  1. My suspicion is that the manuals have been removed by ED. As I posted above, I got mine only a couple of weeks ago from Lulu.

I also asked them if they could print it spiral bound, but they said that the publishers wouldn't allow it.

Perhaps Eagle Dynamics is making the move to provide their own printed manuals? I seem to recall ED encouraging us to print our own through sites like Lulu. (or the original post-er to Lulu had to get ED permissions in writing, I forget)

  2. Lulu used to sell it but it seems they don't anymore.

    It looked like this.

Yes, you need a modified version of the file shipped with the sim to have it printed by Lulu.

I have the same from Lulu. I just checked my lulu account, it lists I bought the book, but when I click on the link to book, it says it can't find it. I seem to recall that the original member here who had posted the PDF to Lulu had some issues uploaded, then they (at Lulu) helped him work it out. Perhaps the member deleted his account? Or it expires after awhile? I bought it back in November 2012...for $33 USD. Here is the original thread that most of us bought from.....links no longer work, but perhaps contact the original poster? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1587752

  3. I am in the same boat. I am a A-10C Beta purchaser and should be able to get Nevada terrain. Installed the OpenAlpha, I activated the A-10C, then when I go to "Instant Action" to check out the new map, I get the "Nevada Activation" screen asking for activation code. I entered the A-10C activation code, but does not work. I also checked the DCS website under My Profile, where all my licenses are listed, but nothing there. What am I missing? Can't seem to find the answer in the forums, though there are tons of OpenAlpha questions....just have not found the answer to this one...expect I see the OP has same issue. Thanks.

  4. Guys,is there somebody that recreate 2nd Lt Arthur C.Cundy's P-51D,'Alabama Rammer Jammer',from 352nd FS,353rd FG of period October 1944?

I know 'Archangel' created a superb later version of this skin, but this is an ealier version.

It is quite different,to his later version, for a start it has the black squadron codes on the fuselarge, minus the yellow outline, which was painted/applied only to the later version. The 'B' code has a small dash beneath the letter 'B'on both sides.

It also sports the black vertical stripes on the wings and tail,as well as a horizontal black stripe across the tail.On this version he only has the one kill, there is also a text within a yellowish patch aft of the aircraft name on the port side.

The B/W pictures at the bottom, show Cundy and other members of 353rd FG crowding around this very said aircraft, note the one kill sign under the opened canopy, the last B/W picture shows Cundy and group standing on the starboard side of this aircraft.

I have contacted Archangel but he has not been on here since March so maybe he has gone elsewhere now.I think this is a real beauty of a skin and would love to see it's creation so if there is a skinner out there that could do justice to this aicreaft I would be really grateful, thank you.

Looks like an interesting project. I have only worked on A-10C skins.....is there a layered template file for the P-51?

[edit] Never mind, I found the template on DCS main site.

  5. Just my 2 cents, since this is a thread to get the general community feel on the issues.

I pledged $100 because I believe in DCS, period.

I obviously wanted all the planes, but would also pay again for them....DCS should not be put into financial strain over this debacle.

I also wanted the printed manuals, but honesty...not a big deal. I printed the DCS A-10C manual via an online book printer and would do it again for these manuals, if needed.

Seeing a new map and theater of operation for these aircraft is very important to me.

I am curious about the proposed Map Making SDK. I had a hard time believing it was put on the table during the KickStarter...is DCS still going to back this? As a map maker, I will love it...but also see the flip side with DCS loosing income from future new maps. (though at their current pace with Nevada, they are not making any money anyway :music_whistling::music_whistling:)
