  1. Since yesterday's 1.5.1.46722.87 update, the A-10 is facing in the wrong direction on the runway again. You can see this on takeoff and basic handling and guns and unguided rockets training missions.
  2. The same issue with Takeoff and Basic Handling in the training section of the A-10C. Take off is towards the mountains and messes with "Fly heading 030" instruction.
  3. This was mentioned on reddit awhile back but it's also in The Dark Knight Rises: http://i.imgur.com/K5vkUGi.jpg
  4. I'm really interested in leap motion, more so than Oculus Rift. fwiw it's available for pre order on amazon.co.uk for £69.99. Cheaper than buying it direct, plus there will be no customs charges for us guys in Europe. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00C66Z9ZC/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0BD077HBZ2EJMB1T72Q1&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=358549767&pf_rd_i=468294
  5. I let the AOA indexer do all the donkey work for me, but I have heard real life pilots need to have a high level of mathematics, so I wouldn't be surprised if they have to work it out on the fly.
  6. Hi, I got some good advice from cichlidfan awhile back. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1352343&postcount=7 I hope this helps you as it helped me. edit the rest of the thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82930
  7. I wonder if it would be possible to get an event like this going with an A-10 pilot. Or maybe a reddit AMA.
  8. Hello, I'm having the same issue myself. I would like to have cockpit jiggle on by default too. Like you mentioned, I have to press LShift+J several times before it switches on. I've seen this line of code: but I'm not sure what any of it means. Can anyone make sense of it? Is there a way to enable jiggle permanently? Thanks
  9. oh. dammit haha. What an idiot I am! Thanks for the clarification. I finally got past that mission. Thanks for all the help guys. :slowly backs away from the thread:
  10. Thanks, that makes sense. I will keep at it. The manual defeated me last year and I gave up and slunk back to BF3. I'm determined this time to nail this thing even if it takes me the next 5 years. Thanks fellas. Rep to you all. Right, back to the flight book..page 51..:book:
  11. I think I get it, thanks. So if I'm starting a left turn, the ball is going to shift left too, so I need to apply a little rudder to the left to keep it centred? I find doing a complete 360 roll, the ball is all over place. It happens so fast, by the time I've levelled out again, I've lost about 400 feet in altitude. I just tried the training mission and just can't complete the 360 degree left turn.
  12. Hello, Slightly embarrassing question but I'm not sure how often I should be using the rudder pedals during flight. I use them during take-off and landing (when I've landed) but aside from that my feet are idle. What's the correct procedure specifically for the A-10 on how to use them? I notice during the take-off training mission where I have to do a level turn and the instructor mentions the rudder and something about slip. I never get to complete this step because I'm doing something wrong. Any help would be welcome. Thanks.
  13. Thanks for your advice. I think I'll knock the idea on the head and stick with A-10C. This probably sounds odd but I prefer not to have hundreds of planes in a sim. I'm sure the developers have modelled them reasonably well but it's almost as if they have spread themselves too thin to cater for a much wider market. I saw the space shuttle for x-plane and it's turned me off to idea of either FSX or XP10. I guess the attention to detail of DCS has spoiled me. I think I'll stick to what I know (or truthfully what I don't know) with A-10C. Cheers
  14. I've been out of the Flight Simulator loop for awhile, since 2002. Just youtubed a few vids YeaImRota mentioned and came across this: That looks so good. I think I want to try it out myself. So, I would need a copy of FSX, ORBX and what else? Thanks
  15. I had this same problem as I couldn't find my steam key either. The way I got mine was to start the installation process on steam. Then went back to my library and right clicked DCS A-10 and there it was. Cancelled the installation and deleted the files where my steam A-10C was downloading to, and got all the files from here instead. edit: sorry I might have read your original post wrong. I guess you are running the standalone on steam? If so, ignore what I said.
