Can confirm: It is related to channel 25X

Thanks for that. Could be the issue. However if that WAS the issue, I'm really wondering if it's correct? Tbilsi is a long way to go and you shouldn't be able to pick it up at pattern altitude overhead the carrier? But even if you did, I have no idea how the tacan should behave then.
-
I will do that this evening. You are right I have a script running here. But I just did it because it was the quickest available mission with airborne start and carrier Tacan set. I also experience this behavior in other missions (they also feature scripts, but really simple - completely independent from the one in the .trk file - and should not interfere with the TACAN I guess).
-
Track File added: This is a Air Start Situation directly 6 o'clock of the carrier. You can also reproduce it with air start. Immediately you can see on the Right DDI (HSI) that the Tacan Comes in from the Right while flying straight towards the carrier. When overhead, it seems to be fine. Thanks Bug.trk

Hello together, I am not sure whether this is a bug or a feature by INS improvement. After the last stable patch I once flew again on the carrier. But the Carrier TACAN seems to be off (lateral bias) by some miles. The closer you get to the carrier, the less the bias is. Extreme situation: Land on the carrier and it is correct. How to reproduce: Startup Hornet anywhere (Shore - ALG) or (CV - CV align). Fly to the carrier, set the Tacan, set the BRC and try to find the carrier. Expected Result: You'll be able to find the carrier and intercept the BRC line Behaviour: TACAN position on the HSI has a lateral offset (mostly too far away and on the right side (starboard)). The offset is bigger, the more distance you have to the carrier. As a result of the wrong Tacan position, of course also the needles have a wrong indication, since the position error is high enough to put you on the wrong side. Of course I am waiting until alignment is finished and I have been told that the current indication is wrong and I should at least wait 2 minutes. Now I am unsure if this is a result of a corrupted INS alignment. In case, how would I know when I can switch? Further remark: I do not encounter this problem on shore based TACANs so far. Thanks, Maswi

Hey guys, for a mission I want to run on my server I need some hooks lua. I started out writing my code and testing it in console so far with a fake DCS interface. Everything was working perfectly. I then tried to interface it with DCS, so I put my .lua file into /savedgames/DCS/scripts/hooks Of course it didn't work. At first I thought, I had done something wrong in my script so I simplified it down to something like: local simplescript= {} net.log("this callback has been reached") DCS.setUserCallbacks(simplescript) However, I cannot see the corresponding logs and my script never runs. Forum tells me another guy has kind of a comparable problem here, which was never answered https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=223366 Anyone can help? Thanks

ARDUINO MMJoy2 based Warthog Repair
Maswi replied to Maswi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks very much for your help. I will give it a go this evening when returning from work. I think it is really confusing, since in MMJoy the first pin you see in the dropdown list is actually A0 But now I realized that they do not match the Arduino pins. Assuming that this is going to work: Another question still is open - the axis I found some wiring diagrams for the FCLS or the Cougar stick but they are talking about potis. My warthog is supposed to have hall sensors. It seems the flat cable coming from the plug in the base covers both axis but I absolutely don't have an idea of the wiring or how to connect them. Do you have any information on this? What colors refer to what on the hall sensors? What do I have to configure in MMJoy2? Is it an internal or external ADC? I appreciate this work pretty much, however for my current understanding it is not much of a plugnplay compatibility to Warthog HW. Thanks -
ARDUINO MMJoy2 based Warthog Repair
Maswi replied to Maswi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm not really sure about your answer: I am not using the pro micro board but the Arduino Leonardo as written above. The board is listed here as compatible and has A0 pin. https://github.com/MMjoy/mmjoy_en/wiki/Controllers-(compatible-base-boards) This is why I also can choose A0 inside the SW. When I read through the patch notes it appears the MISO pin can be chosen to be any arbitrary digital pin on the latest version (You also can set it inside the SW). However, I already used the standard ICSP MISO pin of the Leonardo, but it didn't work either. The only thing that is changing is, that on MISO A5, all buttons are red and on ICSP MISO all buttons are white. Pressing a button works never. Any ideas? -
Hello together, some days ago my Hotas Warthog Stick Base PCB got poof :( The stick is Pretty old and out of guarantee, so I decided to try a repair with MMJoy2 based on an Arduino Leonardo. I uploaded the Firmware successfully, as described in the tutorial. I decided to start with the Buttons first. I connected the SPI-CS to A0. GND to GND SPI-MISO to A5 SPI-SCK to SCK on the ICSP and VCC to VIN By using this Image (the Colors were off) http://i.imgur.com/L5guG7g.jpg In the Software, I select button as shift Registers. 3 of 4021. CS at A0 and MISO at A5. And then i write the set to the Arduino. However, when i try to press the Buttons, Nothing happens. To be precise, all Buttons are red all the time. I read often, that it is possible (or even "Plug and Play") with the Warthog HW. But I don't find a detailed implementation of this. Did anyone ever do this, or at least have enough understanding to help me and tell me, what I am doing wrong :)? Thank you!

Maybe i missunderstood, but i think you'll find what you're searching for under: Options -> Controlls Category CDU and/or UFC 0 key 1 key A key B key and so on....
-
Ah. I gave a reason for that, but unfortuanetely my PS moved in between. -> Performance charts.... Look at the performances of those two, and then decide. Look at the gun. Look at the armor. But tell me, which advantage does it have except for cooperation with other systems and fairytale stingers... Haha
-
No it's not me, being an idiot, and not only due to the fact, that i know how to speak with others... I really don't see what you are trying to say with those russian rockets, and i don't see your sarcassm either. Comparing that to stingers on apache... no, there is no difference. As you can read above "... they pissed themselves laughing..." I know exactly what i'm comparing, and guess why... It is my job to know such things. +1 thanks And i don't know why so many people don't get that. It seems that they consider the apache to be some kind of magic elf, being able to do everything. Look at the performance charts of a stinger. What do you want with it in air to air combat. Apache is nothing more than a "flying tank" with a lot of advantages and gadgets, but not more. And they are deployed under air superiority. So in the missions they are used for, they will not have to deal with Air to Air threats, because if they had to, this would not be air superiority. Why should they carry stingers then. If there was the possibility, that enemy A2A threats would start and intercept, an apache would nevery fly without fighter mission in background, protecting it. Deploying an Apache in a A2A zone is just crazy. A tactical aspect, you ruin with a mod like that. The Apache is, for sure, not an ultimate weapon. Stop thinking about it like that. And to be honest, i love the apache due to its aesthetic design. And in its role its just "whoa!" But in that unlikely case, that Apache and KA 50 are meeting in combat, im not so sure if i wanted to pilot the apache. P.S. since you encounter problems with your missions, or you are tired of being shot down by other choppers or fighters, have you ever thought of your missions being unrealistic scenarios? O.o -> Performance charts.... Ah, and excuse my mistakes... it's me... mobile with iphone. It's just horrible

Look you missunderstood what i was talking about. I have no problem with bugs as i know that they simply appear in such huge projects, and believe me... i know what i'm talking about because i work in real life aerospace technology. But like any other company ED should feel some responsibility for their costumers. Well this is what they actually do but... I felt very satisfied with Beta 4 and i thought to myself "wow, seems to be very close to final" And now? It cannot be that there are issues so obvious, catching my eye five minutes after starting. NET ID reset, not in Beta 4 Datalink message transmit, worked in beta 4 (MP) GBUs not synced, everyone sees something else in MP several taxiway issues Buddy lasing worked better in Beta 4. Lots of more things, things which are essential for multiplayer. I asked my self, how final has been tested before release, so that these issues did not attract attention, or did they, and was it released anyway. You cannot argue that this is the point a beta is good for, beause these issues did not appear in Beta 4, at least not in that extent. Search for my posts, i never mocked up because of lacking information of release candidate, and i also was tired of all that dumb "WE WANT BETA 6!!!!" As i said, i have no problems with bugs, even in final. But a final should, from my point of view, definitely be better than that. I love this sim, and i'm looking forward to a patch. ED is best at what they do, sure. That should be constructive criticism, and i think it is appropriate in this case. The sim, and the approach we (the community) and ED are using for coming to that, will not improve by seeing everything through rose coloured glasses.
-
Well i think it's no overstatement. You'll notice, when flying online. In a Lot cases beta 4 is more useful than Final. I praise ED for that Great SIM. And i understand that such a huge project needs patience, But every question for Release date has been smashed down with "its Done when its done" With this prologue in mind it is not so uncommon that People feel disappointed or even upset with that approach. Let's hope a patch will do it.

Ok... I take back everything i said... (seems to be the only sight of these was around 86 or so) lacking information... hmm who cares I really should do some recherche at imdb before posting EDIT: There seems to be another shocking truth.... russians are using Sidewinders :-o

I never told him not to, did I? I see, in fact, there is no problem whit what he does in SP or with his friends in MP. I don't bother and others will either. But isn't this supposed to be a place for an exchange of views? As I stated, i try to make him and others thinking about that. Feeling yourself real by doing so, as he stated is just wrong. Because it is not, that is a fact. And as we know from ED, they worked with those people who, I assume, know the most about that platform. How can I ignore this, and tell myself it feels more real with AA weapons. He can fly with. I want to tell him, that he should simply not feel real with it. Although, he feels like expanding his possibilities and mind, he should know, that in fact he limits it. I simply want to share that thought with him and with others wo think the same way. Anyhow... you seem not wanting to hear that. You put words in my mouth, like me saying "I'm pi**ed off, because he has another opinion than I have, and shoots with Iglas!!!" @Henchman could you please tell me, when you have found the file you are searching for, that I can do so with my non-russian Rayban glasses x)
-
I certainly have no issues. And i can deal with it. The point is not that I do not accept your way. You were the one who criticized the way ED chose. And not in a kind way. Now I criticize your way. What is the problem with it? I thought this forum is for telling others your opinion. Thats what you did, and thats what i did. We are in the mod section aren't we? And mods are there for improvement. What is the problem, discussing the sense of such a mod? You bought the most realistic sim available in that market. A sim which stands for this kind of realism. Now you are going to use a mod which reduces realism. Whats it good for? You are able to shoot iglas now. Don't you feel like cheating? DCS is there for experiencing very real military aviation. What you do is destroying that experience. Not for others, not for me, but for yourself. Whenever you go in combat there will be several issues you'll have to deal with. And in combat, there will always be another factor, which has certain advantages versus your person. Being able to play out these is the skill a soldier, or a pilot needs to survive. Where are we going, if we pull rabbits out of our hat... Mods which give us the weapon we need for every possible situation in field? I did not want to insult you or make you angry. I wanted you to start thinking about that fact. If you start adding iglas, you can go further and add some Hellfires. For sure... you will have more fun, being able to launch some standoff ordnance. As you told us, you seem to be experienced in Black Shark. But you still don't know everything. Enemy Air to Air units are a very difficult issue, pretty sure. But why are you so willing to stop your skill improvement. As others statet, there ARE tactics, techniques or whatever to deal with that in a better way than the one you chose...
-
Exactly. Like already said before. No A2A on Apache either. How about some AGM 158 on my Kamov. I'm pretty sure it would be able to carry (with some wiring and performance improvements). And the capability to deploy long range standoff weapons would make sense for helicopters, the predators or whatever. I'm also pretty sure there might have been some thoughts about that. If I were a coppi pilot in russian or US Army, i'd never fly out of my base without these. So ED why could you not add these to our sortiment and do some pioneer work! Or can anyone do a mod for me? Iglas and AGM 158 for the Kamov! So why would we need the DCS A10C or any more modules then? /sarcassm off

When you Play this Mission with Simple radio the Option for contacting firefly apears After the 3rd waypoint. Because there is only one Area in this Mission firefly can Support you. So you First will have to Fly for about 10 minutes First until firefly is "triggered" and comes in effect.
