In a moment of weakness... ... Bought it as well.

Howdy! Sorry for the late answer... Thanks for the replies. In the end, I guess you're all right. Going to slowly learn the A-10C. I have the bad habit to always look at everything all at once which ends up in confusion / frustration. So I'll follow advice and take simple steps one by one. Let's start that plane and take off! And... since there's deal on some birds right now, I think I'll get the Mig21 and keep it in the hangar for later. ;) Appreciated your input, was very interesting to read. - Delerium.

:) In fact, I was wondering if the a-10a was a good transition to the a-10c. Until next year, I won't have time to dig the a-10c... So I'm learning the easier birds for now, on which I can have more "immediate" results. But I still plan on getting dirty with the a-10c for sure at a later time. I was basically wondering if some aspect (weapon employment for example) of the a-10a was applicable to the a-10c as well. If not, I might simply skip the a-10a ;) - Rock on! :punk:

Howdy, First of, thanks to all who help me out. I'm having good time with the Su-25t and getting better. When I launch the game, I always have my a-10c sitting there, waiting... Like mention earlier on, I don't have that much time to sim these days but I will probably once the years is over. I understand that the A-10A is a "low fidelity" implementation vs the full blown a-10c. My question is: Does the a-10a and a-10c have enough similarities that what I could learn with the a-10a is transposable to the a-10c? Also, I've tried to google/youtube for tutorial on the a-10a and can't seems to find a good series of videos like the one proposed for the su-25t? Is there anything similar available? Thanks! ;)

Yup, I did a quick test on lunch time, and just changing setting up dcs.exe in the NVidia panel (prefer max perf).. I'm now roughly at 80/100FPS :) Thanks for that. I'll do a clean install later this evening and see if I can get better result. But right now, I'm happy. Also the fan is super quiet compare to my old card, which is a big plus!!! Cheers! :drink::thumbup: -

Howdy, I uninstall the AMD driver from the control panel, that's all I did. I'm planning to do a clean re-install of Win10 when the November update drops (supposed to be today / tomorrow) and see if that helps. Also, I did install the whole package, including the GeForce experience app. I also installed the PrecisionX tool for the EVGA card, but I did not tweak anything yet. In the NVidia control panel, everything seems to be Application controlled.. Well, everything that can be. For now, I think my best bet is to do a clean install, I had that in mind since I don't trust the AMD uninstall, at, all. I'll post again after this clean install. Happy day! -

Hi, I got the new card yesterday! Installed the new beast and I did not see much much more improvement over the 7970, surprisingly. With everything at high, cockpit frame at 1024, slightly more bushes/trees, I roughly get a 40fps on the runway and somewhere between 60-80 when flying. As PureEvil, the OpenBeta 1.5 seems to do a good job even with my 7970. I barely had the time (only test it out for about 15 mins) to do more digging yet, but I was expecting better results :( I'll post screenshot of my setting a bit later on (I'm at work so..) btw, the game is very playable and looks beautiful, so there's no real issue there, maybe my expectation were a bit too high. :music_whistling: - D. -

Great. I just found the FTW (and the meaning of) on Amazon. A bit pricey, but too be expected for high-end video card. Do you think it could handle my current monitor + another standard (1080p) as well? Thanks! -

Thanks. I'll probably get a EV GTX 970. Do you have the specific model? Seems like there's is 32 variants of them on Amazon! Is it this on? 04G-P4-2978-KR http://www.amazon.ca/EVGA-GeForce-Quieter-Graphics-04G-P4-2974-KR/dp/B00NVODXR4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1447093584&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+gtx+970 Right now, my CPU is not overclocked, I have CoolerMaster 12EVO that I never installed, I think I will try OC and see if I get any benefits. Thanks ! -
Hello, So I was just started playing DCS over the week-end and it seems my Radeon ATI 7970 is a bit behind. At high, I get some little lag / sluggish moments. 1) Any of you runs the 7970 at High without any issue? ( I was wondering if it could be my setup) 2) For a new card, I've read that the GTX 970 is the best choice around, this apply to DCS as well? 3) While checking for a new GPU... Should I check for a CPU as well? I have currently have a i7-3770k System Spec: Intel i7-3770k 24GB Ram 2 x 250 SSD ATI Radeon 7970 Monitor: ASUS PB278, 2560 x 1440, 27" Thanks!

Hi, I end up picking the Su-25T for now. I watched a small video and the fact that is has a HUD was a plus. I watch all 10 tutorials on Steam (thanks for links!) and it got me going! I really need some practice since I can barely hit a target while trying to compose with the all keys shortcuts / buttons but I'll get used to it. Only played about 2 hours for now, and hopefully I'll be able to play a bit more this week. Anyhow, just wanted to thanks all of you for the advises you gave me, really appreciated. Later.

I'm getting a bit confused with all the models to be honest. ;) What's the main difference between the Su-25 and Su-25T? The "T" is a later variant more equipped / high tech?
-
Thanks folks. I'm about to start the training for the Su-25. I was wondering if all those birds can be played online? Like the A10-C and the Su-25 on the same mission for example?! I'll the the Mig-21 in consideration a bit later on since it's not free. Thanks!
-
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Might have some time this evening to do / watch some training. Wish me luck! Later.

Thanks for tips! I do not have any rudder pedals so that will come handy! Isn't there some rudder keys that can be map to the keyboard?

Hey, I'm very grateful for all your answers. Good thing, I just realized that I bought the FC3 package a while back (Getting old, apparently). Seems like the TF-51 and the Su-25 got some vote. Also, stick with the A10-C and learn bit by bit, which could be another approach. I'll give both the TF-51 and Su-25 quick try (training thing) and pick the one I prefer. Of course, I do not put the other model / planes / helos aside. But I'll try to get familiar with the weaponry of one model first, and then expand my knowledge as I go (A10-C, looking at you bad boy!). Good thing is that so far, I might have a few hours this week-end. Thanks. ;)

Wow! I did not expect that number of quality answers answer. Thanks! Indeed, I forgot some background: Where are you on the flight sim/aviation learning curve, and what do you need/want to learn? I've been playing MS FSX for a while. I would say I'm "OK" with flight instruments. It's mostly the weapons system that seems complicated. As someone stated, I bought the A10-C a while back and was having a hard time to launch a single something! What kind of controller do you use, and what are you willing to invest (long term)? I have the ThrustMaster Hotas Warthog Are you interested at all in helicopters? Could be. But I heard it's actually harder than a plane? But I never tried, and I'm not close to the idea at all I think I would prefer ground bombing to start it. I follow the suggestion and try the TF-51 since it's free. But paying for another model is not a big issue either. I also like the idea of "vigilante87" .. To move up the eras ;) Ho..I just realized there's a A-10A and the A-10C Warthog. I do have the later, and I find it a bit hard. Thanks folks, appreciated!

Hi folks, I was wondering what is the best plane to get started? By that, I mean what is the the easiest one of all of them? I did try the A10C (bought it a while back) and it requires a huge learning. Don't get me wrong, I do understand that it's a simulator and there's a learning curve. I was just wondering if there one of the plane out there that is easier to learn and requires a bit less time to learn?! My hobby time is, sadly, a bit limited: :( Thanks, appreciated.
-
Thanks for the input. I did not had a lot of time this week to play / sim. I watch 2 videos and wrote down some notes, with the keys for certain functions. I'll take a look at the PDF you mention. Thx

I finally bought it! Wondering, I did not find any interactive missions (with key explain, etc) .... I have downloaded the videos for Flight Shcool / A10A, but no mission where I can do as told. Is that a separate download as well (can't find on DCS website). Thanks alot guys! - Del
-
You rock guys! I will buy it, but one last Q: Is there training video for FC3 or even interactive video just like in A10: Warthhog? - Del
-
Thanks Folks, I will give it a try I think... One of the thing I was issue to learning in A10 Warthog is the MFCD control, it's complex to me ;) But for sure. I am willing to learn, while having fun... 2 years ago, I did not even knew what "flap" and "trim" was, or ILS / VOR, etc, etc, etc... Btw, does the HOTAS Warthhog is working great in FC3 ? And what plane in FC3 would you try first? Maybe I should start with ground target instead of dogfight. Thanks again for your input. - Delerium

Hi Folks, I do have A-10C and the learning curve is pretty steep. Not that I'm not willing to learn, but sometime, I only want to play a little more simple game. I know that FC3 is much more easy, but does it worth it, since the SU-25T comes with DCS:World? There is a couple of new planes that could be cool... Also, is the download really only 218MB ? Seems little to me... Thanks to everyone. - Delerium

It's me again ! ;) I was wondering if there is any advantage / difference between the Su-25 that is bundle with World vs FC3 ? Since I'll start learning it, better get the latest one I believe... Pre-Ordering FC3 is no issue for me, I have a few spare dollars. Best Regards from..... ha well.... you know! ;) Delerium
