  1. Hey RWC, Glad you are liking the templates. Note, they were meant for Multiplayer use only. Have not been tested with AI and probably would not work unless its one of the layouts with more free space. There was some efforts in modifying the RunwaysAndRoutes.lua file for the carrier per this thread and some videos where folks managed to get AI to use custom spawns, routes and parking. But seems that thread has not seen any updates since 2021.

Hi all, This is my first ever user content in DCS and like 4th post on this forum In the search for making DCS carriers "come to life" I came across the excellent LUA templates from RedKite (link to his original video: I set out to create my own templates based on his LUA files, and using the Radio command to trigger different deck layouts. Posted an initial video on YT and folks asked if I could upload the templates to User Files so I did (first time ever) and made a video explaining how to use the templates I customized. I will make another video in future perhaps on how I customized them. The templates I made are accessed through the F10 menu. They are divided into "Launch", "Flex", "Recovery", "Locked" and "Clear". Launch allows for launch only, as the Fantail of the carrier is blocked as well as the landing area. Flex allows simultaneous recovery and launch operations. Recovery only allows recovery or launching from Cats 3 and 4, as the bow of the ship is full of parked aircraft. Locked is everything blocked except Cat 3 and 4, including spawn points. Clear is a clear deck except for some statics near the island (Hummer Hole and Junkyard).   3. Good to see you around @Hardcard. I've been trying to get SWAPR to work as well but without any success especially on a dedicated server. My primary aim is to get these scripts to work on a dedicated server in multiplayer, so as much I as love seeing them work in SP, the real value for me at least will be in MP so that multiplayer clients can see airbases (and maybe ships one day) filled with planes and helicopters rather than empty hollow ghost airfields. cfrag's script works with fixed wing aircraft as they are able to bounce and roll when spawning, but helicopters dont move much and so they collide on top of each other. I hope @cfragis able to do more testing on a dedicated server to help resolve the MP issues. Perhaps, something can be tweaked to allow helicopters to not collide on spawn as well. These are IMHO really important scripts as they really bring DCS maps to life, especially when coupled with Random Air Traffic scripts and Carrier static swapping.
  4. Finally figured it out. I was not re-starting my server after installing the mods. Re-started and they show up now. The problem @cfragis that I spawn on top of the static, it does not get removed like it does on my own machine/single-player. Correction: It works for the Hornets. It works ok for nullOV10 Broncos (they do a bit of a jump and move forward), but for helicopter (MH60R) they spawn on top of each other and it crasher the server. Works fine in single player though. No issues with any aircraft vanilla or mod, helicopter or fixed. I think in Multiplayer/dedicated server its a timing issue. In SP it takes a lot less for the swap to occur. In some aircraft drop from a few feet high, break things.
  5. Ah, shame, cause it'd take carrier decks to a whole other level. Also, I confirmed that on my dedicated server, "mod" statics dont appear, while vanilla statics do. Even if I installed the mods on the server. So if anyone knows how to fix that, please let me know. The 4 hornets on the right, are spawned by the script. The 3 Hornets on the left, are statics I added myself. The MH-60R is me spawning as a client, and the mod works. Between all those aircraft there are supposed to be MH-60R and Bronco statics from the script, but they dont work probably for same reason why the statics I added myself to the mission for those mods dont work. null
  6. Yeah I'm new to dedicated server hosting, so I'll what I'll need to do to get the statics of mods to work. But so far absolutely amazed that such a simple solution works!!! Fantastic work cfrag. I'm going to test on the carriers next, not sure if it works on ships.
  7. @cfrag your an absolute Hero. Just tested your script, it works like a charm and I've been looking for this for so long. Only issue is for spawn cold from ramp/airfield parking spot, the orientation of the statics is wrong, and the client spawns in the next adjacient free spot which is not a huge deal, as from ground hot and cold work fantastically so no need). I tested in SP and on my Dedicated Server, it works amazing. The only thing is, for mods, I was able to get it to work on my machine but the replacement statics dont show up on my Dedicated Server. I copied my aircraft mods to the servers Saved Games/DCS/mods/aircraft folder and the mods work for the client (my machine) but did not work for the statics. WHat am I missing here? What am I doing wrong there or missing?

  9. Hi cfrag, Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I do let the mission unpause and run the scripts before I choose a client slot. Just yesterday I tested it with 4 A10s and 4 Hornets, they all spawn in fine. But when I select one of them, if the option of "Static" is chosen, my plane spawns on top of the static without it despawning. If I select "AI" option, it spawns me into a 5th spot and not one of the 4 spots of the flight. The A10 and Hornets, are 2 Groups of 4, so maybe this is causing some trouble. I'll double check the "SP" vs "MP" line item, but I'm pretty sure I tested both. In SP or self-hosted, seems to work. On a Dedicated Server, the statics replacements do not even spawn in the first place. I will test again right now with your feedback. Thanks for sharing the other script. I will test that too. Is there anything I need to do besides loading the script in the mission, and I'm guessing checking the Static unit names match with the statics in ME? THanks Adalla

Hi all, I'm aware of the SWAPR script, but it's not working and so I'm trying to look for alternatives to bring DCS airbases (and carriers if possible?) to life by trying to find a way to populate them with Static or Uncontrolled AI aircraft, and removing them when Client spawns. Essentially, a simpler/dumber version of SWAPR, even if it's more manual scripting work. Closest thing I've found. Any help to get some sort of basic script going to achieve this would be great. I'm really tired of spawning on empty airbases. Thanks Adalla
  11. I got the CDG to work on dedicated server by installing the mod on the server itself. So happy times. But the Rafale skins dont work and Rafale statics dont spawn on CDG. I tried doing same with Rafale, installing modnon server did not work.
  12. Yeah, I am able to launch with Hornet from original CDG, but Rafale no luck. Radio commands "flaw" seems not to work anymore, as there are no ATC options in Radio Menu sadly I like to use Cat 3 launch as when you spawn a Hornet or Rafale, elevator moves down so you can go to Hangar deck. When you come back to elevator, press U, it goes up. As this is the ONLY working elevator in a DCS carrier, I will take it, even if it seems a work-around rather than a feature. I'm trying to make a video, and when loading CDG and Rafale on dedicated server, CDG disappears and Rafale lose their skins and dont follow waypoints/instructions. But when hosting on my machine from Mission Editor, everything works fine. Frustrating, as I'm trying to make a video but track files dont work on self-hosted.
  13. Nobody has addressed this buddy's post. I am trying to make a video, and track file as per usual doesnt work. I hear its better if you do on dedicated server, but when I try to load CDG on dedicated server it disappears and my aircraft on CDG crashes into water. Is there a way to get the CDG to work on dedicated servers? Also, RAFALE skins disappear and RAFALES go to default skin. Also they dont follow waypoints. When I launch from Mission Editor on my PC, everything works fine, except the Track file of course, so I cant make proper videos.
  14. Ah that's good to hear. I'll take a look and see if I can find the updated CDG. FYI, I tried launching with a F18 Hornet, and the catapults work fine. It is only with Rafale hat they dont work. Also, the radio menu to operate the elevator does not work, not sure if that's the Rafale or CDG mod that has that elevator scripting. Videos I've seen show you are supposed to "Request Take Off" from ATC menu or "Abort Take Off" and it's supposed to allow elevator to go up or down, along with pressing "U" for it to go up.
  15. I could not post on the SWAPR thread ( ) The SWAPR script currently seems to spawn client in a new location, instead of location you are trying to spawn in. I was wondering if anyone was able to get a fix for this, or if Hardcard is around to help. THanks Adalla
  16. So I understand the catapults dont work for Rafale. But I could not get the ATC menu to request take off or abort take off to operate the elevator. Only way is to spawn "on Runway 3" and it will activate the elevator. Any way to get the elevator to work through radio menu when on deck?
