  1. "Hello,

I own a G2 headset without controllers. How can I force on re-projection? Unfortunately the method of using the in-headset and controllers doesn't work for me.

    Kind regards"

Disregard, answer my own question 🙂 found the file default.vrsettings and manually changed to setting

  2. Hello,

I recently saw that steamVR also supports the Rift S. Currently I'm using the native oculus software, occurs tray and the DCS in game VR options to control my VR. Would using steamVR improve the DCS Rift S experience?

  3. Dear all,

I'm currently building a new system based on a Asus MOBO (Maximus hero XI). Unfortunately it looks like Asus RTX 2080ti cards are globally out of stock and delivery dates keep on being pushed out in time. Therefore I'm thinking getting an RTX 2080ti from an other vendor. I guess that's not a bit issue in term of compatibility? Any suggestion on the vendor? The RTX I was looking at was the Asus strix OC 2080ti. For example the Zotac AMP are still available.

  4. Hello,

I'm soon building a new rig based on a i9 9900K / RTX 2080ti :) But here's my question: I know that DCS only properly support one GPU. But for other stuff I'll need to do with my rig, I might be running a dual GTU set up ( i.e. 2 x RTX 2080ti). But here's the thing: on the MOBO I'll be using (asus ROG Maximus XI hero) a dual GPU setup only has bandwidth of x8 per GPU (vs. x16 if I was only using one GPU). Would that make a difference in performance for DCS? In most benchmarking I saw so far, there seem to be little very little difference between x16 and x8.

What are your thoughts ? :helpsmilie:

  5. Thanks!

Have it running at 5.1 GHz on all 8 cores now, rock solid.

I saw a large improvement on my end, going from i7 4820k @ 4.5 GHz, DDR3 ram , and the 2080 Ti to this new build with the same 2080 Ti. I did not see a big leap on this previous system when I changed from 1080 Ti to 2080 Ti.

However yours would not be as large a leap as you have the 6700k so not sure how much you would see.

Hmmm to update or not to update? I’m currently on a I7 5930K@4.6Ghz / 1080ti. I was under the impression that going to a 9900K / 2080ti would only marginally improve my VR experience: currently running pd1.2, AAx16, shadows low, MSAAx2 (rift cv1)

  6. I suspected no issue with overcast so thanks for confirming. For now I'll be using dynamic weather. I just learned that CombatFlite can also generate dynamic weather conditions and it's super easy to use.. great work-around until ED fixes this.

Does anyone know if there's a way to control the cloud base level with dynamic weather? The default seems to be around 8000 ft and I haven't found any way of changing that yet.

Is there a way to get a proper weather briefing when using dynamic weather ? Metar/ TAF?

  7. I only run VR. I just tried it out of curiosity, I'm fortunate to get great frame rates and smooth projection, but any promised upgrade is worth checking out :)

For me, it was a downgrade I'm afraid.

    Cheers

  8. With oculus tray tool set with 1.1 supersampling, whatever the pixel density is set in DCS doesn't matter : it will run 1.1 because ott is an overrider (with DCS, and it's the same using oculus debug tool).

Btw you can verify this using the Hud layer, showing the number actually in use when running DCS (1.01 if you set 1.0, or 1.71 if you set 1.7 in ott, overrideing the DCS pd setting), and also the gpu usage that correspound to this ss override.

what's the benefit of using OTT? So one need to start OTT before DCS and do the changes?

  9. No. I have the WT stick and Undesignate/NWS it is only binded to my nosewheel steering button...

+1 I'm having the same issue. Sometimes my WPDSD doesn't work at all. I'm 99.9% sure I'm not pressing the undesignate button (and made sure no other key is pressing that undesignate button)
