But even so, the training you really want to do anyway, is the core training of the Microsoft Speech Recognition, because MS Speech Recognition, is what is actually doing the recognition, neither VAICOM nor VoiceAttack.
BUT I really trained MSSR. The recommended number you'll find anywhere is three. But I did both "paths" 10 times, meaning I did it 20 times. Yes, boring as hell. But worth it for me as a non native English speaker. I also did half of it in a monotone voice like MSSR instructs you too, and the other half in a natural way.
Thanks for your reply! IIRC, the MSSR only has two sets of reading material for the training? Is there more? I would've thought there would be more to greatly train the speech program.

I just got this and I'm doing some training to get it to recognize my speech patterns better. I'm following insructions from p.41 of the manual
Quote• Once you are done with training you will need to manually close the MSVR window yourself, the plugin will not do this for you.
• Click on the square microphone icon again to exit Training Mode.I presume it is okay to stop in the middle of the words list? There is currently 900+ words and I can't do it in one sitting.
After I close MSVR and the square microphone icon, is that it done? Does it auto-save or something? Or do I need to click the FINISH button too?
I've added a few words that it's not recognized but when I re-do the training, the program still has issues recognizing the word. Do I need to restart Viacom/Voice Attack or restart the PC for these changes/additions to work?
Thanks!

Hi, thanks for confirming! I wasn't sure if the 990 miles could be used or only rounded up to the thousand-miles.
-
Bump! Anyone?
-
If I bought the Viper today and got 3990 miles, then bought the Supercarrier later on, is that a discount of $3.99 or just $3.00?
Does this mean any module that advertises Miles are participating in the loyalty program? It looks like all modules except the Hawk and the BS1 to BS2 upgrade offer Miles.ED Miles can be used to pay any DCS product that is participating in the loyalty program. Thanks!

Since I've run out of things to do and I'm still stuck at home, I'm getting back into DCS and finally going to learn the Tomcat. I see Heatblur has their set of tutorials plus this thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=262032 but I would appreciate if others could share other tutorials they have found useful.
Thanks!

Thanks!

It was at a 50% discount with pretty much everything else during the free month. Which was only 1 month ago..............
That could be it.... still, a $5 discount isn't a bank breaker. How do I check this "ED miles" thing if I have any?
-
Thank you for that info and for the heads up on that program silverdevil!
-
I could've sworn it was by itself with the 50% off offer on the last sale or the previous one.

Hi! Thanks for that info! Is it possible to know the install size of each additional non-core modules? While I have space for 145GB, that'll put my fastest drive close to max and I like to keep at least 20% free space available.
EDIT: Whoops! Posted just as you were. Thanks!
-
I'm a bit short on space at the moment and just wondering how much space DCS would take up if I installed the latest stable branch? Can anyone tell me how much space each of these modules takes up: Hornet, Tomcat, Viper, Nevada, Persian Gulf? I may need to pick what I can fit for now.
Thank you!

I could've sworn I saw this module at 50% off/$25. Am I mis-remembering? Thanks!

all 3-monitor users who use the 1 monitor setting probably cant adjust fov now. Used to work.
Really? How long ago did it "used to work"? Haven't played for years but I don't think I managed with this FOV back in the day when I was playing DCS A10C. :(

Thanks for that Coug4r, however, that only sets the default zoom, ie, what your zoom is when you press the NUM ENTER button. The max zoom out is still the same.

Okay, seems like an issue with the .lua files. I tried the F-18 profile and followed those instructions and the F-18 profile was working so without changing anything, loaded up the Su-25 profile and the gauges are working. Yay! But am I at risk of having something fk up due to using the F-18 lua files?
Thanks!

Does all of Capt. Zeens' profiles work with Helios 1.4? I'm trying out the SU-25T profile but I wonder if it's 1.4 compatible or only on 1.3? I've followed the instructions per the Capt. Zeen webpage but the instruments on the Helios panel do not sync up with the instruments on the actual aircraft. I feel like I'm missing something basic here.
Any help appreciated!INSTALATION -Install Helios if you don't have it yet. (http://www.gadrocsworkshop.com/helios/latest)Using Helios 1.4
-Copy the profile on the profiles folder, usualy in user/my documents/helios/profiles
-Copy the folders Capt_Zeen and Capt_Zeen_NIGHT on the images folder, usualy in user/my documents/helios/images
-If you already got my KA50 profile, some files can be overwrited, dont worry about that and just accept it.
-Run the HeliosProfileEditor, load the profile Capt_Zeen-SU25T-v1.0, and perform a Reset Monitors from the menu Profile.
Done all of the above
-In the profile explorer window, double-click over Interfaces/Flaming Cliffs 2 line, then enter the path for DCS World, on the Flaming Cliffs 2.o Setup window and click on Setup Flaming Cliffs buttom.
Mine is Z:\DCS World\bin. Is that correct or should I be pointing to a different folder?
-Save the profile
-Dont forget to use the export.lue i included in the package, that one contains all the commands to work with A10C, KA50 and FC at the same time. Copy it in C:\Users\yourusername\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts, but first make a backup copy of your actual export.lua. IF you use Tackview, Tarst or another external scripts, copy the corresponding lines from your old export.lua to the new one.
Done this too

I seem to have broken DCS by entering a very large monitor resolution size. I have a 5896x1080 main screen plus two 1920x1080 touchscreens so I entered 9736x1080 and DCS would not start after that, kept throwing up an error message about memory being too big but looking at my MSI AB logs, it never went past 6GB on my 16GB RAM system.
Now the error no longer appears and I get a window with DCS on it but the main menu UI doesn't load. Is there a way to repair critical DCS files without having to do a complete re-install?
Thanks!

Hey sobe! Thanks for the kind words!
I have a 4.34 BMS profile now with all the new 4.34 stuff but it is not ready to be shared and even if it were, I do not know what would be the best way to do it. BlueFinBima has kindly offered to help me get the 4.34 profile compatible with Helios 1.4 so that's in the works now as well.
If your 3rd screen-HDMI issue persists whether using Helios 1.3 + BMS and also with Helios 1.4 + DCS, then maybe these kind folk can help you.
As for screen setup, I had everything to the right of the 0,0 monitor back when I was flying DCS but in the early days of BMS 4.32, there were some issues and IIRC, windowed mode didn't work well or had much lower framerates or something so I **HAD** to use fullscreen mode and I **HAD** to put everything to the left of the 0,0 monitor. I guess I just kept it that way since then. Just finished my testing with BMS different settings so if the numbers are good, I just might go back to right-side orientation.
-
You can force the BMS UI to start windowed without affecting the other screens.
That is correct but old habits die hard :) Currently running some tests to see if there's any adverse effects of running windowed mode.
Concerning your inital problem to have other screens left of 0,0 I spent several hours on this problem and did not find a solution. Maybe others are more skilled on this...So not just me. Good to know. :smartass:

Top picture is the max zoom out on 1920x1080 resolution, bottom picture is max zoom out on 5896x1080 resolution. I would like to adjust the FOV to be between halfway of the top and bottom pics, but I seem to be hitting a hard limit on the FOV number that I can put in, raising the number does no effect.

Read that thread and no joy. I've tried bumping it up to silly numbers like 180 or 200. I've changed the numbers in SnapViews.lua in the \Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View folder, changed the numbers in SnapViewsDefault.lua in the \DCS World\Config\View folder, and even set UseDefaultSnapViews = false (default true) in View.lua in \DCS World\Config\View folder.

Is that going to help? Or is it placebo? It's the same words, what difference does it make reading 2x or 10x?
