Sorry to beat a dead horse, but what exactly does remodeling the cockpit mean? Is this the scripting model that would have to be rewritten to make the buttons and switches work with the updated engine, or would the geometry have to be reworked? I have never worked on a DCS game, so I have no insight into the technical issues, but if it's the latter, can't a proxy model be used to generate shadows like with the exterior model? I'm sure ED has thought of all this stuff so if they don't incorporate dynamic shadows into the Ka-50 cockpit it's for good reasons. Just wanted to ask because it would add a lot to the immersion of the sim with rotor blade shadows and stuff in the cockpit :)
