  1. Hell....ain't that the truth. A food that is proven to reduce a woman's sex drive by 95%....Wedding Cake. :( 41. CS
  2. First off: Kudos and enjoy sir. Second off: 100fps in the cockpit at max settings? Damn. I think I have to get what you just got! :) Let us know how the tinkering goes. CS (LFFPS - Looking for FPS :))
  3. BB, Hey there. You probably know, but the K series of Intel chips are easier and simpler to overclock. There's lots of easily-digestable material on the web about the recommended incremental steps and monitoring software used during the process of finding out how far you can safely overclock your CPU. Again, you may already know this, but just sayin' :), every CPU is slightly different. To reach, let's say, a clock speed of 4.5GHz, one I5-2500k CPU would require a vcore (cpu voltage) of 1.28V to be stable, whereas another identical I5-2500k CPU would require 1.32V to be stable. You have to take it step by step and see where the CPU becomes unstable and/or too hot. I know I know...You know this. Sorry. :) Just wanted to provide some useful information and to prevent hard earned cash being spent on a new system only to have it overclocked beyond safe parameters and and lose a ton of useful life. Enjoy your new system and let us know how it goes! CS
  4. Terminal, Hey bud. From what I've read on the forums, there isn't much of an FPS penalty going from one monitor to two or three, especially when using an ATI-based card. I imagine NVidia shouldn't be hit that hard, especially if you're going to be getting one of the new 600 series cards. But to the Esteemed DCS Board Members, am I correct in saying that the GPU has to wait until the CPU draws the picture? (I think you all know where this is headed). As you know, I run a slightly-overclocked (factory) GTX590. As noted on many FPS-comparison analysis threads, differences in FPS between running this GPU and others, including comparable ATI and NVidia offerings (580,570,560ti, etc..) using similar CPU clock frequencies are relatively the same. So...what does that tell us?  True...the lure of the latest GPU is most enticing. And I'm sure you will pick up a few FPS as a result. But...so long as the CPU market remains status quo as to clock frequencies, and assuming no change in sim source code, you may be disappointed with your new purchase. I'd wait a bit. :) CS
  5. :clap_2:
  6. I'm sure many of you had seen this pic. For those who have not, feast your eyes and have a good flight. Carry on, gentlemen.
  7. Indeed sir. As of post #7, game on! Although hassata had a good question in post #8: Whether the panel is fully implemented in the sim as of 1.1.1.1. No one answered that yet. And now, back to the cleaning lady. :)
  8. CS approves this thread derailment.
  9. +1 :music_whistling:
  10. +1
  11. Aaah, perfecto. :) Gentlemen, much thanks for your wisdom. Have a great week. CS
  12. hassata, That's simply outstanding. Thank you very much for the link! CS
  13. Ok. Thanks Eddie. Going forward: Setting presets WILL input them into the system, even if they subsequently do not show up using the frequency selector knob. Pressing Status will show the actual frequency that was loaded to that preset. CS
  14. Well, gee...I'm just full of noob questions today. The Intercom Control Panel has four options for the rotary selector dial: INT FM VHF HF However, there are two complications: 1. There is no reference marker that tells me what is the active selection. 2. There are FIVE actual, physical positions of the rotary selector dial. Help. CS
  15. Hello fellow sim enthusiasts. I am having a bit of difficulty setting radio presets for any of the three radios in the sim. The manual says (for the UHF radio, for example): "To load a frequency to a preset channel, you simply dial in the frequency manually; select the preset channel you with to assign the frequency to, and then press the LOAD button." Well...that doesn't work quite right. After performing the above step, having the radio set to Preset, not Manual, the radio does recognizes the new fequencie I loaded BUT what happens is that the new set frequency becomes the frequency for ALL presets, no matter what the selector knob setting. And if I try to set a different frequency to preset #2, THAT new frequency becomes the frequency for all other presets. Meaning, the "new" or "last input frequency" is shown on the frequency status indicator window. By pressing the Status button, it does show the different frequencies when the selector knob is rotated, BUT, the frequencies change back after I move the preset frequency selector dial through it's range. Signed, Confused. :( Thanks.
  16. Tyger, I just printed out your post to use as reference material. Thank you for the information and have a great day. CS
