  1. There is no word on when the Sinai update will be released, however, it will not be in the update that has been delayed several times now.
  2. Well, they didn't announce one of the delays on here, it was only on their discord. I'm glad to see they aren't announcing a new release date until they are sure they can make that date.
  3. There is a third group, people who understand that updating a game like DCS is very complex, takes time, and testing will reveal bugs. However, these people are saying, go through your process, get the update ready, then announce a release date, so we can avoid all these delays. All of these delays, too many projects being in EA, slowing progress to a crawl, and a dispute with a 3rd party developer, are all wearing the customers patience very thin. This doesn't seem like a sustainable path for ED.
  4. Then maybe you are as frustrated by the failure to make release dates as the community is currently. As mentioned a number of times already, maybe it's time for a different approach towards publishing release dates, because the current approach is wearing people's patience very thin, and leading to the drama that nobody enjoys.
  5. Strange, I acknowledged the difficulties of updating a game a complex as this one, heck, you even quoted that post. If you aren't going to bother to read my posts, and then reply with something like, "get over it", then please do not reply me. Thank you. I'm discussing DCS? If you don't mind, please do not hijack the forum to discuss me, Thanks I think people are getting too defensive, and taking the discussion of these issues personally. Someone has to be the adult, so I'll move on so this doesn't keep going.
  6. No, because I assume your conspiracy theory about new members has something to do with 'the dispute". I was just pointing out the cause of the "bad energy" so we can put the conspiracy theories aside.
  7. There's nothing for me to get over, I wasn't going to buy any of the new content, so the delay doesn't really matter to me personally. One delay isn't a problem, because as you say, that's the nature of software development, but when it keeps happening, along with the other things going on, it has an effect. The reviews on Steam reflect the general feelings about how things have been going recently...so yes, I think it's time for some adjustments.
  8. You have it backwards, the "bad energy" is not the fault of new forum members, it's a direct result of ED's disputes with 3rd party vendors, last minute delays, and poor communication. I certainly understand that creating new content, and updating a game as complex as this one isn't easy, but a company that has been around for this long should be doing better. ED doesn't need to monitor new members for "potential problems", they need to figure out why they keep missing deadlines, and make adjustments. Solving these issues will make the "bad energy" go away.
  9. I only know what I've seen in the last 2 months, and in just 2 months, there have been a number of actions that make me not really trust them. If you trust them that's fine, but I will proceed with caution.
  10. Or...they hype people to get in on the last opportunity to get the pre-sale discount, and delay the release on Steam, where they give them a 30% cut. Yes, I'm new to DCS, I downloaded the game 2 months ago, and I've already seen many actions by ED that don't give me the warm, and fuzzies. ED is giving off some serious used cars salesman vibes, not the kind that are outright frauds, but ones you can't really trust.
  11. Yes, it seems they are doing this to drive more sales at their store, because this isn't hard, test the module, when it's ready, publish a release date.
  12. I can't believe they delayed it, and didn't announce it anywhere but their discord. The people expecting to get this tomorrow are going to be p*ssed, and you can't blame them.
  13. I saw recently that the devs said they didn't want to spend time packaging updates...that's a red flag. Not updating in a year, being behind schedule, and not wanting to take the time to package updates says to me they want to limit dev time on the project. That suggests that the map isn't generating the revenue they wanted/needed, and they cut the number of people working on the project. This is speculation, but what else can we do but speculate, because there hasn't been an update in nearly a year, and there hasn't been much communication. I'm not criticizing the devs, heck, I don't own the map, but as someone that is considering buying the map, this is concerning, and makes me think I should just get the Syria map, and not take the risk with this one.
  14. Will the next update make the map full 1.0 release, and have a price increase?
  15. It's interesting you mentioned the OH-6. I'm new to DCS, and have been mostly flying the OH-6 because it's so challenging to fly. I've flown a few of the mod helicopters, and they are downright boring compared to OH-6. I was considering getting the Kiowa as my first module, and this thread caught my attention, and is in part, why I'm likely going to pass on this module. This is not a criticism of the Kiowa, but if it's so easy to fly, I don't think it would hold my interest for long. I guess my point is, that the opinion expressed by the OP, as unpopular as it may be with some, has value to others.
