  1. I'm not concerned about temporarily downtimes. But what if Eagle Dynamics and Starforce go out of business next month - and I can't use my 50$ Software anymore. Who guarantees me that there will will be a workaround in this case?
  2. so... what if the Eagle Dynamics activation server gets hit by a meteorite - how can i install BS then?
  3. thats bad - nevertheless thanks for the info
  4. Hi does the retail DVD Version of Black Shark need an online activation or does it a DVD-Check?
  5. I reccomend this thing http://www.thrustmaster.com/product.aspx?ProductID=149 it looks superb on the pictures... but i of course only a budget product - so don't expect a Saitek X52Pro... but I'm quite happy with it's price-performace-ratio for ~ 30€ BTW: I don't own DCS now, only flying LockOn Flaming Cliffs Su25T with it
  6. I don't know... having this strange software always in the background, which always communicates with their server... don't know what they send back... this whole "always online" thing just makes me nervous I'd rather put in a DVD in a drive
  7. lol Ouuh yeah! Gamestar - the biggest crap i've seen in the german videogame magazine market. though it has a big circulation (not sure if it is the right word, look it up in a translation) and a big fanbase... the reviews were always crap! just to give you a brief history of their reviews on games: the gave the game "Gothic 3" a very very good review - though the game was absolute crap! Full of bugs, unfinished etc. I think they give games good reviews depanding on... well, lets say "advertisement payments from publishers" By the way, they gave Sega Rally last year also something with 70% - but this game was an absolute classic! If you unterstand something about arcade racing games! So my conclusion is that they only have a mainstream view on games and are corrupt
  8. Hi I was wondering if there are any definite plans how DCS will be shipped. Will it be a Flaming Cliffs style DVD Box only with the CD/DVD and a PDF manual - for a cheap price. Or a nowadays fogotten form with printed manual - for a highter price. I mean there is the trend to sell even highly complex Simulations without any manual (MS-FSX, Silent Hunter 4, Falcon 4.0 AF or Lockon itself). But i'm not sure why there is this development - okay, the costs for a big manual are quite high, but is it a solution to push it over to the customer who has to print the crap out of his printer/wallet? Somewhere i read that a big manual scares off the casual videogame buyer - okay, could be - but now the casual gamer buys the sim and puts in on ebay afterwards because he has absolutely no chance to get into the sim due to the lack of a manual. So noone realy wins - the sim developers loose reputation and sell numbers because they produce sims with bad tutorials and no manuals (best example: silent hunter 4 - where there wasn't even a PDF manual - the forum community had to write their own!) So hopefully there will be atleast a seperate manual to order at the release date of black shark. (somewhat like the flaming cliffs manual - though which was only available some time after release) regards
  9. Hi because i'm new to the forum, first of all: hi guys ! I have Lock On since 2 Years, but took it out of the CD-rack a month ago, and been playin it like crazy since it. which led to the damage of my current Joystick, a Saitek Cyborg 3D, so i need a new one. the old cyborg3d has served me well in the last years in more than a dozen flight sims (BTW: anyone knows "Orbiter" ?) So I was to buy the updated Version of the Saitek Cyborg, the EVO what do you, Pro-Pilots, think about this? is there a better alternative in this price segment?
