  1. Oh maybe it’s weather. I’m working on a heavy thunderstorm mission. I think it happened in a different time though too with no weather. Yea I got it to happen while just flying around the Persian gulf map one time. It happened in the main menu too with no mission loaded so IDK what to think.
  2. It says that I’m CPU limited when there aren’t any stutters and says I’m GPU bound when it’s stuttering. This happens on the lowest game settings too. Seems like a bug when you change views or open the map to me, but I’d still throw money at fixing it in the short term
  3. My stutter in DCS comes and goes. When it happens, I have to take off the Quest 3, put it down, wait 2 minutes, come back to it and it’s back to normal again. when I had the HP reverb, I could get it to stop happening by alt-tabbing. would upgrading my platform or graphics card help? which would you do?
  4. .9900k .3070 I’m getting serious stutter that happens 2 or 3 times each session that turns my VR into a slideshow. It happens when I switch views or open the map. It’s like the terrains get stuck loading or something or at least I thought so until it happened in the map editor too. I have to put down the headset and leave it for at least 2 minutes for it to go back to normal. It might be the 8gb of VRAM not being enough on the GPU, but I really don’t want to do an upgrade and find out that I still have the bug. Which upgrade would you do? Platform or graphics card?
  5. Update: I tried Virtual Desktop, bought the recommended 6e Router for it and the problem still keeps happening. Sometimes it even happens when I’m not even in a mission in the map editor or settings window. *** maxing out the VR Bitrate in the Streaming settings on Virtual Desktop changed the behaviour of the bug. Now it does the same thing my HP Reverb does when the bug hits. It’s not as bad and the frame rate isn’t as low and frame times aren’t as high when it’s happening. It’s still pretty bad, but this is information. The problem affects all VR headsets. Using the Quest over a link cable or without increasing the VR bitrate with Virtual Desktop just causes the problem to be a lot worse while it’s happening.
  6. The stutter came back You have to restart to get rid of it still too. All of this troubleshooting still reduced the frequency of the problem by a lot, but OMG I hate this bug. I hope Eagle Dynamics is working on fixing it all together.
  7. Update: the stutter is still gone but the white transparent bar in the lower side of my right eye came back so that wasn’t HDR that caused it. I have my screen resolution set to the right eye for the window to capture it so I’m thinking it’s something in windows not in the game settings if it’s not connected to the landing lights or position lights or something. I did have them on while it happened. Changing views around with F2, F3 and alt-tabbing etc fixes it temporarily for now but it likes to keep coming back. I’ll update this again if I ever figure out what’s causing it.
  8. That sucks. Here’s a picture of my settings from after I got the problem to go away. I reset everything to defaults beforehand some maybe that helped too. I was able to increase most of the graphics settings after this, but it’s a good baseline.
  9. Virtual Desktop? Don’t need to. I solved my problem with stutter over link. Also, my VPN’s threat protection flagged their website as spyware so too sketched out to try it.
  10. Confirmed. It was not having my windows resolution set to the same resolution as DCS. I’ve been playing for days with no issues. I was able to increase my graphics settings too. I did discover a new problem where a line ends up in the bottom of your vision in the eye you have DCS set to make the window. You just have to turn off HDR in windows for that. so before you start every time you play: .set your windows resolution to the same as the game so it’s actually fullscreen. .Turn off HDR. And the problem is solved
  11. I don’t think so anymore since update 2.9 I think. They used to say that a long time ago when we’re playing the single threaded version. The main thing that seems to solve problems in VR for me right now is making sure my display is set to the same resolution as the system resolution in game. Now everything is normal again, but it took me 3 weeks to figure that out after buying a Quest 3. The FPS would randomly bork so bad you had to reset. At least in fullscreen if the FPS borks you can just alt tab to fix it. Seems to happen a lot less too. I think that might have been causing my stutter but in the HP reverb G2 as well. Hyper threading seems to be working fine. I need it either way so I have enough CPU to record my sessions with OBS at quality settings. Turning it off would probably mean I’d have to lower those settings quite a bit.
  12. I heard that they’re dropping hyperthreading and replacing it with multithreading with their next lineup of processors (arrow lake). How is this going to affect DCS?
  13. Update: I got through a session tonight. I’m not confident it’s fixed yet, but I reset my nvidia control panel and the DCS program settings in the Nvidia control panel to defaults, I enabled the MSAA mask and checked crop to rectangle in the vr settings in DCS. I turned off turbo mode in OpenXR tools inside the game in the CTRL-F2 menu (this stopped it from crashing whenever I took off the headset for even a second) and most importantly I set my desktop to 1440p to match my in game resolution so my mouse can’t leave the screen. I had it set to confine the cursor to the window but something tells me that it could be a bug that happens when the mouse is just over the edge anyways. It’s a long shot, but I’ll update this later if any of this works or doesn’t.
  14. Every 20 minutes to an hour the frame times shoot up and the FPS drop to 6 while playing this on a Quest 3 over the link cable. It turns into an unplayable slideshow and it doesn’t matter how low I make my settings. I could be getting a full 72 FPS while my system isn’t working hard at all and this still happens. It’s totally random. I’ve been through weeks of troubleshooting following everyone’s suggestions and nothing is doing anything to fix this. Played with every setting in the debug tool, tried openxr tools companion, tried turbo mode, tried lowest graphics settings, tried repairing DCS, tried ASW on and off, tried every single thing any forum post about this said. Nothing. No change. is this just DCS being borked? it used to get periodic stutter problems when I was using an HP reverb G2, but with the Quest you almost always have to quit the game and start over your mission to get it to go away. This is brutal. I can’t get through a single mission now. Is everyone else getting the same problem? system specs: rtx 3070 9900k 32GB ram quest 3
