I use Syria as my primary map and Sinai as my secondary as there is so much synergy between the two. However, in light of the detailed northern Israel area deletion, I won’t be recommending or using Syria or Sinai. I promise you that Syria is the number 1 recommended map in DCS and Sinai is a distant second, if even that. You are only hurting yourselves by upsetting the player base and causing hurt feelings. I strongly urge all DCS 3rd parties to work together because I believe we are stronger together!

Dear OnReTech, After today’s download, I am upset to find that detailed areas have been removed in Northern Israel. I don’t see any reason to remove detailed areas that were previously available. Nineline mentioned on the ED General discord channel that this may have take place to “not step” on Ugra Medias toes. Well, I will “step on both your toes” and stop recommending Sinai and Syria alike until the detailed map areas come back. They were integral to my game play and wouldn’t buy either Sinai or Syria without them. I use both Sinai and Syria together extensively as my campaigns utilize both maps. I strongly believe we are better together and that both maps will see more units if OnReTech and Ugra Media work together.

There are allegations that Eagle Dynamics and Heatblur had a similar dispute. If true, and I won’t speculate on the veracity of the claims, then Heatblur handled themselves with professionalism and grace. I fear this dispute has done little but create tribalism within the DCS community and given the trolls and muckrakers a platform to do damage to DCS.

While I wish that Razbam and Eagle Dynamics will come to an amicable agreement, I won’t let a few drops of spilled milk ruin my fun. I preordered the Chinook, bought the P47 and a campaign for the Jug today. I buy a few modules every sale and I will continue to do so! The dispute will resolve itself or not. A few vocal SJWs won’t affect the resolution one way or the other.

Indeed it is! I much prefer the honest and quality moderation that I find on the Eagle Dynamics socials. They are actively moderated for the good of the community. If Razbam goes away, at most you will be out of a few modules. If Eagle Dynamics goes away that outcome would be catastrophic. I, for one, would much rather lose Razbam than Eagle Dynamics! It is a privilege to play DCS. I hope to see you around the unfriendly skie!

As toxic as the Razbam community seems to be, perhaps it is not the worst idea for Eagle Dynamics to cut Razbam loose. Razbam doesn’t seem interested in moderating some very vile posts and posters that run rampant in their community. I hope this changes for the better in the days to come. While I am sure both parties would prefer a long term solution, this rift may be a blessing in disguise and create a healthier DCS for all in the long running.
