In fact, just as I described in the third point, the frame rate issue caused by mouse movement is quite strange. Sometimes it doesn't occur when I launch the game, and sometimes it does, and I can't find a pattern to it. I tried lowering the polling rate to 500, but the problem didn't go away and still maintained the aforementioned odd characteristics. However, there's one thing I think is worth noting: when this issue occurs, the CPU performance graph is similar to the second and third graphs on the second floor. What's more, when I move the mouse quickly, I can see the occupancy rate of one of the cores shoot up to 100% in no time. When the issue doesn't occur, the CPU performance is close to what's shown in the first graph, and there's no obvious or sharp change in the CPU performance graph when I move the mouse quickly.

The problems I want to solve are as follows: Solve the problem that the game starts extremely slowly after setting the CPU to the highest - priority. Solve the problem that the game occasionally gets stuck on a black screen and the process shows no response during startup. Solve the problem that the frame rate drops sharply when moving the mouse, which occurs irregularly.
-
There seems to be a fundamental difference in CPU allocation when the highest CPU priority is enabled or disabled. The first image shows the situation when the CPU priority is set to the highest, with the game successfully entering the main menu and functioning properly. The second and third images respectively show the scenario when the CPU priority is set to default, where the game gets stuck at the black screen loading step during startup or freezes after entering the main menu.

Since a DCS update two months ago, the main menu has been freezing. Sometimes it freezes permanently, requiring a computer restart. After nearly half a month of debugging, I found that setting the highest CPU priority for DCS significantly reduces freezing. However, new issues have emerged: Slow or crashed startup: Longer loading times when opening the launcher, entering the game from the launcher, and loading into the main menu. Frequent crashes or freezes during the black screen after launching the game or at 0% progress on the initial loading screen. Severe FPS drops when moving the mouse in-game: Occurs less frequently in windowed mode but happens 100% of the time in fullscreen mode after the latest update. Adjusting CPU priority seems to affect the frequency of this issue. I'm unsure if these problems are related and would appreciate solutions for each. This is the dcs.log file generated when the game crashes after getting stuck at 0% on the loading screen with the highest CPU priority enabled: dcs.log

DCS completely freezes on main menu right after the initlal loading screen

I enabled the option for the highest CPU priority, and the freezing issue has been significantly alleviated! However, the game's startup speed has slowed down noticeably. Does anyone know the reason behind this? Below is the comparison data; there seems to be a fundamental difference in CPU allocation. The first image shows the scenario when the CPU priority is set to the highest. The second image shows the scenario when the CPU priority is set to default, where the game gets stuck at the black screen loading step during startup or freezes after entering the main menu: and the dcs.log file when it gets stuck on the black screen loading:dcs.log -
Quad-Views-Foveated causes a significant drop in frame rate.

No, you misunderstood what I meant. What I mean is: When QVFR is turned on, the picture in VR becomes blurrier than when it's off, and this isn't an isolated case. As for DLSS, I've always had a positive attitude towards it. Apart from some motion blur, it hasn't brought me any negative changes. I use a Quest 3. When I was using the 4060Ti 16G, QVFR worked really well. This problem only started to occur some time after I upgraded to the 5070Ti. -

My computer has two M.2 drives, and I’ve tried reinstalling (the program) on both, but neither worked well… The problem isn’t here. I recently tried disabling core parking, which did bring noticeable improvements. However, there are still occasional intermittent freezes, and a new issue has cropped up: occasional frame drops when moving the mouse. This can be fixed by restarting the game. (Forums point out that this issue stems from mouse polling rate, but I never had this problem before when using a 1000Hz polling rate.) -

The SSW function of VD doesn't work well. It often causes ghosting which leads to dizziness. When piloting rotorcraft such as the Apache, it creates severe "jelly effect" on the areas swept by the rotors as well as the subtitles/HMD display in those areas, making the game unplayable. -
DCS completely freezes on main menu right after the initlal loading screen

Yes, I’ve tried that too. I’ve installed DCS on both of my solid-state drives, but it didn’t improve the issue at the time. From what I’ve found through searching, this beeping sound might occur when the system freezes due to high CPU load -
DCS completely freezes on main menu right after the initlal loading screen

Sorry, it should be a "dodo" sound. My description was incorrect. Anyway, as shown in the following video, once the DCS is about to freeze, it will occasionally get stuck and alarm before freezing. VID_20250724_051735(1).mp4 -

It would be great if VR could have a universal driver-level frame generation feature like Smooth Motion... -

My CPU is 14600KF, which should have considerable headroom. Because before I upgraded my configuration, I was using just a combination of 12400KF + 4060Ti 16GB, but back then QVFR could work normally and deliver excellent performance. -

EX_AI replied to EX_AI's topic in Virtual Reality
But, the current issue is that there seems to be "negative impact" everywhere: My CPU is 14600KF, and it can stably run at 80 frames per second in the AH64D - Persian Gulf cold start mission without QVFR enabled; but once QVFR is turned on, the frame rate drops to 57 - 60 frames per second right from the start of the mission. And,I haven't tested the frame rate with DLSS turned off, but isn't DLSS supposed to bring significant performance improvements? So why not keep it on....? -

Thanks very much for the Quad-Views-Foveated plugin, but I seem to be in big trouble right now. I used to use Quad-Views-Foveated on my 4060ti 16G graphics card. With ultra settings and 120% center resolution, it brought about a 20% performance boost, and this plugin was a great help to me at that time. However, when I upgraded to the 5070ti graphics card, the results brought by Quad-Views-Foveated were terrible. Enabling it actually caused the frame rate to drop—by an average of 25% with the default configuration. Moreover, Quad-Views-Foveated itself caused blurring in the center of the view (as mentioned in a post), which led to a decline in image quality. In the end, I got very disappointing results: with Quad-Views-Foveated enabled, both the image quality and frame rate significantly decreased. There was zero positive gain, only a complete negative gain. I have tried many methods and spent a lot of time attempting to fix this, including reinstalling the game, reinstalling the plugin, and even reinstalling the system, but nothing worked—the problem persists... I sincerely request help... Below are my settings screenshots and log files. The test scenario was: cold start of the AH64D in the Persian Gulf.nullnullnullnull Quad-Views-Foveated.log dcs.log -

DCS completely freezes on main menu right after the initlal loading screen
EX_AI replied to Vnavspeed's topic in Game Crash
Yes, I disabled the Virtualization Technology in the CPU settings under the BIOS. However, after performing this operation along with several other actions, issues such as a significant delay in launching the game via Steam, a prolonged black screen before the game loads, and even the program becoming unresponsive emerged. (I'm uncertain whether this is caused by the aforementioned operation.) Regarding troubleshooting by deleting the save folder, I've considered that as well. I've attempted deleting the DCS folder under the save game directory on the C drive and reinstalling the game to start fresh. Unfortunately, the problems persist when launching the game. -
DCS completely freezes on main menu right after the initlal loading screen

I've also encountered this problem, and it's really frustrating... I've tried disabling kernel isolation, adjusting CPU affinity, turning off XMP, changing the power policy, disabling core parking, reinstalling the entire game, upgrading to Windows 11, updating the BIOS, cleaning the memory modules, changing the mouse polling rate, deleting shader files, and using Steam to repair the game files. I've even modified the in - game graphics settings one by one for a control experiment... All these actions have taken me a lot of time, and not only did they not work, but the problem got worse. Now, when I try to enter the game, there's a long black - screen loading period. Sometimes, even during the loading process, the system emits a beeping alarm sound and then freezes permanently. After the latest update, after I modified some of the above settings, a new problem emerged: Moving the mouse in - game causes a significant drop in frame rate, from 150 to 40+ or even 20+, and this is the case even in the main menu... All these things have taken up a large amount of my time. Especially in the past two months, I've been preparing for the Licensed Physician Qualification Examination, and all my spare time has been spent on fixing this game, yet with no obvious results. I'm tired of it and don't want to play this game for the time being until the problem is fixed. To add, there will be a loud system beeping alarm before freezing. After freezing, all operations will not respond, but game music and voice chat can proceed normally. After the freeze is lifted, it can be seen from the Task Manager that the GPU usage was 0% during the freeze and one of the CPUs was at 100%. That's all for my addition. -
Dynamic Foveated Rendering - Everything in one page

I tried again—this time setting the center region to 0.3x0.3. Under the same test scenario, the performance was 54-56 FPS, still not reaching the frame rate when quad views are disabled(56-60FPS), and the visual quality was severely degraded (Quest 3 doesn’t have eye tracking). And the core issue probably isn’t the center region, because I previously used this exact same configuration on a 4060 Ti, where it gave me an 8 FPS boost.Quad-Views-Foveated (1).log Additionally, I observed that with the plugin enabled during runtime, my CPU usage stays around 80% while GPU usage remains at approximately 96%. Although the in-game visuals on the PC remain smooth at this point, switching to other applications (such as Task Manager or a browser) causes severe stuttering—a single mouse click may take several seconds to register any response. For comparison, when the plugin is disabled, CPU usage drops to around 62% (GPU usage remains at ~96%), and no significant stuttering occurs when switching between applications. I'm not sure if describing these observations will help pinpoint the root cause of the issue, but I’m providing the details in case they’re useful. -
