Everyone, thank you for all help and assistance, it is greatly appreciated, however it seems that this issue is not going to stop even if I keep trying to fix it. I've decided that the easiest way to (hopefully) fix this is to just reinstall DCS. Once again, thank you everyone for the help.

Well when I attempt to delete the file, it states that it's open in another program. I don't have it open currently so I'll try to see what is open. Currently nothing is open related to DCS, I still can't delete it, not sure what's going on.

I might just have to reinstall at this point, not sure that I can do much to fix this.

Repairs are successful, they don't do anything however, updates fail 100% of the time with errors and logs.

I changed and restarted, it saved.

I cleaned out the steam directory. I also renamed DCS and deleted the variant file, however when I launch it it launches in windowed mode with a different background. Currently for the access rights, it looks very similar to the ones in the screenshot in your reply, should SYSTEM be the owner? Currently my account is the owner.

@sleighzyI've excluded every folder or file that I know of related to DCS and its install. I've also repaired multiple times. I have reviewed the ownership as well, they are all owned by me. It is via the launcher. I attempted to update via commandline, it comes up with an error. There is a log of the update. It is attached. autoupdate_log.txt

No luck once again with the update.I did change the launcher to DCS.openbeta_old and repaired then updated, still didn't fix anything.

These are new screenshots of my directories in case I've done something wrong. Not sure why but my DCS.openbeta directory in saved games is very different than usual.

Unfortunately I got no luck doing that and updating, it still came up with logs, they are very long for some reason compared to the other ones
