  1. Hi everyone, I have been playing on the Quest 3 for quite some time. To be able to spot easier, I have switched off all upscaling and AI. My problem now: Crazy amount of shimmer, that starts driving me crazy. (example in the attached video) What can I do to avoid that? Activating DLAA or MSAA just add ghosting and destroys my capability to spot targets properly. Attached also my graphics settings. Would appreciate any recommendations. My System: RTX 4090, Ryzen 7800X3D, 64GB RAM, Quest 3 connected to my PC via USB-C shimmering.mp4
  2. Yeah we can do that, but there are situations where an enemy is visible on Datalink, straight ahead, 20nm out, hot and jester does not care. Would be nice to have him more active in those situations. The "select specific target" option is helpful for that. On multiplayer I usually use that in combination with datalink while I ask Jester to scan the floor with the AWG9 to see low flying targets since they don't appear on DL because a) they are often not in line of sight of AWACS or b) are somehow not displayed in the Tomcat (I heard about this situation a couple of times, where low targets are visible on Link 16 but not the Tomcats DL. Don't know it it's a bug or feature)
  3. Thanks for the info. Yeah with INS Go Now I meant doing that immediately after engine start. Sometimes there are enemies close to the airfield and I want just to take off and help my team in the air. Was not sure if and how it effects the Aim-7s performance.
  4. Doesn’t our screen just repeat the RIOs TID screen? So shouldn’t he see datalink and radar contacts with the approx. altitude on his screen without clicking on something as well? It is not unrealistic to tell him via the Wheel “Hey Jester, you see that datalink target at 20-25k ft, 5 degrees to the left at around 20 nm? STT him please”
  5. Seeing the altitude when using the Jester wheel to lock a specific target. Right now it’s only azimuth and distance. Sometimes it gets crowded and you have different friendlies right next to the enemy at an different altitude and you select them by mistake. Seeing the altitudes of the contacts on the wheel would help a lot selecting the correct target.
  6. Hi everyone, I’m starting to learn the F14 and have 2 Questions related to the Aim-7. 1) If I don’t align the INS properly and use “INS Go Now” it won’t meet alerta launch criteria. Does it effect (and if yes how) the Sparrow performance? On MP I use this sometimes to be in the air as soon as possible. Do I cripple my Aim 7s by doing this? 2) Does it make a difference if the target is locked in PD vs P-STT? I know PD-STT is easier to notch and P-STT weak against ground clutter, but can the Aim-7 track properly in both modes or is it always better to go PD-STT (like with the Aim-54, where P-STT sends it pitbull off the rails)? Thanks in advance
