  1. NeoJD and mates If you try everything above and it didn't work, please check device manager tree and look for HID keyboards. Maybe you have two devices: one right and other wrong. Turn off automatic software updates and win7 auto update drivers. Go to keyboard properties and see which one have only 3 tabs. The right one keyboard have 4 tabs (with energy management). Manually update drives for the second and choose HID compliant device instead of HID keyboad option. If win7 overwrote the right HID driver when you plug the cougar in an USB port previously used by the USB HID keyboard this will fix it. The HID game controller will popup in HID device manager section. I had the same problem with mine and only discovered the wrong driver address after read this thread and comparing the specs with my system. I spent three days to fix it and almost ordered other hotas.
