  1. If you are using 1080p resolution you are becoming CPU limited. Since game use only two cores it's important to have high IPC wich OPs CPU lack. Faster GPU will only incrise this ( you;ll have less benefit ). Now, the thing with gtx970 is it's serial nature, and no amount of optimization will help. With 1070 thing is a little better but not drastic. On the other side AMD async engine is god given for VR with proper implementation. You should really try it somewhere and then decide, because fps don't tell the whole story.
  2. Better CPU would help a little, but if you can, you should try AMD card. It works better with VR, but how much better you should verify yourself. Anything lower form nVidia 980Ti is known to cause nausea.
  3. First of all, great work. It's my favorite bird. Watching your youtube video i noticed that you modeled HUD camera. I belive that it's not standard equipement, it's sight intrusive and it's just plain ugly. Would you consider to remove it? And once again great work.
  4. The model have close to 10k triangles, but it's mostly textures that are amateurish. And, I don't plan to use it in FC. Acctualy, I learned a little bit of C#, and I've started to write my own physic and flight controler as a proof of concept. If I'm succesfull, maybe a new flight sim? Who knows?
  5. Damn! Some of this guys are realy put me to shame, but here's my little contribution. My first attempt of 9.19. (with horrible textures). I'll redo this from the start. Could anyone comment is this looking at least a little bit decent?
  6. Hope someone could menage this. Thanks.
  7. And more...
  8. Reffering to the pic D0, it seems that the refferenca area is indeed the wing area from Lift equation ( on D0 it is S ). But it still is not logicall for me, becouse graphs shows Cd (Cx on graphs) of the whole airframe with different loads ( Missiles, bombs etc. ). But, trying to translate from Russian is hard enough, so I'll post pages from Aerodynamic manual, maybe someone could find out what area is used there.
  9. Will it be a mistake if i calculate drag area by calculating cross section of an airplane based on the blueprins? What value for drag area did ED team use ( if it's not classified )?
  10. Eh, I feel little embarressed... But, i forgot one important thing. In drag equation ( D= 0.5*Cd*R*V^2*A) where A is referance area. I could not find value for A on Mig-29. It's not the same area from Lift equation as i understand. Does anyone know this value for Mig?
  11. It's unrealistic, but I would love an Su-24.
  12. Man, I'm lost reading all this. Just one thing to confirm. ED team used values of CL in the form of table, and not calculating it as math function?
  13. So, what M means. Is it Mach number?
  14. Thank you for your answers. On the first graph on the curve it says (without rockets, with rockets) but that's not very important right now. On this graph taken from MiG29 aerodynamics manual, i see that Cl vary a lot for different velocities. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/5/cl2qs.jpg/ Anyway, now I have enough to research. Thank you all. ( In Russian, Cy = Cl ).
  15. Hi, I'm interested in flight dynamics and simulation, and I need some help. Wing area of MiG-29 is about 38m^2. Is this just the wings or all areas that creating lift (elevators, LERX, space between engines)? In modern lift equation, did you use only wing area or sum off all lifting surfaces? http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/32/94000957.jpg/ Here is the lift coefficient of MiG. I presume that this is result in wind tunel testing. In modern lft equation, you need to know either lift or Cl. Is there any math function that represents the curve on te diagram, or did you use cases ( like, if velocity is 0,6M then Cl is 0,071 etc.)? And, is ther any way to obtain L or Cl without kowing either of the two? Maybe I'm asking to much, but thanks in advance.
