Regardless, AESA radar tech may be classified for a long time. As a rough quote I saw in a different post say “this aircraft is going to keep being requested until it’s eventually developed”. Unfortunately, the reality is we will most likely have to get a Super Hornet from a 3rd party developer as it may not be lucrative for ED to essentially spend resources on developing a early Block I Super Hornet thats incredibly similar to the Lot 20 Legacy Hornet we have now. However, there is hope because ED may approach an early Block I Super Hornet as an upgrade for the Legacy Hornet in the same way they approached the A-10C II versus the legacy A-10C
