Im not familiar with the other trim system your referring...? where is this and what am I looking for?

Hey everyone, I have been searching here with this issue and how to resolve this problem.I see that others have had it but do we have to live with it? I know how to use the trimming system and always center immedietly after releasing the trim button.For about 10 min I slammed around the sky trying to get it to happen after removing the Saitek software crap..and found that I got a longer flight before it decided to lock up.Sometimes it releases by working with the rudder pedals,moving the stick in circles..resetting the schval screen.. and sometimes just doing nothing.Really no ryhme or reason why it does it and what really stops it. I have the latest Saitek drivers..just dumped the software as an experiment.I never use it anyways..:joystick: Any help would be appreciated Running Win7, 4 gigs ram, 2.6 dual core,Nvidea 9800GT LATEST drivers. Matrox Triplehead2go.

Alright,..I couldnt take it any longer...connected my pedals from my Bell 206 cockpit and it made a whole lot of difference.Night and day on assisting in getting myself on target.I was using the Saitek x52 twist for rudder just to see if it was workable..just grief. I never land with auto-hover on.Just the auto pilot inputs...holding in trim button for full control till touchdown. Its amazing..I have built a 206 Bell cockpit with full collective twist,cyclic ,and pedals and I feel Im learning all over again. Here is a video of what I have now..thinking of converting fully to the Blackshark

so at 13 ft you lose all functions?? during a landing this can be crucial no? usually Im holding trim in during a landing...so at least I have full control.

Well ,Im not really sure how and why but at times while I might be manuevering around at a hover or skirting low looking for something to destroy (no longer in auto hover)..all of a sudden the bird seems to get a bit ahead of me and while Im trying to regain control..daring to look down to see if the auto pilot is still on..I find all 4 blue auto pilot buttons have been turned off. After I engage them all again all is well and back under control. Is there a key press that I might be hitting that kills this operation Im hitting by accident? or are there paremeters that the KA-50 needs to be within ot keep the auto active or else it shuts off.:joystick:

I found by not using the shortcut made by the Matrox program for that resolution,,use the exec file directly from the install of the game. The shortcut made by the Matrox program would never load or kick back errors

I have to say..when it was working I didnt have to use ANY rudder! It aligned up perfectly (so to speak) Im just trying to figure out how and why it does sometimes and sometimes not. Just trying to narrow it down.:thumbup:

Before I drag you into my problems...physicly.can you verify for me that what I am doing with the rudder trim ,setting very precisely (trimming) can make the difference? (If it is set prior to auto hover on, not perfectly centered?) can effect how it tries to align itself with the locked target..but comes up short

Well, last night I spent hours doing the shooting range mission and in the beginning while in auto hover the reticule was centered on the the birds nose,the target was locked just off to the left and auto turn when activated would not do anything and for the life of me every time I used the helmet sys to designate my target the auto turn would turn torwards it but never line up close enough even after I tweaked the shkval sight and locked target. Then for some reason as my weapons were depleting with a few missiles left..it started to line up directly on my locked target! Is there a bug or something that Im not aware of? I have the 1.0.2 installed. It made the firing much more effective once it started to cooperate...so I launched the mission again and it did the same in the beginning ,not lining up with auto turn and shortly after all went well with it lineing up. Mabe Im inadvertantly hitting a certain key press???? I watched the videos very closely and I followed his moves carefully.Read the manual about targeting also. Question: How precise do you have to get the rudder trimmed PRIOR to seting auto hover on? Im starting to think this is my issue.I now set the line as Im slowing down,nose up to where it slowly sinks into dead center so its as small as possible then hit auto hover, once settled reset trim and auto hover till the little box is centered with no line extending in any direction and I believe thats where my problem was.I wasnt as careful before and noticed the line leaning to the left prior to hitting auto hover,leaving me to believe the system was fighting the rudder setting to much.

I find trying to turn with autohover on it can get wild when your rudder reaches a certain point.With AH off..smoother ,more controlled rotation .but the key to doing this way is you have to have the bird trimmed well prior to going into AH.

Im a noob to this helicopter and have been practicing for a week now and I beleive I have it understood on taking aim in a hover.Correct me if Im wrong please.. Im stablized in a hover ,all trimmed,locked target but reticule (spelled right?) is not on target yet..auto target pressed,by releasing auto hover for a moment, yawing to get the reticule over the locked target or at least a close as possible and then retrim rudder,auto hover back on and slight adjustments to hold target in sight and then fire. I do this because while in auto hover getting a yaw adjustment is tough.Im fighting to keep it held but if I let go it goes back to where it was when I set auto hover on.Is this the correct procedure? I seemed to have figured this out and with all the reading I have been doing Im not sure if this is the best way.:smilewink:
