  1. I have the track clip and had it clicked. Without Trackir, I could look left and see directly into those levers/knobs. With Trackir, the camera angle comes in behind those levers/knobs. I can't figure out how to make the camera "hold" directly into them. In the training mission (cold startup) even when I did manage to move the air controls, they still stayed in the "yellow brackets" and obviously the tutorial can't continue. When I try to "roll" the rudder trim, I can't see the numbers. Zoom in doesn't get the job done when the camera angle is from behind. Any way to correct this? I can "fly" the Mustang and have great visibility now. I just can't crank it up. lol
  2. I finally (about 2 months now) got hold of a Trackir 5. It has been that long since I've flown. I had forgotten a lot, sadly. I wasn't able to start it up. I'm still with the P51. Most of the Trackir, I've figured out (trail and error) so far. What I can't figure out is how to zoom in and those controls on my left. I can't get the camera angle I need. I zoom in and still can't read the marks. How did u guys overcome that obstacle?
  3. It is now in week 8 that I have been trying to get the Trackir. Not even sure what it is about this particular item but it is currently unavailable world-wide. Has any1 in the last 2 months been able to purchase one of these? Please tell me where and what was the length of the delivery time?
  4. I certainly hope so. Thank you.
  5. This is wonderful information. Thnx for telling me where it was. One major hurdle for me is I can't see the instruments. Will b April 6th b4 my Track IR gets here. Even when I do zoom in, it's rarely on the instrument(s) I need to see. And I am having to hold the joystick out of the way, hold zoom, then try with left hand to set the switches or levers. Surely others figured out ways to overcome this. I keep trying different control settings but I tip my hat to those who can fly the Mustang! Thank you, razo.
  6. I never found any directions on how to fire them. Where did u get this list? Too many DCS YouTube are out-of-date. Did DCS just not do tutorials on how to fight?
  7. I bound switch to rockets on button 5 and bound select single on button 6 on the joystick. They don't fire though. What to do?
  8. Sorry for not saying which plane. It's the fighter version of the P51 D Mustang.
  9. What keys do I need to bind to use rockets? I bound select rockets and select single but they didn't fire. What other key(s) do I need to bind also? Thnx
  10. I still must b missing something. F8 -> F1 (none of the F keys showed anything about loadout). Mission Editor I haven't tried yet. Do u have to create a mission and then get options to loadout? There was nothing in those folders about loadouts.
  11. Where is that loadout page that loads rockets and bombs?
  12. Spot on advise. I did that and I had also forgotten to "Dead Zone" Center. All working now. Thnx
  13. Looks like I have the fighting version of the Mustang. Thnk for the help. Problem now is...the only thing I have right now programmed to the Rudder Pedals are right/left brake. The throttle is set on the Throttle Controller. But when I move the rudder pedals I get throttle. I recycle all my peripherals as I am starting up the plane. Still doesn't work. I've unplugged all my peripherals and re-programmed them. Still not working. I don't have right/left brakes either on the pedals. Which step(s) did I not do?
  14. So I did go to the wrong site to download DCS? I deleted that desktop icon I had and downloaded the stand alone version u linked. I don't want the Steam version. Do I then go to ED to buy the Mustang? Or where do I go to get the Mustang that actually fights?
  15. I hit download on the ED page. I have that blue icon as a Desktop Icon. I want to purchase the P51D Mustang. I look thru the selections of planes and find it. I hit Buy...it says not Steam compatible. I downloaded DCS to my F drive. Did not put it in the Steam Folder. It went straight to the F Drive. Did I do that right? Can I purchase the Mustang and have it work properly?
  16. Ahh.... now I c. Thnx guys. Let me go c if I can purchase off Steam.
  17. Is it that the "Free" version of the P51, just doesn't have some instrumentation. I tried to move on to Air to Ground. I have that switch that selects guns but that panel to the left that sets reticle/brightness just isn't there? In my DCS Controls, there is nothing mentioning guns except gun heat. When I try to go buy the version it says Steam incompatible.
  18. U guys just don't know how much help u've given me. I am very thankful. I can now (with a good bit of certainty) taxi and take-off. Landing though, not so hot. Will be April 6th b4 my Track IR gets here.(I can't see the Instrument Panel too well). That'll help, right? If u don't mind... 1) what is difference from Camera Zoom and just Zoom? Neither worked for me inside or out. I programmed it to the left rotator on my TWCS Throttle. It shows movement in DCS Control but didn't zoom anywhere. 2) why don't keyboard assignments show up in DCS Control. The whole column says "no commands available here." 3) the TFRP Pedals do great on the ground but in the air, it messes with my T1600M FCS Joystick. The reverse is true for the Joystick on the ground and the Pedals in the air.
  19. Am I trimming elevators, ailerons, flaps, or rudder? Or something else?
  20. I certainly can agree with the statement that it "all happens much quicker" than is laid out in the videos I've seen. I've resolved some issues (thru trial and error). This info lets me know I am on the right track. Still not clear on stick movement, so I'll ask... to push forward with stick, plane will dive? To make the plane rise, pull back? What am I trimming to get nose down? Thanks for the help.
  21. I think if I could get abit of clarity on stick movement @ take-off, I might just get this bird in the air. I'm still awaiting arrival of my Track IR but I do have Thrustmaster Joystick, Thrustmaster Throttle Control, and Thrustmaster Rudder. The Joystick and Rudder not hooked up yet nor programmed. Will do that as soon as I get this matter settled. @ 70mph, the Tutorial says let the stick go. It returns to slightly aft of neutral...is that ok or should it be dead-center of flight controls monitor? @ 100mph, it's suppose to start rising. It does but typically banks left and crashes. My timing is off, correct? Just keep holding right rudder? Tell me where/what is wrong here. Also, when in flight, is it constant inputs to maintain level flight?
