  1. I can't reproduce your wing drop after AP disconnection.

But this is bad practice to disconnect during a turn, your plane will be trimmed for the turn.

I'm disconnecting after the turn. That's why I said turn left and be flying straight and level again. It's not happening right now either. It's rare when it happens, but I've had it happen 3 times in the last few days. It doesn't seem to happen in alt hold only attitude hold.

  2. This has happened a few times in the last few days. Not every time mind you but on occasion.

I will be flying along with neutral trim and turn the AP on. Use the trim hat to turn left and be flying straight and level again. Disconnect AP and my left wing will drop hard after the disconnect and be trimmed left wing down until I trim back the other way to neutral. I will try to reproduce and provide a track file later today.

  3. AFAIK there are only static and unit templates. A mission wide template would need to be a default miz file as far as my understanding goes.

Yeah, for instance my template I'm working on is harriertemplate.miz when I change something to make it a mission I save as and rename it so I still have the original .miz file and the new complete one.

  4. I strongly disagree here.

I think your view on BVR fight is limited. BVR isn't only Crank Notch and pump, you have a lot of maneuvers depending on the number advantage or disadvantage, you have to take into account altitude, speed, geometry, hostile aircraft technology, radar evasion and masking, ECM and CM, bullseye... And that's only the engagement itself.

When you are fighting in BVR you have a mission behind it, protect your strikers, intercept enemy bombers and escort... And you have to build your SA to be able to live.

When I fly the Mirage and I end up in a turn fight it's because I messed up my BVR fight or didn't see the guy comming.

In your example, the guy with the gun has to know how to use it, load it, aim it...

BVR on the DCS air-quake servers with "SPAMRAM" is not the same as the BVR that you can see on realistic missions.

I agree that BVR is a skill. There is always a lot going on. I don't think the argument you are trying to make is very good though. Almost every skill you mentioned also apply's to WVR too. It sounds like you are saying if you are WVR that you don't have your mission anymore or that you don't have to have SA. It sounds like you are also saying WVR you don't need to pay attention to altitude, speed, geometry, hostile aircraft technology or countermeasures. That's nonsense.

  5. It's bugged right now. I have a training mission type thing I made where it doesn't matter what my wingman has he just sits in the middle of the runway. He will take off about 15 minutes later.
