  1. Never thought about Magnetic vs. True North! I was thinking it was wind correction needed. Also, most of the GATE ELEVATIONS are lower than my altimeter readings! i also posted on the "Charnwood Campaign Not Working with Nomandy 2" ... I watched a video of Mission 7 ... navigation .. and some of the headings he was given to fly are different than what I'm given! I'm stuck on Mission 7 after clearing the 20,000 ft. gate. Next gate never appears!
  2. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET PAST MISSION 7 (NAVIGATION).... AFTER CLEARING THE 20,000 FT. GATE, (sorry for the capitol letters but very frustrated after hours of attempts!) I'm told the next heading and fly to 25,000 ft. ... NO GATE ever shows! In addition. sometimes the 20,000ft gate doesn't appear until I do a complete circle (which needs to be done to get to the correct altitude). I set my climb rate at 170 mph when heading for the 20,000 ft. gate and I'm always a 1,000 ft. below at the 20,000 ft. gate. If I raise the nose more and drop to 150 mph, (attempting to squeeze the extra 1.000 feet, I nose over into an uncontrollable spin and loose at least 5,000 ft. before recovering! In addition, I watched a Youtube video for Mission 7 ... Navigation, ... and some of the headings he is told to fly don't match up with the headings I'm given! What the !!!
  3. The date is now January 2025 so I’m a little late to the party! After several attempts to hit the 20,000 ft. gate, I punched my F2 button to see my external view and verify my landing gear was UP but to my surprise I saw a pair of drop tanks (fuel tanks under the wings). After clearing the 10,000 ft. gate, I jettisoned both drop tanks and found it super helpful! Now I clear the 20,000 ft. gate and start the next instructions …turn to 94 degree heading and climb to 25,000 ft. for 22 miles. That where I get stuck! Even at only 160 mph climb rate, 22 miles should take about 7 minutes! I’m flying 10 - 15 minutes and never see another gate, no more instruction, …nothing! The briefing says you will be instructed to your “airport” destination. How about giving us the destination airport NAME? Is the Airport destination so far away that I shouldn’t jettison my external tanks to reach the 20,000 ft. gate? Am I suppose to hold the 94 degrees heading longer? 20, 30, 40 minutes? Also, at 25,000 feet, I’m in and out of thin cloud layers, am I missing the gate hidden in cloud layers? I think Charnwood is great training for student pilots but can also be frustrating … like Crosswind Take-Offs/Landings …. How about a little reference in the briefing area regarding how to crab into a crosswind? Maybe at least mention a Link to reference Crosswind Training!
