I was just messing around and decided to shoot a maverick at a pretty large building. After it hit, I decided to keep the TGP on the building and watch the fireworks lol. To my surprise, after about 10 seconds or so of fire, I saw the building collapse from my mfd! I was pretty shocked the physics was being modeled and decided to look at the building with my very own eyes and wouldn't you know it, it really did collapse into a ball of ashes. It was pretty sweet!

I recently sold my gaming laptop and won't be playing anymore. Does anyone need to buy it still? I will sell it for $40.

Do all missions tell you "mission complete" if you completed your objectives? Specifically, the mission Defend Camp Yankee. JTAC told me to RTB and having landed, I did not get anything indicating that I had finished the mission.

I totally agree with this. It seems to go from 180 to 175 at the end of refueling. No wonder it is so darn tough to get a full tank!

I didn't have as good as luck as you, unfortunately. The Witcher 2 had to redownload it's entire 12+ gb just for a patch! :cry:

Don't get me wrong, I love Steam, but unfortunately not so much how updates are handled :doh:

So I tried again hoping to get more fuel than previous attempts. This time I was able to get my fuel to 9000, but then the tanker said "transfer complete" and disconnected. Does this mean I received a full tank? I thought the capacity was closer to 10,000.

Piece of cake, really. Just download 1.1.0.8 from the DCS downloads section, uninstall your A-10 Steam version completely, back up your A-10 Warthog folder from your "users/saved games" directory, and install the standalone version. Then put the backed up folder back to where it was. The new install even uses the same key from Steam. Good luck to you!

I had the Steam version as well, and changed last week to the standalone version from the ED website. The same key worked! I am very happy I made the switch.

Thanks everyone, I finally got it working. I finally got my first full refuel today! I was wondering why the heck the tanker RTB'd, and then realized I was topped off. I believe it was 7000lbs? It was exhilirating, since only a few days ago I quit AAR thinking there was no way I would be able to do it. To everyone thinking they can't I can assure you - it IS possible!

Not really related to the game, but just stumbled upon this and thought it was great stuff.

So do custom missions made in an earlier version of the simulation work properly when a patch is applied? Have there been issues in the past with compatibility? Just wondering if all the missions I've downloaded might have slight "bugs" with 1.1.0.8.

I haven't tried 10Y, but was using 10X (which worked before in 1.1.0.7). Thanks for taking a look for me!

This particular AAR mission worked in 1.1.0.7. Just tried it with .8, and I can't find the tanker or contact it! I wonder if the version changed bonked the mission? Can someone try it out and verify that it's not working with them as well? Thanks. AAR Refueling Practice.miz

Why does ATC say "negative" when I request for startup?

That's what I figured too, and in fact it was visible at engine idle in 1.1.0.7. Now it only shows up if I advance the throttle past idle. Personally, I liked the way it was before. But beggars can't be choosers!

All I gotta say is that I just spent close to $50 bucks at a movie theater last night for me and my gf (tickets, drinks and all that jazz). Two hours later, I'm wondering where it all went hahaha. This sim is definitely worth the price tag and more, since I'm probably at 50 flight hours already and I'm just getting started. The question is whether people want to pay for something's true value.

Nevermind, just found out the changed it. It only shows up when you apply throttle input now. Interesting.

How come prior to 1.1.0.8, I could see the heat blur when on the ramp (external view). Now I can't see it; I do have Textures high, Shadows high, but Scenes low. I must be doing something wrong, or this is a new thing from the patch.

Did you try TMS left short?

With the Mav as SOI, press China Hat Forward Short (v) to zoom on the slaved target and then TMS Forward Short (ctrl + arrow up) and it should lock up.

Is this the only file needed to transfer the logbook to a new installation? Thanks!
