  1. Hello and happy new year to all of you!

This is how I solved my game freezing issue (on 1.5.5 i.e. the latest version of 1.5).

    The problem:

After a fews minutes of flying (and sometimes even in the menu) the game freezes solid. The white hourglass appears and the computer is frozen solid. The computer needs to be switch off manually. Nothing appears in either the DCS nor the window log.

That same problem appears regardless of the module (and also on 2.x version)

    The solution:

After trying a lot of things(re-installing the game, drivers, updating the firmware of the SSD, making sure page file in auto, disabling the HT of my CPU, updating the BIOS) , my problem was traced to the OC of the computer.

If I use "optimised value in my BIOS", the sim seems to run without any issues (3.7Ghz @ 1.105V). As soon as I OC above that (even a little such 4.0Ghz) I start running into the freezes. My OC seem stable vs the usual stress tests (they survive 1 to 2 hours of RealBench and Prime95). Those OC also cause no issues with other sims such P3Dv3. But for what ever reason they don't work with DCS. In the past (I paused using the sim for a few months)I have never experience such problems.

  2. Hi Chardly,

Did you manage to solve your freeze issue? I noticed the same thing. Flying with the Gazelle would freeze my computer after a few mins. Yet flying the same mission with an A-10c doesn't freeze my computer.

  3. Freezes are back :cry::cry::cry: ...typically after 10 to 45 mins of flying (super simple mission: gazelle, night winter mission with fog and snowfall, only a few trucks as targets). ED please help. My DCS is now unplayable :cry::cry::cry:

PS: posted in the wrong forum , i'm using the release version

  4. New update on the above. My MOBO had some stability issues due to latest BIOS (3402). Asus just released a new update (3501) that could finally bring back stability to the MOBO. The bios release 3402 might correlate with the appearance of my "game freeze" issues.

I will test and report in the coming few hours.

    **Update**

In my case, it indeed seem that the faulty MOBO Bios was the culprit !! I'm back to normal DCS ops with an OC at 4.5 GHz !!!

  5. I tried to reduce preload radius as above mentioned but no joy. I still get the freeze from time to time. When I rctrl+pause I get a video memory above 4GB.

I also experience that issue on 2.0. I never had any such issues in the past (until a few weeks ago). Lot's people are reporting a very similar problem in the 2.0 section:

  6. Greetings Razo+r

How do I check for RAM usage ? I have the latest WHQL driver installed on my GPU and latest BIOS for my motherboard .

PS: I usually start a DCS session on a fresh start (only occulus is running). Available RAM before start at least around 70 to 80% all of my 16 GB

  7. Dear ED,

I'm running out of ideas and revert to you for help. I often encounter game freeze (where I need to restart the computer). I have attached my log just after observing such a freeze ( I don't get a crash log just the normal log attached). Sometimes I can fly several missions on one session and not observe a freeze. Sometimes I get the freeze early in a mission. Often on exit and at least once in the menu.

My computer is not OC (vanilla DCS install) and have not observed such problems with other high demanding sims (such at P3D).

Note that I am using a rift cv1.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Kind regards

  8. Thanks a lot Ramsay!

Will the devs implement the other functions of the T100 sight ? Such as Torque overload, radio height warning and the T100 specific control panel ?

    Kind Regards

  9. Hello,

For the first time ever I tried flying a chopper on DCS. I fell in loooove with the Gazelle. Great module! I'm a fixed wing pilot (also in real) so it was a bit of challenge getting to fly a chopper.

Now that I can fly properly that bird I'm looking into the weapon system. I noticed that my gun/rocket reticle differs from what I saw on tutorial on the web. I have a yellowish cross and circle for both rockets/guns will the tutorial have green (circle for guns and circles/lines for rocket).

    How so ?

Thanks a lot for your help

    PS: I'm using a CV1

    PS2:

    green reticules

    my yellowish reticule

at 5:10 when he uses the gun

PS3: at some angles, my yellow gunsight renders outside of the HUD glass. And generally the sight appears very thick.

    ****Solved****

    Came across that:

looks like the yellow is the updated version of the green. The user seems to suffer from the same issue i.e. thick sight rendering sometimes outside of the hud (reported in September and still not fixed ? :-( )
