  1. I had exactly the same problem. Deleting all mods solved this immediately. If you use OVGME or similar mod installers check out if there are any remaining files in your mod folder.
  2. First of all - even if there are probably a lot of people who have thanked @mbucchia for these VR mods - I also wanted to say THANK YOU at this opportunity!!! These mods have spent me plenty of good times in DCS with my HP Reverb 2 and my Varjo Aero!!! To my actual question - is there anyone who has tried out the ED Quad View fix with the Varjo Aero? Before ED fixed this I had a frame drop to 17 - 20 fps after I have deinstalled the Varjo Foveated mod as recommended on the github page. I don´t want to waste my time to repeat the whole process again for nothing... Does it work as good as the Varjo Foveated mod by mbucchia? Thanks for sharing your experiences!
  3. ...some months have passed again... Yes, I use blue light protection lense inserts...but I have to mention that this problem happens very rarely since I described it in april. Maybe Varjo solved this with their new software updates...but thanks for the question. I didn´t even think about the inserts may cause this error message... Cheers
  4. wait...it works after all. Make sure that you have installed it like it is described in this video. I have to mention that actually the switches don´t move if you click them, so that you can´t control visually if the action has taken place in the right way after having clicked the switch... So imho it is not nearly as useful as in the real high fidelity models and not even as in the FC3 based airplane mods with clickable cockpits. So if you are used to fly the FC models it might be fun - for me this mod doesn´t mean much improvement in the gameplay as I have no visual confirmation by the position of the switch if the wanted action took place or not...
  5. To all those who have this problem: It is usually due to the cable that is plugged into the headset. Simply pull it out and plug it in again, that's it. I read this somewhere, tried it out and everything went fine again. It must have been a coincidence that this occurred shortly after the update. Hope that helps
  6. Hi to everyone! I have a question to all Varjo Aero users: On the download site of the Varjo Foveated addon https://github.com/mbucchia/Varjo-Foveated/wiki there has been written that since july 2024 the Varjo Base software now supports the same features as the Varjo Foveated addon and it is recommended not to use the addon anymore. I have tried this out as described using the latest Varjo Base release and changed the settings as described in the mentioned Varjo Blog BUT without the addon I had a massive frame drop down from 45-90 to about 17 fps. The game became unplayable. So I reinstalled the Varjo Foveated addon and the game works fine again. What are your experiences?
  7. So, I deinstalled Varjo Base and tried several older Versions but everything stays the same. Then I noticed that there is a new version with several bug fixes that has been released today on the Varjo website. I installed it but the problems stay the same. And sure have I checked the cables plugged out the headset, restartet my system not only once... When I take off the headset disconnects and Varjo Base restarts EVERY fu***g time sometimes 3 or 4 times after another. Foveated rendering also doesn´t work from time to time. There is always the hint that the are too many reflections from the headset - I never had this before and this sh*t all happens when I not even have started DCS. This is soooo annoying. Even Steam VR doesn´t work.
  8. Hello guys, I have similar problems - good to know I'm not alone. (DCS standalone without steam via openXR and mbucchia/Varjo-Foveated without openXR Toolkit) Whenever I take the headset off in flight or even just touch it and move something, it immediately disconnects and Varjo Base restarts - sometimes several times in a row. In my opinion, this only happened after the current Varjo Base update at the beginning of April. Before this update everything was running relatively smoothly. Can you confirm that? Before yesterday's DCS update (April 10, 2024), it was at least the case that after Varjo Base was restarted, the headset was found again and Varjo Base connected again to the running DCS game - BUT without the headset's internal sound. The sound then no longer came through the headphones but rather through the PC speakers. After yesterday's DCS update (April 10, 2024) even that is no longer possible. When I take off the headset, DCS crashes immediately withe the disconnection of the headset. Absolutely annoying and unplayable. I'll try to install the old Varjo Base version, see if that helps and will report the outcome here. Did any of you find a solution?
  9. Excellent Ditch! Thanks for sharing! This worked for me,k too!
  10. Maybe I have a solution for some of you that worked quite well for me if you have massive performance issues. I found the thread below and it´s about an alternative to the OpenXR Toolkit. It should also be compatible with the OpenXR Toolkit but I completely deinstalled that. This software implements the foveated rendering via "quad view" and it works with a lot of headsets especially for those with eye tracking but also with my G2. With the OpenXR Toolkit I always needed Foveated rendering and motion reprojection for a smooth gameplay. In 2.8 I had max 30 fps over densly populated areas and up to 45 fps just in the sky but it was completely smooth with almost no stuttering even in low altitudes. With this software in 2.9 I have up to 90 fps with 90 hz (not such a fancy system: RTX 3080 (OC), I9-10900K (OC), 32 GB DDR4 RAM) and the smoothness is the same or slightly better without motion reprojection. I still have very very slight micro stuttering within fast abrupt movements but it is far from unplayable. That micro stuttering should anyway be a DCS 2.9 problem as I read and they will fix it witin the next update...hopefully... There is also a new interesting video on YT that recommends deleting the files in the folders "metashaders2" and "fxo" after EVERY DCS update. Maybe that coul help
  11. @hsth thank you for your help once again - I appreciate that! I will try this out asap.
  12. Thanks a lot! I downloaded the file but I got a warning that the file could be dangerous and it has been blocked... I don´t think you are a hacker and if so you wouldn´t tell me I think But can you nevertheless reassure me and YES....PLEASE add this dotrender line for me and (others) cause I have absolutely no idea how this works! THANX!!!
  13. Hi, same problem here with the G2. Dots look super ugly I hope this is not a completely dumb question but in my DCS folders there is no autoexec.cfg file and I also have no idea how to create one... Can someone help me, please? Thanx a lot !!!
  14. I could never play with 60 Hz...I tried this one time and the flickering made me mad...there is such a huge difference between 90 and 60 Hz in my opinion
