I had similar problems with the ARC (during the training I had to reset the thing several times).
I also noted something during a mission of the campaing (the one where you need to ferry from Krymsk to Kutaisi), I don't know if it's related:
At first I though the ARC wasn't working since the needle was always pointing up, until I started a left turn and then the needle started to move to the right.
But as soon as I was going right, the needle would go no further than straight forward direction.
I don't know if this helps finding the problem, here another way to describe what I saw:
- Station is on the right, needle points to the right.
- begin right turn, the needle still point to the correct azimuth
- at a point where the aircraft is aligned with the station, the needle stops moving and gets stuck pointing up.
EDIT: reproduced:
- open mission editor
- setup a MiG with first waypoint pointing to a station (example: Kutaisi airbase, 3/I-4)
- start flying, setup ARC as above, flip ARC/RSBN switch to ARC
- make left and right turns and watch the needle getting stuck when the station is on the left.
If you make a full 360° turn right, the needle goes to its correct position when aligned with the radial, station directly behind own ship.
On full 360° left turn the needle was always good.
Wild guess: bug on negative ARC relative azimuth :D
