  1. This is good to hear. It really doesn't matter to me what copy protection is on the CD, or if I have to keep the CD in the tray while playing. I just want to be able the play it also in the future. I'll just wait for the CD-version (in simw.com the release date was 29.4.2005) and go for a :icon_jook in the meanwhile.
  2. I have been a flight simulator (and simulator in general) enthusiast for some time now and have waited for the 1.1 update like everyone else here as new simulators are not very common these days. A few days ago I noticed that the update had been released and had my visa-card ready for action. However, I have been postponing the purchasing after reading these forums about the Starforce copy protection. I have Jane's F/A-18 still installed on my system and I still like to play it from time to time. A few weeks ago I also re-installed the Jane's F-15 (released 1998?) from the original CD that I bought years ago. It is still a very good simulator and fun to play although the graphics are, of course, outdated. My question is this: If I want to play this game after let's say eight years (that would be the year 2013), would I be able to do that? What if neither ED or Starforce do not exist anymore? Could I still install and play LoMac 1.1? It is most likely that I will want to return to Lomac after many years. From what I have read, it seems highly unlikely that I would be able to do that. This is a big concern for me, because simulators are not like most of the games that are played for a few weeks and then forgotten. Simulators can last a very long time. For example, Jane's is now long gone but I can still in the year 2005 play and enjoy their very good flight simulators. I would like to have some comments to this issue from the developers or starforce. I have nothing against the developers from protecting their products, but I also do not want the protection to dictate the lifespan of the product for the legit customer.
