DCS: F-14 Air to Air Refueling Tutorial
sandman330 replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Hey all, I have an issue with contacting the tanker. I have tuned the frequency in manually and I have also used Jestar to tune for me, and I can see him doing that. But whenever I call the tanker, I get no response. I would appreciate your help. And yes my radios are on ;) -
This an inconvenience to people who have paid a significant amount of money not only for this head set, but for the modules and support towards DCS, Steam and the like, but more importantly this is a major risk to someone's personal health. Permanently damaging their eye sight and not to mention other inherent or latent medical issues that could arise. Perhaps they might want to focus on this issue and take it a little more seriously than updating the livery or 'wear and tear' of an object you cant really see anyway. :music_whistling:

exactly as you mentioned.

Hi Alex, thank you for your input. My Odyssey + is 800ZBA. I have read that it also has occurred on the Odyssey. WMR and Seam VR applications are all clear and not misaligned (well for myself anyway) I only have flight sim stuff on my rigs, But IL2 is clear smooth and aligned. For me when DCS (non steam DCS version) starts, the menu looks clear, readable, and nothing to much out of shape, as with in game, there is something not right and you can feel it in the eye, but on a visual standpoint, it is fine...as your brain adjusts for the misalignment.... However, when I take the headset off after say 5 mins, I am cross-eyed. The HMD seems ok, as it works in other apps. Seems its a software/driver/compatibility/conflict issue. I am no software expert and therefore relying on the wisdom of professionals like yourself who are skilled in these areas. Thanks again.

Thanks everyone for your valuable input. Sorry for my absence in the posts. I have tried almost everything bar sending it back for a refund. I did try the latest update and I too experienced the same as 13WELT_JankeS. IL2 works well, no cross eyed effect there. Seems to be selective. Although I find it very interesting that there are people out there that have the Odyssey + and have no misalignment with DCS. How can it be. I have 2 rigs. The one I mentioned on my original post (in Hong Kong) and my other is essentially the same but with 2 GTX 1080ti in SLI (in Japan). Everything is underwater and overclocked. I am still getting the same issue on that rig as well. Thanks again.

Hello all, I have read and read and I have seen others with the same issue.. BUT no true fix (for me). I have just received the Odyssey+ and I play DCS (Non Steam). As far as I know, the Samsung Odyssey and similar HMDs requre Steam VR. I have noticed that within Steam VR the visuals are clean and crsip. Within Windows Mixed reality portal, it too is clear and crisp. However when you load DCS, the vision becomes cross-eyed.. clear but cross-eyed. I have seen screen shots showing the misalignment in game of about 1 degree. I am not 100% familiar with Steam, and only use it for VR as I have no other option to run the Odessey+. (I use to have Oculus.) Is there a fix for this bug in steam? or a guide to help remove this issue? why does this happen when loading DCS (I see it also happens to other select programs too). I have tried the 'Revive 1.6.2' fix which uses Oculus home. (weird). doesnt work for me at least. Is it a steamVR, DCS or the Odyssey+ issue..? I have the latest Nvidia drivers as of this post, lastest windows update and all drivers. My rig : ASUS ROG Maximus X Apex, 32GB DDR4 Gskill RGB 3000, i7-8086 @ 5.2ghz (water), Zotac GTX 1080ti OC, 1200wwwt PSU.. I would sincerly appreciate all your help, expertise and direction. Thanks in advance.

Hi BD, I did mission 7 again and it all worked..... i did nothing different. On to mission 8! Cheers

Hi BD, Yep still no joy. Even worse now. It wont even trigger at WP2 for Berger to contact me. I have completed the full alignment, entered the WP altitudes, completed the radio procedures, yet nothing will trigger at WP2. It says join up with Berger -1 at WP2, I do exactly that, I fly close formation, open formation, trail below above, I have even orbited WP2, I have tried everything conceivable except shoot him down with frustration. I am flying the altitudes and speeds (ground speeds) mentioned in the briefing. So I am out of ideas. I truly like the campaign when it works, very well put together and very immersive, especially in VR! however I will stop playing it now as I am just tired of having to re fly missions several times to get it to trigger/or not. regarding altitudes, does the campaign consider transition altitudes/levels? I am not sure what the transition Alt/level is for the Caucasus region. This is the only thing I can think of that is not triggering the next thing. I am flying at 986mb as mentioned in the briefing, setting a standard pressure setting will have me fly lower.. Just a thought. I will wait for your reply. Thanks again SM

Hi BD, thanks for your reply, sorry for my delayed response. I will give it a go now. Let you know. Thanks again

Cant finish Mission 7 Hi all, Mission 7 wont complete. My issue is, when I fly to WP2, link up with the IP, he then shadows us at FL200 (although he only flies at FL165 and at 193kts) I see some ground explosions on my right enroute to WP3. My guy checks in and we dont get tasked. So we continue to WP4. I dont hear anything from anyone so I fly WP3 and WP2 as required on the briefing. I see that my IP has just entered endless orbits somewhere near WP4. I then head to WP5 and destroy the ground targets for practice, also as requested if it was all quiet on the patrol. Once they are destroyed, I then RTP and also send my wingman to RTB. Not sure what the mission has since I can not get past it. It just wont trigger something or what am I doing wrong? I appreciate your help! :helpsmilie: Cheers Sandman

Thanks a lot for your response and guidance Shadow! will check it out. Cheers! :pilotfly:

Hi All, Perhaps this may have been addressed in previous posts. However the issue I am having is, when following the IP (mission 5 I believe, where you are doing bomb training then get tasked off), following the IP, insert the new coordinates, fly there and anchor. The IP just enters a holding pattern at 15000' for ever. There is no further updates or instructions from the mission controller, or the IP, he doesn't talk nor is there any 'F10' option in the comms menu. I have watched you tube videos of others doing it, and where they get further tasking, my IP just abruptly enters a holding pattern for ever. I need to either got to the tanker or just end the mission, he seems to have infinite fuel as well. I have tried this mission several times and the same issues occurs. Any ideas on this would be appreciated. Thanks a lot! Sandman.

Multi Monitor zoom/FOV issue in latest Dcs world.
sandman330 posted a topic in Multi-Monitor Support
G'day all, I am having an issue with the zoom/FOV when in game, I have read the 'multi monitor for dummies' thread however can't seem to find and fix the zoom issue in the current dcs world. I recall having this sorted earlier on however went back to single screen due to the lack of support for SLI etc. I decided to run the 3 x 24" screens again...:helpsmilie: What I see I game is if I was sitting right up with my face in the HUD/Front panel, I zoom out as much as it allows me but it is still super close. I appreciate all your help with this and I understand if this has been explained to no end. Regards Sandman :joystick: -
Sounds great! A10C Blue Side would be appreciated. Thanks!

Operation ''Haunted Georgia'' Online Multiplayer Campaign
sandman330 replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Agreed, it was definitely a great mission! well co-ordinated. Dogfights were great, and target position information was well done thanks to the Ground Commanders. Thanks for lending me an A10C! Look forward to the next one Cheers Sandman -

DCS World - seriously bad framerate
sandman330 replied to Private-Cowboy's topic in Game Performance
Yep that is true.. Hence why I/we receive information, help, tweak guidance and the like form others out there on these forums, that are more clued on with that side of computer coding etc.. Anyhow enough talking, time to go flying. :pilotfly: -
Hi Teej, I am running multi screens (check my sig) and I have 2 GTX580's. I am currently running DCS off essentially one card because there is an issue with multi screens and running in nVidia surround. I have gone away with the surround issue as it only limits you to 3 screens AND they have to be the same.. I am running 4 of my screens off one card, I am using TH2GO digital edition for the 3 x 24"s and the 23" touch screen off the 2nd card. I have selected 'activated all displays' on the nVidia control panel, I have the control panel set as default (seems to work for me) and I am getting 48FPS sitting on the runway at Batumi. In flight it is pegged at 60FPS (my refresh rate is 60hz) and only rarely will it dip to about the mid 40s when a lot is going one. I have everything set to high ( I like eye candy.. I guess I want to have my cake and eat it too) When you go mulit screens the immersion is great, you will never go back!

DCS World - seriously bad framerate
sandman330 replied to Private-Cowboy's topic in Game Performance
I agree with you macedk, however I have dabbled in the support ticket side of things, especially in the early days trying to export, run multi screens be it with SLI or infinity, and to be quite honest I received no help in the matter, it seemed like the guy responding to me didn't have a clue. I have received excellent information and solutions from fellow simmers on this forum. There is always a post there somewhere that will hit the nail on the head. -

And yes I too have noticed an FPS boost in world. I guess you take the good with the bad :music_whistling: -

@ Skymad, have you gone into your BIOS and turned off multi threading? being a CPU intensive sim, disabling multi threading will boost your FPS. -
DCS World - seriously bad framerate
sandman330 replied to Private-Cowboy's topic in Game Performance
Pikey, not sure if your message was aimed at me, but just to clarify before one sh#ts in their nest, I have no performance issues, although as I mentioned earlier there has been a lot of tweaking, but I am running 5 yes that's right 5 screens and getting a solid 60 FPS, the worst I get is 40 and be it on the rare occasion. People are allowed to express their opinion, opinions are like a@s holes everyone has one. No one is moaning, merely sharing experience. -
DCS World - seriously bad framerate
sandman330 replied to Private-Cowboy's topic in Game Performance
Private-Cowboy, I understand your frustration and I am sure a lot of others share this with you, me included. Although I do like the whole concept of world, and believe it is a great idea (my opinion).. The ease of jumping into another type whilst in multiplayer is a winner in my eyes. I am not one to slag off a company, but I do share the frustration when a game is no longer a 'beta' version, that it still is full of bugs, incomplete menus in single player. Also one thing that really frustrates me as from what I have read, as with a lot of other players, is the fact that the multiplayer server is very intermittent, random crashes 'DCS stopped working' not only do you get this in game and usually when towards the end of a long mission, but almost nightly when trying to load up and join multiplayer. This is rubbish. BMS use a campaign engine from the late 90's that is rock solid.. here we are in 2012..... yeah you get my point.. I also seem to spend a lot of time tweaking my system to allow this game to operate at its full potential, no why is that? maybe if it would utilise your systems hardware efficiently we might not have this issue, but who am I to say.. but instead I have to over clock my system in order to achieve playable frames.. this too is frustrating. With regards to the 3rd party developers, I welcome them, but can not help to be slightly skeptical in the fidelity of the 3rd party addons.. Time will tell, but so far I am very impressed with the modeling. One thing I am very impressed with is the visuals/effects that Seven-g have with their F-18. Wing flex under high load, weapon pylons wobble etc. That's my beef. :smartass:
