  1. Acidman, I too am a former Compuserve Falcon 3.0 H2H competitor. Used to love the dogfighting competition, and was great that there were plenty of other's that were into the same thing. Yes, I too had dual $300/month phone bills, one for voice, one for the modem data line. I sometimes miss the friends I knew then, but I don't miss the bills. :) When Falcon 4.0 first came out, I got to participate with the iBeta team, and also flew in some of the online competitions back then. The entire time I used Thrustmaster products, FLCS, TQS and RCS. I stopped flying for quite a few years after the sim community kind of died down, and the COD games got popular. I played those games as well. When I saw the Thrustmaster A-10 Warthog sticks in Fry's before Christmas, I became excited all over again, and checked the net for any latest sims that would be worth starting over again before I made a purchase. After discovering DCS A-10C and convincing a couple friends to jump into learning the sim as well, I made the plunge. After getting the Warthog sticks, Saitek Pro Rudders, a new Dell Alienware machine, three monitors running via Eyefinity, touchscreen running Helios, and a TrackIR, I'm back in business, and making up for lost time. I love the A-10C sim, and learning everything about it. I'm having a great time. Soon, I hope to be flying multiplayer and holding my own. Looking forward to it. I still wonder what my former flying buddies are up to nowadays. If any of them see this, they should give a hello. -John (formerly 'AVENGER')
  2. I didn't even know it was there, until today. I tried it, and I like it. It could be nice to move that to the OPTIONS menu.
  3. Thanks Viper for that tip, I plugged those values in, and slewing performs much better now. Before, I just used slight curvature on the slew axis, but those values made my slewing rock solid with no jitters.
  4. Whoops, Username got you the tips before I did. Hope this all helps out.
  5. I suggest you use your TGP to search and lock onto targets. The seeker head on the Targeting Pod will cover a wider area than the seeker head on the Maverick, which is limited to a forward view. With your TGP as SOI, slew for targets. Use your TMS UP SHORT to toggle between AREA and POINT mode. POINT is good for moving vehicles as it will track the vehicle. AREA is good if you want to drop a bomb between two vehicles. To set the current slew position as your current SPI, use your TMS UP LONG. Once you've set your SPI, set your weapons to your SPI by pressing CHINA HAT FORWARD LONG. This will tell your Maverick to look at your SPI. Set your Maverick as your current SOI. Roll your plane towards your target now, so that your Maverick seeker head can get the SPI within it's targeting cursor. To lock the Maverick to your SPI, press TMS UP SHORT. It may take you a few tries to get the Maverick to lock onto the SPI, depending on your position and range to target. The Maverick has a minimum and maximum effective distance to target, so keep an eye on that (left side of Maverick screen). You'll be able to lock on the target within that range. Once the targeting cursor of the Maverick starts to blink, you're locked in. RIFLE! Hope this helps. Enjoy.
