  1. hi, i have downloaded dcs-bios and wanted to just detect if buttons were pressed in a cockpit. i'm trying to make a .lua file that detects the button press in VR. from there i will have the .lua file talk to a plugin that make a bluetooth sound device buzz. i will then use this with the VR hands to give feedback. So there is a lot of scripts in the dcs-bios. Anyone know where i should be looking or how much of it i need? any guidance would be grateful.
  2. here is what i am trying to do. i love VR hand tracking but want to have a haptic feedback. so the way to do this is i purchased a Bluetooth sound module, small vibration module and then want to map that to play sound whenever the VR hands interact with controls like buttons. SimHaptic allows you to map different sounds to different DCS outputs but does not have buttons or controls as one of them. So i was wondering if i can use DCS-Bios, or even create a simple script to detect all buttons presses. I found there are .lua plugins that can access the com/microsoft features so getting the right sound driver i think is do able. i just wondering if anyone knows a easy script to trigger on any button or if DCS-bios is the way? if i get this working i will share the compete setup for others thoughts
  3. ok, i had a 4090 with my quest 3 and put that into a different machine. now when i fly with the 5090 over the Mariana islands my FPS will drop and stay around 45. i say mariana since that is what i keep testing with the same flight profile. i have DLSS with the latest profile, on and quality setting. even if i adjust my graphics setting to VR mode it still happens. My 4090 did not do that so i'm stumped. i chatgpt'd it and made sure all my navida settings were what the norm was, drivers all updated. at this point i am totally open for suggestions???? when i fly back up high, the FPS goes back to 90 fps. couple other points: - quest 3 set at 90 fps too. - fps slider in DCS set to 90
  4. hello, i am trying to capture any cockpit button press in a .lua script and then make a sound play. can this be done with dcs-bios or something else. Here is what i am really trying to do. i play VR so i like the VR hands but they have no haptic feedback. i am trying to detect a button pressed then send a sound to a bluetooth audio module which then vibrates. this gives me instant feedback that the button really was pressed and immersion is much better. sorry controllers do viberate, but your stuck with weird fingers and hand offsets. i have not used dcs-bios and am trying to research it to see if its a option. thanks
  5. hi, does anyone know how to customize or change the ICP button presses. when in VR i cannot hear when i press the buttons with VR hands on. So i would like to create a beep or different tone. i've looked at some of the mods, and can't figure out how or where. any ideas?
  6. Please consider this which will make the VR experience better. When it comes to hand tracking, I have tested extensively now with different options and settings and third-party devices like HTCC, and finger mouses etc. The best experience so far is having hand tracking turned on and visible with the DCS software settings. in order to get the hand to interact with the buttons etc as you know you must turn off pointers in the hand option. this works really great and i want to thank your team for this. however while button presses are great, the unfortunate truth is knob turns or flipping switches up/down are really difficult and make the hand tracking experience really hard and diminishes from its overall use. Now What i found to works really well is the mouse clicks to toggle switches and rotate dials. note this is only for knobs and dials. unfortunately this cannot not be done when you have the hands visible since the hands take over the movement. In-addition what is really great is that you can map mouse controls to buttons. So here is what i am suggesting your team look into to really make this "hand tracking" great. Allow us to use mouse clicks and scroll while like it does in mouse mode while the hands are visible. it very clear that DCs knows what control you are touching, so just let the mouse control buttons superseded the hand movement as a option. Here is a practical way this would be used. First i would bind my mouse buttons to my hotas, or i would use a finger mouse, pointCTRL or slugmouse. Now all i do is enable hand tracking and when i move and press buttons with no mouse click it functions as it does now. However if i go and touch a switch or a dial, since it so hard to key those to work properly, i can now simply use the finger mouse to click, or scroll dial, or hotas key binding and now i can quickly move around to controls and activate them. Note, seeing the hands in the hand tracking helps you quickly navigate to the controls faster and easier and feels more real. PointCTRL and Slugmouse or HTCC hides the hands and you have to find the mouse. Also if you move your head the mouse pointer gets offset and you lose your place again. works but not ideal. while you can turn the pointer on for hand tacking, first the pointer is not lined up with the fingers so its offset and you have to watch the crosshairs and try and line it up over your control. this can be really tricky or take a bunch of time. again not ideal. you can turn off hand tracking and use the "look" feature but again you have no hands which give you the best immersive experience. and Second, getting the center of the screen crosshairs to look far down is really difficult unless you completely reposition your body. again from my Experience in testing al these methods, i found normal hand tracking with pointers off to be the best (minus the dials and switches). But if you could bind those to work of over ride the hand movement when performed for these...well that would really make this a unique and exciting experience. even with a pointCTRL or slugmouse or finger mouse, all you would need to do is touch the control and click the mouse, or scroll the wheel Please consider this as both functions already exist in the core, hopefully it should just be allowing one to work while the other is active. thank you for your consideration.

  7. Does anyone how to get the mouse pointer to be at the fingertip of the the VR hands. or at least in alignment with the finger. i have tried setting the position sliders but nothing works. I am using the Quest 3 and no mater what the pointer is off to the left a bit. if i can get the alignment right then i can just point at things and then click my mouse or a key binding. right now its pointing to the wrong contorls will Htcc help? is there some type of calibration? any ideas? thanks
  8. i'm not sure if anyone else is having issues. but very time i create a new mission and select WW2 Marianas it always plays or shows the new map. i have changed the date to 1944-1946. i have placed WW2 planes etc. i have toggle the "clock icon"... at this point i don't think it works. so i did a "quick mission" and it worked, but if i save that map and edit it...well its back to not working and showing the newer map. not sure at this point what to do to create a WW2 Marianas map and fly over Guam etc.
  9. when you try and grab the yoke with the controllers the yoke yanks forward and you cannot move back and control aircraft. tested on other planes and it works fine. this model is broke
  10. hi, i am trying to find this rangefinder but cannot find it anywhere. i have the WW2 asset package too. does anyone know how to get this?
  11. i have created a simple mission which i am trying to make a bombing run on london. i then want to add a bunch of interceptor to fight the bombers as they come in, i'm also trying to get the 109's to protect the bombers. here is what i have working: 1. the bombers come in and drop bombs here is what does not work: A. i cannot get Flak to fire at bombers when they get close. B. i have set a p-51 to intercepter the bombers but all it does is fly around that then want to land. i'm trying to get it to fight the bombers. i'm trying to learn this so if you look at my mission please let me know what i missed. i've tried looking at other mission but can't figure out why they work but mine does not... so providing a different mission and saying try this has not been helpful since i can't figure it out. any chance you can just point out my mistakes on this will be helpful London_bliz.miz
  12. Thanks was able to get mine to work after trial and error. The issue is that you have to start your bombing run a long way from your target. I kept placing my plane and. Bombing run close so I could test it. thanks for the mission I’ll give it a try too
  13. ok, i'm trying to create a mission to have German bombers fly over London and drop bombs on bridge. however everything i keep doing from my searching, the plane will not drop the bombs. here is what i did, 1. i set a German bomber on map with bombs, 2. gave it waypoints to the bridge. 3. Set weapons free 3. set bombing and moved the red arrow to the location i wanted the bombs dropped. instead the plane just flys over the area and nothing. feel free to make a small mission i can copy
  14. Does anyone know where to find some good cockpit templates? I’d like to make my f-16 cockpit passthrough
  15. I’m not sure your point? Are you saying since it was a year ago good luck???
