  1. Doing one pass seems most realistic, it is what I try to do generally (KMGU-2s for convoys and BETABs for hardened targets do the trick in 1 pass). The AI doesn't even make the one pass, it just dies. The plane lines up, gets crosshairs on and just holds attitude until it has to bug out (2000 m to about 300 m). It eventually gets shot down. The MIG23/27s using anti-rad missiles don't seem to be using them either, but at least I did watch them fire an odd one. Maybe the weapon mechanics were changed and the AI is stuck with some old command and can't really fire them? The best use for the wingman seems to be sending him back to base or letting him loiter somewhere out of danger. I play multiplayer now and then (more often than SP actually) and I know that AI can be brutal if programmed correctly - see ShadowReapers server from Xerxes. The server is currently under maintenance but I will check your campaign out for sure.
  2. Load up on PTAB KMGU-2 dispensers and missiles. Fly in fast and low. Double-tap the Gepard with 2 laser guided rockets (wasn't necessary in 2020, but since 2024 they shoot missiles down in self defense - but not 2 of them with about <= 1 second spacing). PTAB the convoys before they disperse. Fireworks = very nice. EDIT: If Rolands are your problem, then you probably flew in too early - stick to the flight plan, there are usually SEAD flights scheduled for the time you're supposed to hit the targets and the friendlies do make good target practice for them (and not much more, as the friendly AI seems to be very broken). Early SAMs can be avoided by running them into the ground - fly at 400-500m, when a SAM fires, get down to the deck and hope for the best. The other way around it would be not to be running into Rolands in the first place, just keep out of their range. The only real threat is point defense AAA and Manpads IMO. Set CM dispense to auto until you are safe.
  3. I'm playing through the campaign now (1/2025) in the SU-25 non-T. The countermeasures load was not adjusted to the "new" CM system (you start with 90-ish, instead of 250-ish). This is not a big issue. What actually bothers me the most is that your teammates (AI planes, mostly fellow SU-25s and Mig-23/27s) are complete retards. They declare attacking SAM-s, some actually manage to get into position but do not fire a weapon. Flies away and gets roasted. One after another. ... A flight of 6-8 Su-25s get shredded by a single Gepard (yes, they are dangerous, but still...), no one reacts or seems to care. The flight gets shot down in 1 minute. Does not impair the player progress in any way, but the immersion is destroyed. Yes, the Soviet doctrine was as it was, but this is just the AI bugging out, having nothing to do with the grand battleplan. I know it's an old campaign, but being so bugged out is just like watching DCS dying a slow and inevitable death.
  4. Happened to me yesterday, after I landed at a fwd airfield on Heatblur Cold War, and requested a rearm in the Mig21. It was gone when I ejected (after a long fight and running out of fuel while RTBing). Tried turning EW off, chat off, and SRS off,to no avail.
  5. I'm still having the same problem - the memory allocation is about 20GB when I chose coalition, then everything freezes up. Usually the game crashes. In about 1/10 cases (first time today), I can even choose a plane. It used to work on the shadow reapers, but today it didn't either.
  6. The module is installed, and works, but the module manager reports it as ready to be installed. After clicking ok and after downloading nothing and restarting the problem is still there.
  7. Launcher BUG - Installed/Available Modules After installing a new module (DCS2024 plane were added on) new plane notification is highlighted. After the new planes are added and installed, the notification sticks and does not dissapear - the selection remains empty. I have to click on the install-module section in game anyway. Launcher is pointless, will disable. IMO should be able to force it to launch in the command line additions. Why expend resources with wavy grass and the launcher? nullnullnull
  8. Bump. Really, no one?
  9. Since installing 2.9 (non beta), I got this splash screen, reporting some missing calibration and offering to take me to a download site - which in turn returns a 404 - the site is some proprietary software company. Other than being a nuisance (I have to click "no" to start the game), this does not seem to be impacting the game. I'm running DCSopenXR multithreading, with Valve Index. Version, see lower left corner of the attached screenshot. Regards - Icer Update: Can this be an issue with DCS needing to start SteamVR? I'm using DCS stand alone, DCS started SteamVR automatically (although not steam itself, which is very good). Could the start sequence have been changed in the patch? 20231210_DxDiag.txt
