Hey all,
This is my first post to the forum! This is the quick story behind my cockpit.
One of my fathers friends loaned us his TM Warthog a couple weeks ago, and after sitting it on my desk I realized that just wasn't going to do it for me. I was greatly inspired by the numerous awesome cockpits in this forum, and decided to start building a cockpit with whatever wood we laying around the basement. The seat is suppose to be similar to a ACES II, I went off some diagrams and drawing I found for the rough outline. It has lumbar support, and I'm planning to replace the pillow with some sort of seat foam. From there, things just expanded. The 2x4 that the keyboard and mouse are mounted on, is able to swing open to allow easier access. That was a feature requested by my dad. The sub-woofer under the seat is pretty awesome when you start firing the 30mm. I realized my personal computer which I built 3 years ago, wasn't going to be up to the task of running the game, which is when we built the system dedicated to the sim now (specs listed in signature). I'm hoping to add some gauges to the 19", like the engine gauges and the primary flight instruments. And then more down the road I'd like to add functional panels.
