  1. Unfortunately, it'll remain like that for the whole flight. :(
  2. Hey everyone, Recently I've gone back to trying to fly the Ka50 and I seem to have an issue with the cockpit light levels. I use an HTC Vive and fly in VR. It's OK on the mission brief page, but as I click the 'Fly' button, after about 2 secs, it's like someone has turned on a spotlight and everything is far too bright. The cockpit lights are selected to 'off'. It really hard to spot targets on the Targeting display screen as it's like trying to watch TV when the sun shining on the screen. It's present in openbeta and release for me. Ive tried messing with settings and adjusting the gamma, but to no avail. I'm not sure when this started happening as I've not flown the Ka50 for quite a while. It also affects the default english, russian and Ricardo's cockpit mod. I'm not really sure what else to try. Is this a new bug that's crept in during one of the updates or am I just being dippy?
  3. This is currently driving me nuts! If I try and run DCS with Nvidia Geforce experience installed it crashes within minutes of flying. DCS starts up fine, it'll let me select what mission/instant action I want to fly, but as soon as I start flying DCS stops working. If I close GeForce experience, it still crashes, if I uninstall GeForce experience it runs ok. I really want to keep Geforce Ex as I like to use Shadowplay in other games, it's convenient and I'm lazy. Does anybody else run Geforce Ex ok with a vive and have no probs in DCS? Does anybody have a solution? My event viewer says it my d3d11.dll that's the problem. I've updated GFX drivers with a clean install etc. Help, please anybody, your my only hope Obi Wan........ oh wait Thanks anyway, Jonney. 4. Firstly, thanks to both of you for the replies. I tried what you said zafgev, and indeed, it appears Nvidia GeForce experience was causing the problem. I uninstalled it earlier and have been able to fly, uninterrupted for the best part of a few hours. Problem solved for the moment! Thanks, Jonney
  5. I was wondering if anyone can help me. When playing DCS world 1.5 or the Nevada map on DCS 2.0 I get the game freezing and not restarting. The view on the Vive is just the black square with the three white lines and the monitor just shows the last frozen image I saw. It can happen after any random amount of time and is not affected by what aircraft I am flying. I have totally re downloaded and reinstalled DCS World 2.0 and have deleted my DCS folder in saved games. None of the above has made the slightest difference, nor has messing around with gfx settings or changing asynchronous or interleaved projections in steam VR. I've searched google and this site and can find anything so far that will cure my issue. Maybe I'm just not looking for the right thing, I don't know. If I look at the logfile that is created in my DCS folder it often seems to end with:-WARNING DXGUI: Invalid blur type! I'm not sure whether that is cause or effect tbh. I'm running an Intel i7 6850K@4.2, a GTX1080 and have 32 Gb of memory so I don't think I'm pushing the envelope of my system too much. Anyway, thanks for reading and if anyone has any suggestions for me to try or requires anymore info, please post away. Thanks, Jonney.
  6. So that's it then, no steam release for the UK, ever? Might have been nice for ED and Steam to tell people in the release announcement that you can't, and won't be able to get it the UK. Edit: I see Wags has added the 'Not available in the UK' to the release announcement. Thanks for that, It'll stop some confusion anyway.
  7. So what's the score with the UK market? Are we getting it or will we be left out? Been waiting weeks for the Steam release and now I'm feeling totally gutted. Anyone from ED care to comment as there is no mention that I can see of who's getting it and who's not.
  8. Some do, like Panavia Tornado for example with the use of 'clamshell doors', but reverse thrust will only deploy once the 'weight on wheel' switch is active. i.e. you have to be on the ground with weight on the wheels before it will deploy. No aircraft is capable of 'reverse thrust' whilst it is still in the air.
  9. Excellent, thanks all for you speedy responses. Jonney
  10. When the Steam version is released will it be 32 or 64 bit, or both? I gather from reading this forum that the sim has both 32 bit and 64 bit installers, but you have to select which one to use based on your operating system. Will the Steam version have this option or will it automatically give you the correct version based on what you are using? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but it just popped into my head and I had to ask. Keep up the good work and I hope to be joining you all in the air very soon. Jonney. (When's the Steam version due out anyway :music_whistling:, sorry, just had to ask:punch:)
  11. I'm hanging on every post about a Steam launch too. Really hope it's the 22nd or before but I'm not pinning too much hope on it as there have been no official comment that I can find apart from the 'about a month after' the full game was released. I assume it'll probably just appear as there is nothing in the 'coming soon' section of steam. Oh well, back to Portal 2 and waiting.
