGaps in the mission, but I have tested with StopGaps both enabled and disabled and it makes no difference. StopGaps is not the problem. If I create a new mission from Sochi-Adler and copy 'Test-1' into the mission, the radio works fine! Any ideas? Thanks Su-25T Airfield Strike.miz

StopGaps - Script to fill empty player slots with planes
Nialfb replied to cfrag's topic in Mission Editor
#cfrag I have taken some time looking into the issue I'm having with the radio in the Su-25T and my mission, and I can confirm that it seems to have nothing to do with StopGaps. If I create a new mission with basically the same scenario, the radio works fine so there must be something in my mission that is preventing the radio from working when the Su-25T is set to "Take off from ground". I may continue to investigate the problem, more out of curiosity than a need to fix it -

#cfrag ... I found your post here I'll read through it and get a better understanding of DML -
StopGaps - Script to fill empty player slots with planes
Nialfb replied to cfrag's topic in Mission Editor
Thanks for your response, interesting. Is the DML version freely available, and do you have any documentation regarding installation. I know you've taken a step back from this project so don't feel under any pressure or obligation. I won't be offended for a straight up no answer -
StopGaps - Script to fill empty player slots with planes
Nialfb replied to cfrag's topic in Mission Editor
Hi cfrag I have tried your mission and the radio works fine. I noticed that you are running version 1.3.1 of StopGaps. My version is 1.1.1 STANDALONE. I've searched for a version 1.3.1 but I can't find it anywhere. Is there actually a version 1.3.1 or was that something you were working on? What follows isn't actually imporant but I'm just interested to know - in you mission you run three other scripts: dcsCommon = {}, cfxZones = {} and cfxMX = {}. What do they do exactly? Regards -
StopGaps - Script to fill empty player slots with planes
Nialfb replied to cfrag's topic in Mission Editor
Hmm, weird. I haven't had a problem before. I start cold and turn on the electric power before I do anything else. The only difference between my current mission and my previous mission is that I added the MiG-29 Fulcrum, hence the need for StopGaps. I'll have a play around and report back. In the meantime, I'll try your missiion. -
StopGaps - Script to fill empty player slots with planes
Nialfb replied to cfrag's topic in Mission Editor
I've used StopGaps for some time with great success. I have a mission flying the Su-25T and I have decided to enable StopGaps. I now find that the radio only works in the plane if I set the plane to 'Take off from ramp'. If I change it to 'Take off from Ground', to take advantage of StopGaps, the radio does not work. Has this always been the case and I only just noticed it, or has something changed since the latest update of DCS?
