I just got this game working finally (after installing patches 1.1.1.0 and 1.1.1.1, and then finding out I needed to use the BCDEDIT command on my 32-bit Vista setup). So I'm finally going through the Training Missions. The second one, titled HOTAS, is giving me a problem...
I get through alot of the mission and am able to follow the instructors commands about changing displays, cycling pages, slewing indicators, etc. But then we get to a spot where he wants the HUD as SOI, and the system puts a yellow box on the HUD. He tells me to use the slew controls (on my keyboard, ; . , /) to get the little target indicator box ( I forget what he really called it, it's the tiny moveable green box you slew around on the HUD) moved into the yellow box he put onscreen, all of which I can do.
But then he says to use the TMS UP command to lock that indicator on target. He says the keyboard command for this should be LCTRL + UP. Now, I assume this means I should press the Control button on the left side of the keyboard, and also press the UP arrow key on the keyboard, at the same time...at least, I assume that's what "UP" stands for. But I have done this many times now, and nothing ever happens....the little indicator I slewed into his yellow box doesn't change, the yellow box remains on the screen, and the instructor never says anything else. The plane just keeps flying, I keep pressing key commands, and nothing changes. So I'm apparently unable to perform this TMS UP command correctly, as I assume once I do I will see a change on the HUD, or the yellow box will go away, or the instructor will continue on.
Am I pressing the right keyboard combo here? What should I see happen to the indicator in the HUD, or elsewhere on the screen, to know this worked? Shouldn't the instructor continue on after I do this? Is it important that one of the MFCDs be in a certain mode, or on a certain page, for this TMS UP command to work?
