  1. Is there anyway to tell if a server is set to kick players with extremely high ping? The server(s) I've joined so far read that I have less than 100ms ping but, other players are showing upwards of 1,000 to 2,000ms. Even though my connection is very good, when the server tries to average everything out, it ends up being a penalty. It's just not fun thinking you've dodged their guns only to be hit a whole 2 seconds later when they no longer have anywhere close to the angle for a firing solution. You just can't dodge what you're unaware has already hit you. I want to be a part of warbirds multiplayer servers but, if this is just how it is, I guess I'll have to sit out.
  2. Thanks all for the carb heat information and tips!
  3. Thank you! I will go into the axis tuning settings and set these as sliders instead of the default. Thank you for the advice on the pedals as well. For the point of the original post: Use Right CTRL+Enter to bring up the Input Overlay in-game and make sure none of your controls are off-calibration or stuck as this could cause a problem during takeoff or other times during the flight.
  4. I haven't touched the axis curves settings. The calibration app in the Devices and printers desktop window was also showing that one of the brake pedals wasn't going full-range until I unplugged and re-plugged the pedals. It was definitely a problem with the device, not the game. The pedals work fine now but, does setting as a slider allow finer control? If so, that would be great.
  5. If you're Turn/Bank indicator is perfectly centered - both ball and needle, and the Vertical Speed Indicator is also perfectly centered - reading 0 up / 0 down, plus you're flying in this "stabilized" state for at least 20 seconds, then you should be able to cage the horizon without ever having to look outside the airplane or in zero visibility. More than likely, the pilot's trouble in the example you gave had to do with not being able to navigate properly with no ground reference and having no modern GPS unit installed. There was most likely a danger of mid-air collision with other aircraft until the ground control could pinpoint his location and make sure his path was clear.
  6. I recently bought the P-51D. I took it up to 20,000+ feet and noticed that the Carb. Temp heat dropped down to -40 degrees and was definitely not in the +40 range "green zone" on the dial. Is this normal? I was running 46", 2700rpm the whole time. The manual and in-pit placards indicate to not use Carb. Heat above 12,000 feet. Are there any other methods to use to get the carb. temp back into the nominal range? I couldn't find any further documents or tutorial videos to answer my question.
  7. I also had this problem. I have X-52pro and Thrstmaster T-flight pedals. I have the brakes bound to the toe brakes on the rudders. When I used the RightCTRL ENTER to show the control readout overlay, it was showing that one of my brake pedals was staying stuck at about 20% on. I used the on/off switch on the USB adapter, made sure the pedal was calibrated by the devices and printers menu, and kept my feet off of the pedals until after the plane spawned in. That seemed to fix the issue for me.
