I figured it out. You have to have the update files in the same directory as the BS1 launcher. For me it was - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dcs black shark\bin\x86\stable I hope that helps those having problems.

Doesn't work for me either. I downloaded from the torrent site also.
