After i figured out that this issue is impossible to solve (for me) i contacted ED-Support Team which tried to help me kindly! Their advice to bypass steam completely and install the nonsteam-Version of the game brought a solution and the game now runs flawless in openXR. So if anyone else is facing such issues like described above: Try the non-Steam Version and move your licenses over from steam and leave your worries behind Thanks ED for support! I leave my Steamversion installed for now - maybe someone has another idea what could have caused the problem and i will then try to see if it get fixed - this could also help others with the same problem.

Hello virtual Pilots, to make this clear first: i know BIGNEWYS "DCS now supports OpenXR natively" post from jan. 26th and i tried everything exactly as written there. DCS stopped working in VR-Mode. Everytime i start the game it starts in "normal" (non-vr) mode. So far I tried: - steam-repair (multiple times). - renaming the DCS User-Folder to have it reset. - going back to steamvr non-beta update. - uninstalled and re-installed varjo Base software. - also reinstalled the mbuccia wrapper after reinstalling the varjo base software. - uninstalled varjo base software and tried a previous version but no sucess. - uninstalled and reinstalled DCS. - disabled openXR-toolkit. - set openXR-toolkit in "safe mode". - disabled mbuccia wrapper. - started from desktop using shortcut with start-parameters "--force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR". - uninstalled XRNecksafer and openXR-Toolkit . - reinstalled openXR-Toolkit. - doublechecked that openXR option is ON in varioBase-Software and made shortcut from DCS.exe in bin-MT folder. tried to start from that link with and without --force_openxr argument. The only thing i could find out is that the non-MT Version does start in VR but the MT Version of the game does NOT (anymore). I am using the steam-version of DCS via openxr (VarjoXR). (I am also running il2 which works with not problems so the hardware works fine). For detailed informations i will attach the log-file and the DxDiag.txt to this post. If i am missing something which could be helpful please feel free to ask, i am thankful for any help or try to do so. I am not sitting here just waiting for others to solve my problems - i realy searched now many many hours for a solution and tried everything i could imagine. i did the integrity check for the steamfiles again, and now it said there was one file replaced. Now its starting again! Seems that i had a "broken" file.... thank you flappie for your try to help!!

i also used the auto-repair of the steamfiles from DCS now and tried to rollback to the v1.27.5 of the steamVR app - but nothing helped. only thing changed now is that DCS wont even go to splash screen anymore - just trying to start and then cancels the startup process. Attached is an actual logfile of that. i have no idea at all what is causing that problem and i hope somebody may have an idea what i could try. dcs.log

Ah - good idea! This is the Log-File (attached). Switching off virus protection did not help (but that was turned on before too). dcs.log

I am using Windows 11 with its build in "defender" functionality - i will try to switch that off @ start and report result here! No additional antivirus software used.

Hey Folks, few days before i had no issues running DCS in VR but today i noticed that i cant start it in VR anymore. On local-system side nothing changed - i did not installed anything new or updated drivers manually since then. The programs (DCS) behaviour is on startup: It loads and the NVIDIA splash screen appears, then the DCS-Splash screen (15 years of DCS etc) and then it shuts down itself without any notification. Just closing. Beside DCS i run IL2 frequently and with that there is no problem at all. I use a Varjo Aero Headset. I read that people had issues with the oculus 3 devices running DCS via openXR which i also do. But they have all been told the issue is solved since the last patch. For me the issue is there - i already tried to rename the DCS-folder in saved-games but that did not solve the problem. Has anyone an idea what i could try to solve the issue? Ich bin mir nicht sicher ob ich das richtig verstanden habe - in meinem Mods/Aircraft-Ordner von DCS gibt es jedenfalls zwei Ordner: Einen A10A und einen Flaming Cliffs-Ordner. Liegt darin das Problem? Es kann sein dass ich damals die A10A und anschliessend das komplette Flaming-Cliffs-Modul gekauft hatte in der die A10A ja auch enthalten ist - vielleicht hat sich deswegen da etwas gedoppelt und verursacht nun diese Meldung? Was könnte ich jetzt dagegen tun? Hat jemand eine Idee? LG an alle, Wolfgang

Hallo! Ich habe ein kleineres Problem mit DCS aber vielleicht ist dieses auch schnell zu lösen: Wenn ich DCS welches ich via Steam nutze starte erscheint nach einer Weile eine Meldung in einem blauen Kasten dass die Authorisierung fehlgeschlagen sei. Das Modul A-10A sei nicht autorisiert und sei daher nicht verfügbar (sieh Screenshot im Anhang). Nun ist es aber so dass die A-10A meines wissens nach Teil von Flaming Cliffs 3 ist welches ich ganz am Anfang meines DCS-Konsums gekauft hatte. Es dürfte diese Meldung also nicht geben - und dennoch ist sie da! Hat jemand eine Idee wie ich die wegbekommen kann? Viele Grüße an alle, Wolfgang

Nachtrag: ich habe meinem Kumpel gesagt er möge in der Fritzbox nachschauen und siehe da - dort steht was von DS-Lite.... Danke Grenny für den treffenden Hinweis!!! Hallo! Nach Andis Post mit der super Anleitung bin ich dann noch weiter durch die Anweisungen gegangen und habe es hinbekommen dem Router eine fixe IP zu geben. Das hat insofern geholfen dass mein Kumpel nun den Server den ich erstelle sofort finden kann! Vielen vielen lieben Dank also vorweg an eure Mithilfe hier im Forum - ihr seid SUPER! Das einzige Problem das ich noch hätte wäre dass es andersherum nicht zu funktionieren scheint OBWOHL mein Kumpel alle Einstellungen ebenfalls übernommen hat, ich bin dies mit ihm Schritt für Schritt durchgegangen und kann so ziemlich sicher sagen dass seine Fritzbox genauso konfiguriert ist wie meine - da ich mir nicht sicher war ob die Windows Firewall hier noch mit reinspielt haben wir beide die Firewall in Windows für den Test komplett abgeschaltet. Dennoch funktioniert es nur bei mir - bei ihm nicht. Den Hinweis mit dem DS-Lite-Tunnel werde ich prüfen und berichten - falls ansonsten noch jemand eine Idee hat woran es liegen könnte würde ich mich aber auch weiter über Tipps freuen! Hallo nochmal! Ich habe die Einstellungen in der Fritzbox wie auf dem Screenshot zu sehen angepasst. Auch mein Kumpel hat diese Anpassungen in seiner Fritzbox ebenfalls übernommen. Leider funktioniert es bisher dennoch nicht. Um den Port 10308 (TCP) mal zu testen habe ich in Windows das Feature telnet aktiviert und in der Eingabeaufforderung (cmd) mal telnet google.de 10308 eingegeben. Dort wird mir mitgeteilt dass der Port nicht offen sei. Auch auf yougetsignal.com wird mir angezeigt dass der Port trotz entsprechender Freigabe in der Fritzbox nicht offen sei. Hat irgendjemand noch eine Idee was ich probieren könnte? Gruß an alle, Wolfgang

Hallo DCS Community! Ich habe ein technisches Problem mit DCS welches ich aufgrund fehlenden Fachwissens nicht lösen kann. Vielleicht hat von euch jemand eine Idee: Wenn ich einen Server erstelle findet mein Kumpel meinen Server nicht und anders herum ebenso. Unter Onlinespiele werden andere Server welche nicht von mir oder meinem Kumpel erstellt wurden angezeigt und ich kann auch beitreten. Ich nutze die Steamversion von DCS. Alle Treiber sind auf dem neusten Stand. Es wird eine Fitzbox 7490 verwendet und der Port 10308 TCP und UDP sind in der Fritzbox freigegeben. Ebenso ist der Port in der Windows-Firewall sowohl für ausgehende als auch für eingehende Verbindungen als Ausnahme eingerichtet. Anzumerken ist dass es vor zwei Monaten noch funktioniert hat und dann plötzlich nicht mehr ging. Hat irgendjemand vielleicht noch eine Idee was ich probieren / testen könnte? Ich würde mich SEHR über Hilfe freuen! Grüße an alle, Wolfgang
