    I flew on the 169th a couple of days ago and was chasing a guy around, I was at his 6 with a perfect radar lock for a long time and as soon as I fired a sarh at him, i lost my lock... every time...

    I had to wait to get into ER range...

     

    That was because of the ECM, right? It pretty much rendered all my radar missiles useless

    Greetings everyone,

    I got a few silly questions but I cant really figure it out, these are all for the russian birds. Lets assume the su-27/33 as the mig got a lower detection range

     

    How can you estimate a target range based on their hud/mfd positions without locking them up?

     

    If someone tells you that there are bandits at X altitude right ahead of you, it's obvious wether you should move the scan cone up or down depending on the target altitude compared to yours, but exactly how much should you move it? Is there any way of accurately knowing or do you just have to guess?

    Just thought i would share this with you, I spotted this on a swedish news site:

    The government says Yes to developing a new generation of Jas 39 Gripen and modernising our old planes

     

    The Super-Jas, or E/F-version of the Jas Gripen is planned to have a stronger engine, better radar, bigger fuel tanks, longer range and larger storage capacity, more weapons and more variated weapons load

     

    The article mentions that the new engines will have 30 percent better drag force (? sorry, my english isnt all that good), stronger wings and new electronics and aerial refueling capability

     

     

     

    This isnt a very technical article but atleast its something :thumbup:

    Afaik everything is flyable, some of the things you see there isnt publically available as its upcoming in a new patch..

     

    Armed Assault is primarily a infantery simulator, for everything else (tanks, choppers, planes, boats) its not so realistic. Decent. But if you are expecting realism for say the airplanes then you are clearly not looking at the right game.

     

    It's just a bit of "all around" and Armed Assault is made by the same devs as Operation Flashpoint, expect heavy support from the modding community.

    We basically expect you to be able to fly the aircraft safely,

     

     

    Piece of cake, allthough to some thats harder than you think..

     

    I had a friend of mine run into me with his su-27 going excess 1k km/h. Apparently the fact that our planes suddenly got real big rapidly didnt bother him :music_whistling:

    Thanks for your offers, It's great coming back to see all these many people interested in getting more meatshields

     

    I cant believe I completely missed that one, I live in Sweden so I am active during the European evenings. :)

    Nice links, I had no idea Lockonfiles even had a section for squadrons, I cant honestly say I have looked around on the site as I have mainly used it for mod downloads though thus I figured asking here would be the best place as its the most active place for LO:FC players to meet.. well a part from hyperlobby of course ;)

    Im going to look around for a bit and try get in touch with some of the squadrons that seems interesting for me and from there I guess we'll see what happens.

    Hello everyone.

     

    I obtained FC only a couple of days ago, I have been playing 1.02 for a couple of months but only with people less experienced than me..

     

    Im not very good (read: quite bad) but am willing to learn, and Im looking for a squadron to join.

     

    The few times I have had the pleasure of playing online with my brand new FC copy, it feels like everyone is running around doing their own thing with no teamwork what so ever..

     

    oh and I fly su-27/mig-29 most of the time.

    Have tried the A2G planes, they are fun but I prefer A2A
