  1. Another 'on hold thing' I just noticed DCS is doing an automatic update (the last 12 days) I know I asked if my hideously slow internet could be problematic with this, I beleve it is. Little I can do about that until I get my fiber optic installed.
  2. So, I start reverb and WMR, peek under the hood and launch DCS from desktop, correct ?
  3. I don't seem to have the shortcut to start DCS, What am I overlooking or missing ?
  4. I do have a few modules that run fine on my desktop, but not in WMR or SteamVR. So, How does one get around this licencing thing.
  5. Yes, and that puts me in my WMR house. I can launch SteamVR from there but only in 2D mode. I am downloading DCS for SteamVR in 3D, total 9 day download. I would like to find the destination folder, so I can see the progress without having to use the goggles and launch SteamVR. If I launch DCS from WMR, it only starts in 2D. At the point it shoud show your gams across the bottom, DCS just shuts down. I believe this is because this is stand alone DCS and not DCS for SteamVR.
  6. Damn, a bit over 8 more days of downloading.
  7. OK, I am convinced my instalation of DCS is not going to run. What I am doing now, is downloading DCS within SteamVR and hope that fixes things. The long wait is on, for my slow internet, 24 hours and at the 9% mark.
  8. OK, I found a tutorial how to launch games from your WMR house. Trying to figure out how to get games on a wall, where they can be launced without SteamVR running. Problem is what other forums and videos show is very different than what I have. Really complicated and confusing for me.
  9. I have dozens of those, the one video is like an example of how I am hoping this will all work. I have a couple others like one showing a UH-1 hovering between the tails of an A-10, somthing near impossible without VR 3D.
  10. Yes, Steam VR launches automatically. In WMR, there is no launch button I can find. (same with Open XR tools) Now, with SteamVR running it shows my games in the panel. I can start DCS from there, and in 2D I can select the VR button next to lauch DCS, I get the next panel (15 years of DCS) In 3D, there is nothing to show, even with the monitor button off. Ta the point where DCS is launched, (the row of games at the bottom,) DCS shuts down completely. So, someone need to clu me in how to launch DCS from mixed reality. If only DCS would launch the same as Google EarthVR and Oculus, I would be good to go. dcs.log
  11. I do have OpenXR tools installed These screenshots show the whole thing. So what would be the procedure to launch DCS with SteamVR shut down?
  12. Alright, that gives me a couple things to play with. I did try that little man with goggles, it seemed to have no effect, then the launch DCS button. I also played with that monitor button, so I see how that works. So, I need to turn of that monitor first, press the face with goggles, then Lauch DCS, correct?
  13. OK, this should be really simple, I installed Google Earth VR, It launces and runs just fine save for my very slow internet, Everthing works and the graphics defy desription. SO, I start DCS, press the launch DCS button, it does launch as viewed on my monitor but in SteamVR all I have is an empty grid floor display, the mirroing is separated. Acts like DCS is not taking over my VR view in the goggles. I just shut down SteamVR at my desktop, attached is the log file and a couple screenshots of Google Earth VR. dcs.log Hey, if you never tried Google Earth VR, you should, it is mind boggling awesome.
  14. I will see what I can do to get a fresh log file when I get more free time.
  15. I think I got what you asked for. Should I change this to SteamVR?
  16. Now I am a bit confused, only thing I can say is "THERE ARE NO SCREENSHOT FUNCTIONS" from within reverb and controllers. NOR is there any screenshot funtion within DCS. I can take photos of my monitor, but have no clue how to map any keys or control buttons for screenshots. Here is a link to a video that got me started with VR in the first place. This is much my goal and should be the same for anything that flies or rolls on the ground: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BqtxVUdpfc
  17. Hm, I will have to figure that out, so far anything in my VR world, there is no function for screenshots at all. I have a number of video recordings but cant locate those files.
  18. What do you mean by 3D cockpit lookaround view, do you mean DCS in VR headset so you can look around? YES, that is what I am hoping for. My best example of in cockpit view: Black Hawk Landing Tutorial | DCS So far, all I have done is practicing teaing up blackhawks and dying, the immersion of 3D look around should help, weather flying a jet ranger, MD-530E, or even a Robinson.
  19. I played a couple Oculus games and those seem to run with no issues, I did finally start take on helicopters, but the display is on the panel, and there is no control at all. Like my flying egg, starts airborne, climbs vertically to its ceiling, even with the engine shut off. My Saitek controls have no function, no keboard controls function. AND, the only way I can exit the game is with task manager to end the process. "" Still no in cockpit view"" Note what I see in the goggles is the same as the panel and my monitor. A few of the tutorials I have covered: Take VR Screenshots in Oculus Rift S & Rift https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utsZorYL6I8 VR Graphics Guide | DCS: World Open Alpha 2.9 (2024) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxQhOgDyIlQ https://www.uploadvr.com/beginners-guide-vr-faq-everything-you-need-to-know/ https://www.uploadvr.com/new-to-vr/?ref=uploadvr.com https://www.uploadvr.com/best-vr-headset-2020/?ref=uploadvr.com https://www.uploadvr.com/oculus-quest-2-vs-psvr/?ref=uploadvr.com https://www.wareable.com/vr/how-does-vr-work-explained I am reaching the end of my rope here, I have way too much time and money invested just to scrap VR, but I am considering it dcs.log
  20. This is the only way I can screenshot DCS after it has launched, there is no screenshot feature I have found. Here is my VR setting under the VR tab: Just an odd question, would my hideously slow internet cause any of this? I am soon to change providers.
  21. OK, back to the beginning. If I run DCS on my desktop, it works geat, the graphics are very good. I get some klunky issues with my Saitek setup. Now with the reverb, the graphics are incedible, beter than desktop. In DCS (or steam, take on helicopters) the main issue is not having the 3D cockpit lookaround view. The controllers seem to have limited functionality. My mouse has some terrible latency making it hard to use. The only screenshots I can get are from my windows desktop. None of the shortcut tutorials work. I have not been able to find “Enable VR Headsets” is ticked under the VR tab in the DCS settings" this tab. Folowing the many tutorial videos, this should be easy, but not a single thing in my setup works like that. When I find DCS, I can open the launcher, but when I press "LAUNCH DCS" I get the next window briefly then it shuts down, and back to SteamVR.
  22. I have been trying to get screenshots using 'F12' but doesn't seem to work. Is there any icon or key sequence in DCS, SteamVR, or OpenXR tools to get screenshots? These tutorials make it look very easy, but when I follow these, the screenshot folder is empty.
  23. 3 more hours, nothing in DCS will launch, either with mixed reality or steam VR. after a search for DCS, I can get the launcher, pressing launch, I get the empty theater screen and nothing. dcs.log
  24. The view looks great in 2D, what I haven't been able to do is like the 3D, head position looking around the cockpit and outside view, like real VR. I have been folowing a couple youtube tutorials how to get that far, and a tone of reading. These goggles need a little fixing about the face mask, work in progress. Somwhere I lost a UH-60L module but have the newest 1.4 which is OK. I have a hover tutorial training ground, but it is broken, no control of any sort. For now, cocentrating on the AH-6. Most of my reads and videos are using steam VR, so that is what I will run with for now. I'll work that up for you next session. If screenshots of my settings will help, I think I can work those up also.
  25. OK, first, my world caved in with a windows update. I was 16 hours into updating DCS which is stand alone and with my slow internets would be over 30 hours. @ sleighzy I will try after I get past this updating. @ Joch1955, This is a DCS install going back a year, Been using it, now I am trying to use VR. No shortcuts and using MS open XR tools. @ Maddaawg, The quadro K6000, is a bit old, not really targeted for gaming, but so far works good with DCS, MSFS, Steams take on helicopters. but won't work with the newer, X-plane versions. Let me attach the latest log file and update log file. Early in the log file, it has a good breakdown of my system, not including my Saitek X-52 setup. dcs.log autoupdate_log.txt
