Thanks for the help. I am already trying to force this and even had Cherry enable "speed mode" on the keyboard that got rid of some of the extra keypresses I listed above.
The keyboard has two modes that are most likely to be used for DCS. One is Keyboard Macro, which it can store the sequence directly into the keyboard memory, or Software Mode, where it stores the keypresses on the computer and these presses are triggered when the key is pressed through the driver software.
When I use the Keyboard Macro mode, there are not many options. You can only chose the keys that are getting pressed. It choose how it does the rest. For example, I tell it to do "Right Alt down... 1 down..." that is all I can do, I cannot tell it when these are released. It adds a "right alt up" after I hit save. The output of this is (Through the Foxy Keyboard KeyTest program):
- Right Alt Down
- 1 Down
- Right Alt Up
- 1 Up
When I use the Software Mode, I can "force" the order. So I specifically tell it to do "Right Alt Down... 4 (from the keys above the letters on the keyboard) Down... 4 Up... Right Alt Up". The output for this is:
- Down 235
- Up 235
- / Down
- / Up
What the heck "235" is I have no clue. In addition, it is somehow taking the number "4" and making a "/" out of it. For my "Right Alt - 5" it outputs the same crazy string, but instead of a "5" it sends an "F2".
I also tested in BS2 the screwed up keypress from the Keyboard Macro mode since they are somewhat almost there. I would press and hold "Right Alt" then press "1" then release "Right Alt" then release "1". Still BS2 handled that correctly. I think there is something wrong with this keyboard. I have the latest software for it, so it is the only explanation.
Thanks for the help.

So, I ran across something interesting. There is a way to use old laptop screens which use the LVDS protocol to speak to them. There are very cheap converters. Here is one for ~$30 USD:
I figure you can get touch screen overlays and make some nice home cockpits with this that are flexible.

Feed,
Any luck checking this out? I am still having probs.
Thanks!

I recently purchased a Cherry Point of Sale keyboard to help with BS2. Here is the link...
http://www.cherrycorp.com/english/keyboards/POS/SPOS_Rows_Columns/index.htm
Now when I go to use it, you would think it would be straight forward, but somehow things don't seem to be working well. There are two ways to have it store keys. One is in the keyboard itself (you have limited memory per key) or in software, where you hit the key and the driver says "Ah, you pressed a key, let me look up what is stored in the memory on the computer" (this leads to pretty much an infinite amount of macro storage per key, but is slower, not to mention it puts an annoying overlay on the screen everytime you press a key).
Anyway, the problem comes when I simply try to store a keyboard macro. Say I want a PVI-800 key "1"... I pick a key and store "Right-Alt 1" for it. I upload that profile and then I try to test it. When I open up the Foxy Keyboard Test program, and hit the button, I get this result:
1. Right-Alt Down
2. Right-Alt Up
3. Right-Alt Down
4. 1 Down
5. Right-Alt Up
6. 1 Up
As you can tell, this just leads to all sorts of mess in BS2. Half the time the PVI-800 "1" key is pressed, half the time the ABRIS 1 key is pressed. If I use the software storage of key macros, it is even worse. Not only is it full of trash Alt key presses and releases, it will have phantom key presses such as the key "26"... not 0x26 scan code, but some fantasy key that when you press it, it types a "26".
The sad thing is this keyboard seems to work fine for macros in Word and the like, but BS2 is less forgiving (and expecting the keyboard to work right! It is not BS2's fault).
Has anyone had any experience with these keyboards? Is mine just broken? I have the latest drivers and software from their website. There is really not much to programming these things, not to mention I have been messing with stuff like this since 1991!
Thanks...

Hello all,
I just had a weird issue pop up. After not a single problem using my TM Cougar/TQS/RCS system on 2 previous computers, my new system is having some issues. I upgraded to an i7 on a ASUS Sabertooth Z77 board running Win 7 64bit (which my last 2 computers ran on). Well over the last month, I have been plagued with strange things, such as my mouse all the sudden dying and needing to be plugged into a new port, or my Cougar just "disappearing" even when not using it, e.g. I would be in Word and would get a "da-dum" USB disconnect sound and when I investigated what happened, the joystick was gone.
Now, this week, I have gotten a scary message. My Cougar stopped working, again, but I got a "USB Power Surge" error on the joystick and the OS/motherboard shut down the ports until I reboot.
I did a complete clean uninstall of all drivers (both mobo USB and TM Cougar 64bit 2007 drivers) and reinstalled them. I am still having the same problems. I have even moved the Cougar to a USB 3.0 port, but it still is complaining.
Any thoughts out there?
Thanks

New F-18 cockpit for 2015... They can now play DCS World while flying...

Speaking of other Ka-50 cockpits. Check out these pics I found. Don't know if they have been posted before. The titles were the captions on the website...

Ka-50Sh
Check out the left panel (UV-26 location, targeting computer, no radios)
Center Panel has the datalink below the weapon selection
Right side front, no ABRIS or a smaller screen one.
Ka-50 "Mod"
No-comment, looks like something someone on a DCS forum whipped up.

Updated list. I guess this thread got me moving.
*WARNING* I can't guarantee the accuracy, but it is mostly there. I need people to check up on this stuff.
ZIP files has XLS sheet in it and PDF. Feel free to tweak it, modify it, etc. However, if you do, please post edits back to this thread for all to use.

Here is my latest list. It needs rockets, etc. added. Any help would be appreciated since I am slammed at work.

I have an Excel spreadsheet I started. When I get on my other computer, I will send it along tomorrow (Sunday). It has class, type, designation, range, warhead, guidance, and comments (like what it is best for).

Update
Looks like it will be stereoscopic 1280x800 and gets rid of the lag/latency that plagued systems in the past.
It will be cool to check out.

Everyone knows that the searchlight is only good for shining in people's eyes during multiplayer missions.

Can you uninstall BS1 still, like the old BS2 upgrade?
-
On that note, anyone try with linux and WINE?

I propose something that will be more useful than a full blown aircraft and will be original. How about a COIN type aircraft to play on the future of low-intensity conflict? Like a Super Tucano or Pilatus PC-21.
Here is the PC-21's glass cockpit (http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/pc_21/images/pc-21_3.jpg)
This would be badass to fly with an A-10 or Ka-50.

LOL... I need 30mm FCS procedures, not 2.75" :) Did you see that group of rockets he put on that Little Bird? I wish I could group them on stationary targets like that in Ka-50. Nicholas Cage is wonderful.

I am looking for any information out there that someone may have on the procedures, methods, cockpit controls, limitations, etc. that Apache or Cobra pilots use to employ their cannons for aerial targets. Does anyone have any info out there?
Thanks

You can export via .lua. Look for examples out there.

Ka-50 doesn't use anti-tank missiles to destroy buildings?
Check and mate!
Most realistic war movie, ever... Hands down.

I could think of a few missions to use the Kh-25ml and Vikhrs on. Such as CODA (without spoiling it). The Vikhrs have up to a 12kg warhead, the Kh-25s have ~90kg. As for the CG argument, I carry Vikhrs and FAB-500s on some missions with no problems. Just be ready with quick stick inputs and trim.

Make sure you add EVERYTHING to the end of the Shkval_init.lua file. I was just hacking into the file above to save a few lines of text (don't ask me why). And it did not work. Once I followed the directions to the dot, it worked perfectly. Gave me a few extra FPS in dense situations.
Though I have found even though I didn't use the cockpit Shkval to target, my peripheral vision used it for confirmation of target kills. I now glance more to my second monitor to determine kills and it is throwing me off a little.

I lucked out...
I guess I really lucked out on this mission. I came over the mountain (with one wingman that was caught up, I ordered him to jettison his rockets and he finally got over). I stayed way out of SAM range and used manual launch on my Vikhr's to get the SAM's and other targets. My air cover took out the Hinds without me even noticing them or they never saw me way far away. After a mission success, we turned around and headed home, lighter and able to get back over the mountain no problem.
What is your preferred combat helicopter and why??

AH-6I
Just sat in the latest at the Army's AUSA show last week in DC. It had two miniguns, a GAU-19, and a pod with 7 APKWS. Not to mention its ISR capabilities...
