  2. Iguana, do you honestly believe I'd be in the least bit frustrated if I hadn't tried all the above? Why are you talking to me like I'm stupid? I can assure you that starforce registry was copied using both their export utility and manually (after it failed on previous ocassions) and startforce still did not accept it. Also, you really frutrate me further telling me how 'strange' it all is. I can also assure you that starforce HAS refused the key based solely on the fact that the card has changed, and also has done it when I have changed hard drives, added memory, upgraded my processor and reinstalled windows, every occassion I have changed anything! You clearly haven't tested this at all, and please don't be so naive as to think that just because it worked for you it will for everyone, even microsoft aren't THAT arrogant. Don't patronise someone who you believe for whatever reason to be further down the list of 'those who know what they're doing' than yourself, I am well versed in all things PC and perectly aware of what to do in the event things don't work. I'm sending you my login info as you're so far up yourself to refuse to even belive this could possibly happen. Lets see what you make of it, I'll also send you my latest hardware key so you can try the website for yourself aswell. I look forward to your enlightened response.

I said it had been a day and may take a week, maybe you didn't read the post properly. :music_whistling: Anyway, 4 days isn't quick, it's a ridiculous system and only breeds contempt for those that use it - in this age of technology there's absolutely no excuse for not responding within 24hrs, what are they soooo busy with that existing customers fall so far down their priority list, this issue should be addressed and dealt with.
  4. A week? That's absolutely preposterous! Yesterday I mailed them so 6 more days (or thereabouts). I'm all for protecting the game, and I don't have any issues with Starforce, but now (after 2 years from downloading) I have used all my activations and need more, I have upgraded my graphics,.. again! Granted it's lasted 2 years which is probably Ok as far as they're concerned in terms of how often you'd need to request a new key, but what happens when they are no more and there's nowhere to get a key from? No more game? This is really out of order, considering I'm one of those that supported this when it was having all those issues 2 years ago with payment etc, you'd think they'd show a little appreciation for loyalty - Starforce website says the serial number is not recognized, I guess because there was no communication between ED and them so they have no database - this would have really made sense and meant no-one would have to wait. I hope they think of a better method for Black Shark. Rant over. Come on ED, I'm itching to get this back on and play at full settings, you can't make me wait a week, :helpsmilie: :music_whistling::thumbup:
  5. A week? Why, what the hell are they so busy with they can't be bothered sending a key out to an existing customer? That's scandalous in my opinion, and it's clearly done absolutely nothing to curb piracy as it's available on torrent and has been for a long time. I'd rather wait a day for a download than a week for the key. Well done! :mad:

  7. Starforce version 3.4.75 (splinter cell 3) has been emulated, there is an exploit using external USB2.0 equipment.

  9. It must be horrible being you, it's bloody cold out there! :) Where are the pics of one inverted on the other? Bit hard to take? Personally I'd be up to no good with that nurse you mentioned. ;) Nice pics though.
  10. GTR torrent went out in February I think, not that I have it. Starforce 3+ is apparently emulatable but not crackable. Personally I bought FC1.1 the minute it came out, same as I would any other title that had such a dedicated team behind it. Some titles 'deserve' pirating, they're unplayable, behind the times and an out and out rip-off to put it mildly. Lomac has never been that and I sincerely believe that even someone who originally had a pirate copy (for whatever sceptical reason that may have been) then went on to buy the original and will continue to support ED, afterall, that's where the development is and without money there won't be much of that, not for us Westerners anyway. Disclaimer: I do not condone piracy, not in the sense that one person gets for free what another has to pay for. I do not condone theft either, and just as the piracy of software is an exploit, so is making and selling absolute crap to people who are 'so honest they would never pirate anything'. I'll get my coat........

Now there is no download page and I have come to reactivate having changed my processor I cannot get to my serial number anymore, Tech Support misunderstand my enquiry and directed me to the FAQ, despite me forwarding my payal receipt: **(deleted)** I had been playing it fine until I decided to change the processor and there is no information anywhere on retreiving your serial number in this event. **edit** actually there is a download page, the problem lay elsewhere within the transaction history but the problem has been fixed by Tech Support and all is well again, for me at least. :)

I contacted support to tell them I could no longer access the download page to get the Key, here is their reply: Hello, So now you can't access the Star Force activation page for recieve the new activation key? Right? If it is than we can do this: Use the attached FAQ, in item #5.7 is about such case. Good luck Tuseyev Daniel ED lead tester Which directs me to manual activation. Without the key not much use actually, great protection system. Secondly my friend, making bold 'I'm a moderator' statements without backing them up doesn't fool people for long. I'm glad that people are seeing how genuine customers are treated.
  15. Bear in mind 1 hardware component >=40%. I think they screwed up the maths on that one. What constitutes what in terms of percentages? i.e. Processor = 50%, graphics card = 80% etc Why don't they just check the Mac address anyway if they're looking to see if the same copy has appeared on another machine; it's as good as a PC fingerprint and in this day and age (particularly if you're running 1.1) then you're machine has got to have one, about 90% of motherboards have them built in anyway. (is that a genuine statistic or a Starforce elastic one?) Seriously, 1 processor changed and I have the motherboard (obviously part of the equation) The CPU (most definately more than 40% of my hardware apparently, without doubt, allegedly, most likely, catagorically, without question) 3 hard ones and a floppy one (drives), 3 CD/DVDRom devices, 1 soundcard, a USB card, a graphics card, a USB modem, endless permanently connected peripherals etc like my printer, monitor, speakers (all clearly listed in device manager and surely part of the big equation) but somehow I managed to change more than 40% of my hardware?? Actually I went from 2GHz to 2.8 so it's not even a 40% performance jump. Why am I so bothered? Well it doesn't work anymore and I can't activate it. Why? Because I sold the other CPU and I didn't copy the key to anywhere. Why not? Because I didn't anticipate not being able to get my key from ED. You mean you can't? I don't know, they're too busy trying to sell this to you to care about the copy they already sold to me that I can't use anymore. Surely I knew about all the problems though? Actually no, I've been playing the damn game not coming here to talk about it so the first I know of all the trouble is (like most people) when it comes and kicks me in the nads. Do I always answer my own questions like this? Usually, well here anyway. ;) I'm going for some more drugs, you drove me to it ED. :(

I have major issues with activation since changing my processor, coupled with the fact there are bugs with Starforce (it won't perform the hardware scan since changing it) and the 'manual activation' servers are down! Lol, til 'later' apparently. Nice one ED, another unsatisfied customer! So, rather than e-mailing the 'webmaster' or the 'deverlopers' does anyone actually have a an e-mail address for customer support? Thanks in advance, as I'm sure the people here will be infinately more useful than someone who can barely even understand me, geez, I knew it was all too good to be true. :( Digressing........The game is superb btw, compared to the original it's stunning, and until today I had been happily playing it since I got it last week. Then I made that stupid stupid decision of upgrading the CPU while ED are having such issues with everything. What a pleb. :rolleyes:
