Is this mission still broken? I get a message saying the convoy has escaped after destroying the last vehicle in the convoy.

I'm guessing this is a result of the recent changes to the flight model, is that right? I read some comments saying that the Huey burns through fuel a lot faster now than in the past. Is there some optimal speed I should fly at that could allow me to get to the end of the mission? Or should I just fly as fast as I can? Below's a video of the mission (made by someone else):
